Hello All, Did anyone out there see the documentary on TV last night called the Oxycontin Express? I was an eye-opening documentary about how so many people are overdosing and getting arrested for purchasing Oxy's from pain clinics in Florida and reselling them where they live. It was scary to hear the statistic that almost 90% of all Oxy's prescribed are coming from pain clinics in Florida that just prescribe pain pills, zanex, valium, and other hard to get drugs.

The show is called Oxycontin Express. I just saw it today and wow its crazy. Its a documentary about the problem the state of Florida has. They say over 9 million oxy's are RX'd from Florida alone, and people make pilgrimages from all over the US to get their pills from these "pain clinics" that take cash only.

Love that documentary, so informative, makes you realize how stupid our system is and misleading.

For those of us expecting twins I just viewed the National Geographic documentary "In the Womb, Multiples" It really explained their growth process and was informative as well as touchingly beautiful. I ordered it for my DH to view.

Have any of you ladies seen the documentary? If so, what is your intake on the documentary? Did it make you think differently, and are you still sticking with your birth plan or ??? I just seen the documentary and I'm still tryna soak it all in...a little lost and confused at the moment but wanted to see what you ladies had to say.

Hi Ladies, some of you might already know this, but there is a documentary being run on New York PBS channels, so you ladies that can watch it and spread the word for others to watch, here is a cut and paste of the info and link for Libby's Hope where there is a 2 minute video on the preview. Wish it was being shown all over, looks like it's going to a fabulous 30 minute show, but does look like PBS might be spreading it over the next months to come.

So many dogs dying suddenly, often young and healthy. Weird symptoms, often no warning. This is not natural or a coincidence. What dog foods are you feeding them or preventative medications are you giving them? This stuff has very lax safety standards, not like human food and products. They can put pretty much anything they want in your pet's food. We need to all get to the bottom of this. I watched a documentary that was very eye opening.

Loved this documentary! I wish I had seen it before I had my daughter 6 years ago. I had a c section with her from fetal distress because, I believe, I chose to be induced instead of letting nature take its course. I am now 34 wks with baby #2 and am trying my hardest to attempt a Vbac but since I have gestational diabetes this time around my Dr wont let me go the full 40 wks....

I watched that documentary too. And while it makes alot of since and it helped me figure out what i don't want and won't allow im going to use some sort of pain management either it be epidural or something else. I.have an EXTREMELY low pain tollarenct and know that it will help me be able to enjoy the experience. But it solely ur choice. Im a ftm and did a ton of research b4 making my decision. Also try to keep an open mind in case things don't go as planned.

Absolutely a documentary would be great... I just think that if they showed us in a "real" light more people would get a better idea of living with this and also living with others who have it. Stupid Hollywood would try and turn it into a HBO or Showtime series where women are painting their ceilings with their hands at 3am or someone cutting themselves while plastered to the couch...

Love that documentary! I agree, everyone needs to watch it. Even those who dont plan on going natural, every woman deserves to be informed about the risks involved so they can make educated decisions.

I found that documentary to be so interesting! Anyone ever gotten a root canal done and now has PATm? I’ve never gotten one done but I’m just wondering.

The Stephen Fry documentary I watched on Bipolar Disorder stated in one part that once people with Bipolar Disorder get on medication they usually have to stay on it because of problems like this.

I just got through watching the business of being born and it goes through the process of midwife births and hospital births and if you have never seen this documentary you should it opens a lot of questions. anyways I guess my question is who is going to have a home birth with a midwife and who is going to the hospital ?

in any case, I could go on forever, but the main reason for this post was to share this new documentary with everyone that I found out about today! It is quite interesting and it is SO true. maisah, is this like, an educational documentary, or is this a reality show? If it's a medical documentary for medical students, great. If it's a reality show, RUN AS FAST AS YOU CAN. You will be victimized.

You need to watch the documentary, The Business of Being Born on Netflix. It will really change your perspective on a lot. But i would not recommend any drug to speed up labor. It cuts the baby's oxygen and blood flow.

A friend of mine has been telling me about ibogain. does anyone know more about it? my brother is on oxycontin and some other pills that i don't know the name of and he really just needs to detox off them. Has anyone had any ibogaine treatment. if so has it helped you get off the drugs?

if you haven't seen the documentary "pregnant in America" I definitely recommend it. It'll surely open your eyes to things!

I watched the documentary last night with my baby daddy. It didn't change my mind about much. I don't want a midwife or a home birth but I do want it as natural as possible. And it also made me realize to stand up for myself in the hospital. I've always noticed so many women getting c sections and a lot of times they're not necessary. I think everyone should watch it its on Netflix.
