572651 tn?1530999357 We're heading over to Butler, PA, tomorrow to see DJ (shadowssister) . She continues to struggle and the radiation treatment for her thyroid has really knocked her down and out for a long count. They were not able to complete the biopsy because of her tracheotomy, so it isn't confirmed that there is cancer involved but they still had to shrink the area so she can breathe better.
5639849 tn?1372346883 hi just wanted to lend my support....as a Norco long term abuser myself....i want to say congrats on getting on the taper....i myself couldn't taper, i would just take too many if i had them... like the above posters said, i'd be careful with the valium and the trams....i have no experience with either but i've read tons of posts about how hard it is to get off the trams....you would have to taper off both of those as well.
667078 tn?1316000935 How are DJ, Shermay, Doni, and all the other folks? Anyone know? I hope they know we still care about them.
572651 tn?1530999357 We had planned to drive over to PA tomorrow to visit with DJ (shadowsister) for a bit. I have not seen her since last June, when she was still in LA. Now she is only a short 6 hours away, but that does involve some advance planning. Unfortunately she is having a horrible time and we have postponed my visit for another time. The spasms are relentless - and I'm not talking the kind of spasms you and I have.
572651 tn?1530999357 How selfish I feel to have vented my meager problems just a while ago. The LORD really knows how to put us in our place, doesn't he? I feel so helpless for DJ and of course I'm praying for her but that doesn't seem like enought right now. My Mother-in-law passed away a few months ago from the same type of infection. She was fine one day and 4 days later she was gone.
559187 tn?1330782856 She is one brave woman, and always has an upbeat spirit and joy about her, despite being confined to a wheelchair and unable to do much for herself. How she does this without being angry or openly bitter about what MS has taken from her continues to amaze me. I don't know tht I could be so gracious. DJ has undergone thyroid radioation treatment that is hopefully working. Cancer is much scarier to her than this MS crap.
572651 tn?1530999357 I am so happy to find this message and to hear, DJ, that you're doing better! Oh, how that lifts my spirits to hear that!
611606 tn?1315517767 Hi DJ, Happy New Year to you too!! May it be a blessed one for you, with better health. I am so thankful that you found this forum, you are such a beautiful person.
Avatar n tn When I do any exercise that really contracts the muscle that my pacemaker lies under, I pay attention to how it feels and stop or switch positions if it feels like it is putting too much pressure on the pacemaker. If your pacemaker has been implanted recently, be especially careful for the first few months while the scar tissue grows to hold the pacer and leads in place.
572651 tn?1530999357 She asked me to let you know how much she appreciates and feels all the love, support and prayers that her forum community has given to her this past week. When we spoke today, her coming to peace with the situation of her dear mother is obvious. She is one very strong woman, as all of you have seen, and she is wisely conserving her limited energy for those things most important.
572651 tn?1530999357 s mama is her lifeline in so many ways, and lives in the same building and helps with the daily tasks that would be impossible for DJ to do on her own. They truly are partners, and DJ constantly tells me how important her mama is to her. The fear of losing her, on so many levels, is truly difficulty to begin to understand unless you were in DJ's position. Getting to the hospital is difficult, because DJ uses her motorized wheelchair to get around town.
Avatar f tn t seem to find information that explains how a pacemaker can manage PVCs. Can anyone point me to resources or help me understand how this works?
Avatar f tn I have only recently joined the forums and don't know how to use them. I finally found the question regarding pacemaker replacements that I left on Nov. 9th. Don't really know how I finally found it, but so far I have found no answers to it. Is there some place that explains how to access and use your forums and get answers. Are we notified when we have an answer and told where to go to get it?
572651 tn?1530999357 Good evening all of you from DJ - shadowsister. We had a long conversation last night and she asked that I relay her best to all of you. She asked that I specifically tell you she feels your presence even though she is still unable to get on the computer and be here with us. She knows so many of you are with her on her journey and she appreciates that more than you perhaps know.
281565 tn?1295982683 as I have said before it takes a special person to know a special person and this applies to each and everyone of us. DJ is a shining example to us all with the courage that she shows. Sending her love, peace and healing.
Avatar f tn I feel just like I did before the Pacemaker. I had said to him that I thought I needed a Catheterization to check things out, but he made me do this instead. He now says that it had to be done first, and now we will look further. I did all this in Deborah Hospital in NJ, as I live in NJ. I am trying to get back in there for complete testing.
