oxycontin coma

Hello, I have been on Oxycontin for a few months now (very low dose) and notice it only works about 5 hours. If my doctor increased my dose would it work closer to 8-12 hours? (I have been taking 15mg every 6 hours). I am thinking if I just take the whole 30mg maybe it would last longer than taking it in halves and when I reach 8 hours take break through meds. Anyone know if you have taken a higher dose if it last longer?

can spinal surgery and or pinched nerve to the brainstem cause a person to go into a coma. mri shows everything is clear,and breathing on own.

My daughter is in a coma, I sometimes feel she hears me and maybe even vaguely sees me, should I try to do this when I feel she is a little alert even if shes in a coma?? Or do I have to wait for her to wake up from the coma to do this?? She also has a tube in her nose, for feeding purposes. Today I am going to try and do as you suggested and see what her response will be.

I have been happily managing my pain with Fentanyl 100Mcg patches and one day I started having insane abdominal pain and axiety and stress and it's awful. If I take Oxycontin on an empty stomach I sometimes get relief and sometimes I don't. I have long acting Morphine Sulfate 30mg tablets and sometimes those help and sometimes they make it worse. I have stopped the Fentanyl and my abdomen is on fire. Can anyone tell me what is going on? I have tons of opiods and none of them help?

tonight my fiancee and i quit using oxycontin(about 250mg for me and 150mg a day for her for the last three months) . We have lost much and are on the brink of losing all. I was wondering how long someone can be in a drug induced (barb coma). I gather this is very hard on the body. We have a family member that is in such a coma who has had seizures. They are trying to wean her off the medication now to bring her out of the coma but if she has more seizures, they will take her back to the coma state. It's funny you'd mention the dog meds, a neighbor of mine is (or was) doing just that, taking his dogs prescription pain medicine. It's a pretty sad thing to see but that's a different story.
