Avatar f tn I travel 11 hours in a rented RV (since I must be laying down) to see Dr. Blair Grubb at the University of Toledo in Ohio. But you need to confirm if you have POTS on a tilt table test and he has a long waiting list (sometimes 6 months) so it may be better to have your doctor call him with your medical records.
969031 tn?1247605594 Postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome (POTS) occurs more commonly in women than in men and often affects women of childbearing age. Many of these women wish to have children, yet there are little reported data on the outcomes of pregnancy in patients with POTS. To date there has been one report of two patients with POTS who successfully completed pregnancy. We report the outcomes of 22 women with preexisting POTS who became pregnant.

Avatar f tn On the East Coast, Johns Hopkins University as well as the University of Pennsylvania do them, depending on the type of device you have. Mine is 2 years old, so we're not talking about the newest devices that are currently being manufactured so that patients can have an MRI as needed. It's not a special machine; rather, they use special settings, monitor your heart constantly, and have the cardio on hand during the procedure. I will travel from VA to PA on Dec. 28.
Avatar m tn Also her main GI surgeon that started all this and did most of the surgeries is at a big name university. Georgetown university to be exact. We were thinking about trying Johns Hopkins next.
Avatar f tn I got a letter from my school stating that since I show effort in class and have pretty good grades they are inviting me and my parents to breakfast and then will have an awards ceremony. I am soo scared to eat in front of people. I'm fine with my parents but none of my friends are going either. All people I don't know or don't like. I'm picky about food too and I know I'm not going to like it so how can I eat it without looking grossed out?

Avatar f tn i would research who the head of their EP Lab is and then research what their educational history is and if UA is a teaching hospital i would make it clear that it is not okay with your family to prance rotational residents in and out of his room and during the procedure and that you do not want a resident performing any of the procedures....you have to sort of set the ground rules for procedures being done in any teaching hospital or else it gets super stressful.......
997898 tn?1303734864 Good luck! I'm a student at the University of Maryland! I hope they can help you!
Avatar n tn My doctor is sending me to the University of Pennsylvania for my ablation. Does anyone know anything about this hospital?
539694 tn?1434565947 I was kicked out in my last year of Uni, because I failed two courses. Regardless of my diagnosis, I was the only one to blame. I wasn't serious enough, I partied too much, and couldn't focus. Do I blame the school at all? No, I did it, I owned it, and I moved on. Maybe once you've dealt with your addiction and are ready to deal with your illness, you can go back. Especially because you were taking psych courses, not really the most prudent program considering where you are at.
Avatar m tn I feel the doctor we have is good. He is concidered an expert in pediatric cardiac arrhythmias @ UVA. I checked out his schooling and I believe he has gone to some really great schools. He has fellowed USC & the Medical College of Georgia Pediatric Cardiology-Electrophysiology, Stanford University, and University of California San Francisco. He is also an assisant professor at UVA. My thing is, UVA is a teaching hospital. I don't want my daughter used as a teaching tool.

Avatar n tn Doctors told me my HR might suddenly go up at any second, or never suddenly go up again. I decided to keep doing an hour of cardio exercise everyday. Doctors at a University hospital, told me I should get a defib-plus put in my left chest just to make sure I'd be okay. I refused to have the defib-plus implanted in my chest because I feel great and my HR has been staying at 107 BPM during the hour I do on the eliptical machine. My resitng HR has always been between 50 and 60 BPM.
