oxycontin

Avatar m tn We can recommend some home remedies to help her ease the withdrawal process once she starts to taper down.
Avatar n tn How can I best help my niece (age 51) with her with her withdrawal. Approximately one year ago she was prescribed Oxycontin (180 mg per day) for relief from pain of fibromyalgia, DDD and carpal tunnel. Her doctor stopped prescribing about 7-8 months ago and she has been getting it from a friend. She is tired of the addiction and seems determined to kick it. I want to help her succeed but need some advice.
Avatar m tn Is there anyone who has any tips for how to go through a bad oxycontin withdrawal? I am wondering if there are any specific foods, vitamins, activities etc. that will help shorten or relieve the inevitable withdrawals. I feel so foolish for ever getting myself addicted to these horrible things. It started when I had all four of my wisdom teeth removed years ago and the doctor gave me a prescription. Now I have been off an on them for years. I need to get my life back.
Avatar f tn Unforuntanetly you can't really avoid the withdrawals. It will help that your doctor seems to be tapering you off and the lower you get in the taper the less you'll feel the withdrawals, however they will probably not be completely avoided. If it's possible to get a day or two or three off work, as sick days, that would allow you to get yourself better.
Avatar f tn Does anyone know any home remedies for Tramadol withdrawal? I've taken them for 2 months straight at least 6 a day and now feeling awful!!! Please help!
Avatar f tn ve been taking more and more every day to avoid feeling withdrawal. This past weekend I decided enough was enough and started cutting down to just the oxycontin and then just the oxycodone the past 24 hours. I flushed everything except 2 oxycontin because all of these threads say to get rid of it before trying to go cold turkey. I made it about 24 hours before i felt like I was going to die.
Avatar m tn Does anybody have any home remedies or secrets that doctors, etc. just will not tell you (unlike Suboxone) that will help me get through the withdrawal side effects of taking 200mg/day or more of Oxycontin for over a year now? Trust me I have tried alot including Suboxone and tapering, nothing really works. Even rehab, made it through but then right back on after a month.
Avatar m tn I it up to you but I would just bite the bullet and go CT. If you do there are some remedies such as the Thomas Recipe and Amino Acid protocol which will help see you through. You need to stay hydrated so drink lots of fluids juice, water etc; Now you need to make the best decision of you life and just quit that evil drug you will be grateful you did. Now come and do it, if I did it so can you.
Avatar f tn I'm so appreciative that everyone has posted on here. It's looking like I'll have to wean down from 160mg/ day by using the 10mg percocets that I have and then just be in pain. I'm not as much scared of the pain as I am of the anxiety and horrible cravings. I'm still very scared but at least I know that it's been done before. Since I don't have and Valiums, is there anything else that's helpful? I will go from 160mg down to 0 over the next few days.
Avatar f tn I've been on 30mg of oxy, 40 per week from my pain doctor. I also take 30 mg oxycontin, 30 every two weeks. It started about 3 years ago for multiple back diagnoses which caused me terrible pain at times. He originally prescribed me 10 mg, (40 tabs) a week. He continued to up it to the 30 mg amount. I had no idea how addicting this medicine was and the bills for the doctor are high too. I am interested in trying to taper at home and have read alot about it on the internet.

Avatar n tn I get acid reflux several times a month....its usually will last about a week and then its ok for a week or so...sometimes I don't have it for months and then its back. Anyway, I don't take meds except an occasional pepcid, which usually doesn't work. I have heard about home remedies such as apple cider vinegar (which sometimes works, but not always) Does anyone know anything else. I hate to take prescription drugs if I don't have to.
