Avatar f tn Has anyone had any experience with herbal or homeopathic remedies for home withdrawal. I'm very scared of what's to come?
Avatar n tn Are there any home remedies for oxycontin withdrawl? And how long does it last? I was kind of tappered down and still taking an other med to be soon tappered down as well. But I am having withdrawl from the Oxycontin. Any advise so I dont take to much of the other med to mask the symptoms?
Avatar n tn There is an amino acid that will help you regain your mental and physical energy level after acute withdrawal is over. But it will only increase your anxiety if you use it during acute withdrawal. If you like, I can send you a recipe for handling acute withdrawal and, once it's over, recovering your energy and relieving depression. Remember, you've basically gone from 40mg a day to cold turkey.
Avatar f tn i guess i just wanted to know how much longer i have to endure this until it starts to go away? and is there anyone out there that has any home remedies for the WD that would be great! thanks!
429155 tn?1205676864 MY PERSONAL DIARY OF OXYCONTIN WITHDRAWAL. May I briefly fill in a little background.I am David aged 55 and employed as a postman/driver/sorter, well up until 38 months ago I had never been into hospital, well boy was that about to change.
1323486 tn?1274757738 I have been taking Oxycontin for probably the last 4 weeks anywhere from 80-160 mg a day, and in the past week I have probably ingested 400 mcg of fyntnal. Ya I know what an idiot. I want to lead a normal life, I'm hurting so many people. I've kicked a hydro habit of about 20 norcos 10mgs a day in the past and it was tough, the most brutal WD symptoms were the cold sweats, waking up having to change my shirt and sheets.
Avatar m tn Does anybody have any home remedies or secrets that doctors, etc. just will not tell you (unlike Suboxone) that will help me get through the withdrawal side effects of taking 200mg/day or more of Oxycontin for over a year now? Trust me I have tried alot including Suboxone and tapering, nothing really works. Even rehab, made it through but then right back on after a month.
Avatar f tn MY personal opinion is to try NOT to resort to taking sleep remedies of any kind...and let the sleep restore itself naturally. Adding sleep remedies into the mix (even natural ones) can slow the overall process of normalizing your sleep patterns. As long as you're not going many days on end with NO sleep, you'll be okay. Tired, but okay.
Avatar f tn I am sure they will agree. Let us know when you will be beginning and we can recommend some home remedies that will help ease the process. Hang in there and post any questions you may have.
467604 tn?1214942333 i am digging through drawers to find anything and everything and i feel like i am going to flip out and the bad things is my kids are home for spring break!! what do i do! i am very nervous about being in here..but i am 27 and i have 2 small kids.
Avatar n tn While tapering, in order to continue work and not suffer withdrawal, I was given xanax. I became addicted at one time up to 25 mg.s a day, down to 15 now. It's been close to a year. What is the best way to detox without losing my job? If I take a medical leave for 30 days in December and take no xanax, will that be enough time or should I continue to slowly taper? Also, my rehab doctor has given me Prozac to help withdrawal from the xanax.
Avatar n tn I am just curious as to how bad withdrawal can be? It has been 60 hours now since my last dose and I believe I am starting to feel normal again. The last 2 days were very uncomfortable, but I didn't experience any throwing up or other symptioms that other talk about, just cold sweat and boredom and a general discomfort. It wasn't like I was on a small a small dose either. I was snorting 240 mgs of oxycontins for the past 2 - 3 months straight. Anyone have any comments??
Avatar n tn I mean think about it, what did they do in the olden days for medicine? They used home remedies, herbs, and etc. So I know that it works. But I would NOT go to a GNC and expect to get what ya need. I'd go to a hole in the wall, small herbal shop somewhere..make sure that they have taken some kind of classes or that they are certified in herbs. Because I went to a small herbal store and thats how I come to find my special regimen.
Avatar n tn I have to cut down and recently cut down to 10 a day and have experienced physical and emotional withdrawal symptoms. I have some clonidine and don't know how much to take for withdrawal. What is the recommended dosage. My goal is to eventually cut down to 4 a day, but have been very uncomfortable at 10. I also take effexor and trazadone for depression, but I am so depressed right now. Hydrocodone, believe it or not has helped my depression and has given me something to look forward to.
