What do you usually take for your pain? Is it possible you vomited them up? I don't see how you could possibly have taken even just one of those and been okay.

What exactly is Oxycodone HCL 30 mg? My sister was getting 100 pills a week since Dec 2008 for this amount.
Isn't this quite a bit for someone who has a bulging disk in her back?
One week prior to her starting the 30 mgs, she was taking 15 mg @ 100 a week.

I was reading up the effects of crushing up the oxys and it read that doin so would or could result in an overdose.. i am in the process of tapering off... i was just woundering just for peice of mind what the dose would have to be to actually overdose... i am currently on 120mgs a day and dropping.. i am scared a night sometimes to fall asleep do to respitorie depression.. thanks any feedback would be appriciated.
I'm on so much medicine for my chronic pain and they are always changing it. A lot of times, I end up cutting my dose in half if I think I don't need as much but still need something.
Okay, right now, before I had my coffee, I made a mistake. I cut 1/2 my oxycontin 40 mg. in half thinking it was my 30 mg, oxycodone. I had already taken my 40 mg. oxycontin at around 6 am like I'm supposed to. Went back to sleep and woke up to take my break through and accidently broke the 40 mg.

Indeed, some very tolerant people can take an extended release 80 mg oxycontin tablet. However, that could be a very dangerous pill for another person, for whom it was not prescribed. And if you cut it it becomes even more dangerous (hopefully this is harder with the newer formulation).
Recently I read that if you take more than 40 mg of OxyContin at one time then it can cause death or permanent brain damage. Well when I was ages 14 and 16 I took one of my mom's 80 mg OxyContin pill and I remember I felt like throwing up for like 16 hours straight. I took it in the evening, went to bed, and woke up the next day still very nauseous. I started to feel completely fine about 20 hours after I took it.
some would argue that as hydro is their doc...and oxycontin has no tyelonol///pers do...so oxycontin can be abused more easily..ie snorting and shooting...neither r a picnic to get off of...at 12 days u have a good bit of clean time...what were the reasons u quit 12 days ago??? they havent changed and it will take some time for ur brain to heal..u r possibly depressed and using to avoid the doomer feelings u r having...can u hang tight?

Am I reading your post correctly that you were taking 80 mg of Oxycontin 3x per day and 40 mg of Oxycontin 3x per day? If yes, keep reading...LOL. I thought you wrote that you were taking 80 mg and 40mg total of Oxycontin per day. That is why my post to your other thread stated that you were on more medicine through Fentanyl than through Oxycontin. That is not the case if you taking the 80 mg and the 40 mg 3x per day. That is 120 mg x 3 or 360 mg of Oxycontin per day vs.
Does anyone know if an overdose of oxcotin can cause kidneys to start shutting down? My mother who is elderly and very small and frail was given oxycotin for severe pain for gout. She slept for 4 days straight and they couldn't wake her up in those 4 days. Now, we\re told her kidneys are starting to shut down. We know she was given too much oxycotin as we heard one of the doctors in the ER mention the amount she was given.
Based on taking 15 mg of immediate release oxycodone every 5-6 hours, the optimal oxycontin dose is between 30 mg - 40 mg every 12 hours for a total of 60 mg - 80 mg of total oxycodone in 24 hours. Taking a 40 mg oxycontin every 12 hours would release about 3 mg of oxycodone every hour. Multiply the 3 mg of oxycodone by 5 hours and it equals 15 mg, which is roughly equivalent to the amount of immediate release oxycodone you were taking every 5-6 hours.
i stoped this drug for 2 months and yesterday i decided to take it but the last prescription the pharmacy made each tablet 100 mg. and i forgot thinking it was only 25 mg and yesterday i took 2 tablets of 100 mg ( 200mg) thnking they were both only 50 mg. yesterday i didn't sleep as my legs started shaking and kicking all nights , my heart beats so fast, and i feel nausious and dizzy. now i'm still feeling the same and a little bit of fever.

Hi, I've just quit oxycontin 40 mg 2x a day for severe back pain.. . I was abusing them,and not for the first time. It has been a living hell. I wound up at the hospital after my husband called 911 because I took an overdose of different meds that didn't put me dowm.
I took a 30 mg tablet of Tylenol 3 and 2 naproxens 500 mg each. About an hour later I took 4 more 500mg naproxen, an hour after that 4 more. I wasn't thinking of anything other than stopping the pain. About an hour after that I took an adult sized dosage of Nyquil. I awoke Monday morning with a sharp pain in my upper abdomen. The pain comes and goes but stays longer each time it "hits".
I have been taking 10mg of lexipro four three years.My medical dr. prescribed 20 mg of lexipro. My anxiety sent me back to my pyciatrist. He said to stay on the 10mg because I had too much anxiety about taking the 20. Anyway I accidently took a 20 mg tablet this morning. My dr is out today. But the receptionist told me to go back to 10 mg tomorrow. So I wondered if this was safe? I should add that I have health anxiety..
They have me on 30 mg oxycontin, twice daily, 10/325 percocet 6 a day, soma 4 times daily and xanax 2 mg for anxiety.
What are my options for the breakthrough pain, that is what I am taking the percocet for and I need to stop with the Tylenol already enough is enough. I talked with my doc last time I was there to see her, and this is when she switched me to the percocet from Vicoprofen, due to the fact that it was doing nothing for the pain.
