I’ve been taking 5mg oxymorphone extended release pills for 8 years. I recently had to switch primary care doctors because mine moved away. The first urine drug test I was asked to do was last Friday and they called today and said the drug didn’t show up in my system, and dropped me as a patient. I should start withdrawals tomorrow & I’m scared out of my mind. I’ve never failed a drug test, asked for an early refill, nothing like that.

Opana worked well for me... But I have never had a med that works as long as it is supposed to! Have you ever tried Exalgo? It is hydromorphone instead of oxymorphone. I've done both but I'm on MS Contin for my extended release right now, it works well. Low dose ER meds only help to take the edge off so that the instant release works a little better. Maybe you should try a new IR like Roxie's, nucynta, or dilaudid.

I've been on opana for over a year the extended release but have stomach issues from chemo, so doc said change to the short acting opana but the nurse wrote prescription, when I filled it it is for dilaudid. I called and ask about it but the nurses are anything but helpful they dont want to have to change anything. actually it is oxycodone that is the main ingredient... oxycontin is a brand name, means oxycodone continuous release (i think). oxycontin is usually higer mg of the oxycodone because it has the extended release which is why addicts usually crush & snort or chew them to bypass that. it is true that percocet has more apap than the oxycontin or roxicodone but as far as the main ingredient 6 perc 5's are the same as a roxi 30 or 4 perc 10's are the same as an oxy 40.

t for you, you could ask your doctor about Oxycontin (oxycodone in extended release form) or Fentanyl. The oxycodone may not be as effective for your pain as oxymorphone is stronger but Fentanyl is stronger than oxymorphone. So there are a couple of directions to take if you decide the Opana ER is not worth the side effects.

Have you tried the extended release formula for Dilaudid? A new extended release formulation (OROS®) of Hydromorphone is available and I believe it is more afforable than the Fentanyl. MOST ABUSERS CRUSH AND SNORT IT LIKE OC USERS. SOME ALSO INJECT IT. I WAS AN ADDICT FOR EIGHT YEARS. AND A FUNCTIONING ONE AT THAT. Resin-coated tablets, and capsules using capillary diffusion models such as that of ALZA Pharm, can pass without any digestion of the capsule, and minimial digestion of an active compound-impregnated tablet.

I'm seeing the doctor today and the pain psychologist and I hope she'll be okay with me going back on the long-acting. I feel where I get some decent relief with the 10 mg. oxycodone, the oxycontin may do the trick. I only get about an hour on the oxycodone and I don't want to go up on the dose. I think an extended release med at a low dose may help. I am very happy I went off everything. I was on so much and at such high doses and really the lower dose works about as well.

Has anyone tried extended release Topamax or Topiramate? It is called Trokedi XR. I am going to try it because my memory is so bad on Topamax. My neurologist said it might be better with Trokedi XR but it is very expensive. So if you can tell me before I buy it I would appreciate any feedback.

I'm on the Opana for BT pain and the Kadian is one every 12 hours. There is an Opana extended release but i'm not on that one.
