Avatar f tn Maybe you switch next month to something like 40mg BID (Twice a day) OxyContin plus 5 mg oxycodone QID (4 times a day) for breakthrough pain. This gives you 120mg / day, but without the huge ups and downs in serum opioid level you get from that 30mg pill. It is believed that those big swings in serum level accelerate opiate tolerance. As for the surgery, ask him to give you a little extra every day for the first month to deal with the surgery.

Avatar n tn Ive been taking .25 mg qid of clonazepam for 9 months. i still feel anxiety and panic feelings. would taking .5 mg tid increase the levels in my plasma? i realize that 1.5 mg a day is more than 1 mg, but have heard ryan say that the more times a day you take it the more it increases in your plasma. so .25 mg a day will result in higher concentrations than 1 mg once a day. so what would have higher concentration of plasma levels, .25 qid or .5 tid?
Avatar n tn Elijah, You surely have hope for a long happy life for him. Take it from me (a stage 4 survivor). 1) Deeply research Ketogenic Diet and get him started on it. Aggressive brain tumors are most vulnerable to that. 2) Implement the 4 big antiogenesis herbs: -Green Tea Extract -Circumin (Surface Controlled Particles) (I use TheraCumin) -Garlic - Ginseng 3) Implement the Big Stem Cell Attackers - Reservratrol (Use Trans Rservratrol) The ketogenic diet should be a RKD (Restricted Type).
Avatar n tn Would it be overkill to get a monitor like this to use at home? http://www.amazon.com/Omron-HEM-907XL-IntelliSense-Professional/dp/B000FENZPS/ref=sr_1_1?s=hpc&ie=UTF8&qid=1301417340&sr=1-1 I've seen this particular one in more than one clinic...do you have to somehow maintain or calibrate these professional monitors like the one I linked to above, or do you just use them for life without any cares? I have this one right now, but am worried it's not always accurate...
Avatar f tn Keep in mind that you are still developing and despite what your doctor says you can still grow. A female does not stop growing until age 19. You have a good five years to increase your height. I started my growth spurt at a young age too and I was 4' 10" at age 14. I was also told by my doctor that I would not grow anymore. By age 20 I was 5' 3". I proved him wrong. Everybody's body is different.

Avatar n tn My Mom is 87 and in a lot of pain at night. Her knee hurts and cramps up and it seems like this device would help her. Mom's concerned about using it because she doesn't know if it is appropriate after the knee surgery she had at least a decde or more ago. I cannot see the harm in trying. Does anyone know? https://www.amazon.com/FIT-KING-Massager-Compression-Circulation/dp/B08F1GSS69/ref=sr_1_5?
Avatar f tn A Dragon Book about Mindfulness. Teach Your Dragon To Be Mindful caught my eye for several reasons. See if it or one of the others in the series would be helpful. It can be found here.... https://www.amazon.com/Mindful-Dragon-Mindfulness-Mindful-Mindfulness/dp/1948040107/ref=sr_1_19_sspa?ie=UTF8&qid=1525385687&sr=8-19-spons&keywords=hands+are+not+for+hitting&psc=1 And there are things like Sensory Processing Disorder or even ADHD that can look a lot like Autism.

Avatar f tn Hi, first let me congratulate you on beginning your weight loss journey. It takes alot of courage and effort. Its good that you are doing a lot of cardio because that will help you burn fat but you need to do more resistance training than just lifting weights with your arms and 100 situps. The key to weight loss is quality not quantity. Sometimes when you overdo workouts you may cause stress hormones to be released which can cause you to not lose any fat or gain muscle.
17277382 tn?1455209810 Hi TMJLady, It's good to hear from you again - but sorry to hear about your increased pain. You've obtained some good suggestions, as usual. My first PMP - the best Doc in the world :o) - didn't believe in tolerance as much as she did a worsening of the condition causing the pain. I tend to agree with her assumption. However I'm not so stupid that I don't realize that tolerance does occur. I just think the numbers are much smaller than most providers report.
