pacemaker

572651 tn?1530999357 DJ is in a serious medical crisis and currently in ICU. She has been there since Tuesday and I have been waiting to know more before telling you this news. You probably remember that she recently had her morphine pump exchanged for a different unit. Unknown to the surgeon, she has an extensive abdominal and bladder infection.
572651 tn?1530999357 Cat, indeed! Poor DJ has been through so much! I'm glad she called you, and, DJ, if you're lurking, I send lots of love and hugs, and wishes for speedy recovery.
Avatar f tn My 66 yr old father had to have a pacemaker inserted after his heart rate dropped dangerously low. He has had it in for 9 days now and is experiencing moderate to severe lightheadedness and diziness when he lays down or gets up. This usually recedes after about 20 mins to a half hour. Is it normal? His doctored mentioned that this was normal but every blog I have read mentions dizziness being an indication of possible malfunction of the leads. What are your thoughts?
572651 tn?1530999357 Hey everyone - here's the news. DJ and her daughter Lori are on a United flight out of LAX Saturday morning, 10:30ish. It is a direct flight to PA, so no layovers. Please keep a positive thought, say a prayer, spin around three times and spit - whatever it is you do! LOL - that they have a safe journey and encounter kind, compassionate workers at LAX, in the security line, on the flight and arrive intact and in good spirits in Pennsylvania.
572651 tn?1530999357 Saying prayers for our DJ today.
572651 tn?1530999357 DJ continues to be a guest of the hospital in Arcadia. They removed the intrathecal morphine pump last week. The spot where the lines went into her spine continue to leak spinal fluid, so they are going to do a blood patch on Monday. Here's hoping it helps. They have not yet found a way to handle her pain that she gets from the extreme spasms she experiences, and she is relying on the oral morphine to take the edge off. The movers come Monday morning for her household goods.
572651 tn?1530999357 Happy, happy birthday DJ!!! I hope it is a wonderful party! Thanks for letting us know, Lulu.
Avatar f tn Finally with this test, it shows that yes, something is not right. Does a pacemaker seem like the best treatment? If given a choice that's what I would choose, I'd like to be fixed and not treat with medication. I'm 41 and don't want to spend the rest of my life on medication. I've been a wreck since the tilt test in July and my appointment is Monday 8/17 with Electro-Cardiologist.
572651 tn?1530999357 I am so glad you were able to make it over to see DJ. What a special day you both must have had. DJ looks like she is feeling better and G-d willing this new neuro will be able to help her with the pain. I hope DJ will tell us about her experience with the sitting MRI. I've heard of it before but don't know a single person who has done it yet. Sounds better than lying down. She'll do great. Love to you both.
Avatar f tn Ive never been to a baby shower with a dj either lol. Ive had two babyshowers now and been to several.
572651 tn?1530999357 s mama is her lifeline in so many ways, and lives in the same building and helps with the daily tasks that would be impossible for DJ to do on her own. They truly are partners, and DJ constantly tells me how important her mama is to her. The fear of losing her, on so many levels, is truly difficulty to begin to understand unless you were in DJ's position. Getting to the hospital is difficult, because DJ uses her motorized wheelchair to get around town.
572651 tn?1530999357 Hope things go well DJ. Will offer up some healing prayers tonight and tomorrow also, that all goes well.
572651 tn?1530999357 Good evening all of you from DJ - shadowsister. We had a long conversation last night and she asked that I relay her best to all of you. She asked that I specifically tell you she feels your presence even though she is still unable to get on the computer and be here with us. She knows so many of you are with her on her journey and she appreciates that more than you perhaps know.
611606 tn?1315517767 Debi Please read this to my "Little Man" when he comes home from school. Etienne, Auntie DJ didn't forget your Birthday, But I live clear across the ocean so your real Birthday Card is going to be a bit late. Auntie hopes you had a fun day with Mommy and Daddy yesterday. All of Mommy's friends on line want to wish you A Very Happy Birthday, because you are so special and you haven't been feeling very well for a long time.
572651 tn?1530999357 It has been a long while since DJ has been able to post here. She continues to experience assorted spasms that I can't even imagine experiencing. It appears that one has broken another vertabrae and most recently bladder spasms actually expelled her catheter, prompting her doctor to make a rare housecall for emergency actions. Her vision is still messed up - she has double vision when she tries to work on the computer wearing her glasses.
611606 tn?1315517767 We are soooo excited to have you back. Welcome home to PA and to the forum. The MS is still doing it's thing, eh? Well, you have a new crop of doctor's, a new baby boy, and from what I hear a much better living environment. To heck with the MS, just enjoy all the newness of everything. Glad to have you back. You were really missed. Love and big bear hugs.
281565 tn?1295982683 DJ sends her love to everyone on the forum. I spoke with her today and she is sad that she hasn't been able to be on here but she is having problems with her vision right now. She is going in for another test tomorrow and then has another appointment at the end of the month so it will be a little while yet before she knows anything for certain. What she is certain of is that she is going to get through all of this and will be on top yet!!!
572651 tn?1530999357 I hope the weather cooperates and you have safe travels if DJ feels up to visitors. Thanks for giving us the opportunity to share our thoughts with DJ.
572651 tn?1530999357 Well DJ, since today really isn't your birthday you will have to come back here tomorrow and read it all again!!!