Avatar n tn I am convinced that these are the symptoms of codeine/hydrocodone withdrawal. WHAT do I do about this? I can't STAND it!!! I have three children to take care of (two of them are babies). I can't take care of myself now because I am "sick" so to speak. I have been completely honest with my husband about this. He agrees that this is probably withdrawal, I need to do "cold turkey" (what choice do I have anyway?) and tough it out for the next week or so.
Avatar n tn After I finished the project in mid-may, I decided that I needed to stop using a drug to get through the day, so I tried to just stop taking it. WOW! Serious withdrawal symptoms including joint and muscle pain, stomch issues, fatigue, depression and a strange hollowness in my nerves ensued. I didn't feel I could just stop functioning for a week or two or whatever it would take, so I used some hydrocodone that I had to help me get my tramadol use down to 100mg per day over the course of a week.
Avatar n tn My husband is currently in a detox/rehab facility for oxycontin abuse. My question is, that they are using Methadone to detox him, supposedly to "save" him from going thru the withdrawl symptoms. But, from everything I'm reading the methadone is just as hard to get off of, and some people end up on it for years........... Should they be using Methadone to detox him, and will he have to continue taking the Methadone once he is home?
Avatar f tn I've only been on the oxycontin for 2 months and I've been taking more and more every day to avoid feeling withdrawal. This past weekend I decided enough was enough and started cutting down to just the oxycontin and then just the oxycodone the past 24 hours. I flushed everything except 2 oxycontin because all of these threads say to get rid of it before trying to go cold turkey. I made it about 24 hours before i felt like I was going to die.
Avatar f tn I've been doing a fast taper and experiencing withdrawal like cold turkey. (not a novice) My question is what works best for the pain in my neck and head? I do not have access to excedrine and live 30 minutes away from a store which sells herbal remedies. It's a burning pain. I have nabumatone and baby aspirin as well as ibuprofen and celebrex. I alao considered imitrex. Any advice is truly appreciated. I am drinking water and Gatorade.
Avatar m tn Other medication you can take to help counteract it, home remedies, anything over the counter, anything really. I don't want to go all nutty like I did last time. Thanks for reading :) - Gustavo.
Avatar n tn Can anyone give me some help. I'm new to this. I was in a severe car accident that left me with 3 herniated discs and an annular tear in my l4-l5 disc. I have been on narcotic treatment for about 18 months. I was on methadone for about a year, and by the time I stopped it I was up to sometimes 80mg a day. I would take percocet for breakthrough pain, but I had a huge tolerance (I would take at least 3 10/325's at a time).
1190752 tn?1264647724 I was taking 5 (as prescribed ) 30 mg oxycodone a day ,and 3 -40mg oxycontin extended release daily for 2.5 years .I havent run out ever and i am sick , i have so much pain and fatigue and vomting and leg spasms ,etc..
Avatar n tn Thanks. But I'm pretty sure I won't be stopping on the way home anyway. I see myself going straight home & pretending I have the flu. What kind of thing is that to do to a great guy & the best kid in the world. But being on drugs is fake, too isn't it? I know I'm being awful to myself & I don't deserve it, truly. I guess I'll get better.
1303537 tn?1317804341 I spent almost 3 years on sub maintenance, went through a months-long withdrawal just to relapse as soon as withdrawal ended. I thought and was told repeatedly that it would be a lvery mild withdrawal. That information couldnt have been more wrong. The point I am trying to make is there is NO miracle cure. There is no get out of jail free card when it comes to this disease we have. Addiction is a lifelong battle.
220965 tn?1189759423 What are some of the best home remedies for stopping Oxycodone use? I have no money for the suboxone. I have been taking 5/325 8-10 a day for around 2 years prescribed by my VA doctor and I want to quit and I have tried but the withdrawals got the best of me? Any help is much appreciated.
Avatar n tn Oh - I suppose these are my intentions - and I guess I am looking for someone to agree and make be feel better about it! Nurofen is a lot less powerful than vicoden and I hoped that withdrawal might be easier...............
Avatar n tn If you just stop the physical withdrawal will be over in 5 or so days instead of dragging it out. Either way, let us know what you are going to do and we can recommend some home remedies to ease the process. We will be here for moral support as well.
