How old are you? How progressed is your disease? If you do decide to quit, I urge you to get with your pain management doctor to devise a taper plan and possibly try some non narcotic things to keep your pain under control.
My brother is 23, he has been addicted to oxycontin for 3 years. He recently was arrested and charged with poss. of a controlled substance with intent to manufacturer, deliver or sell. He had a large amount of oxycontin in his car and was not selling it. I'm his sister (25) and i bailed him out of jail. He has come to live with me. I want him to get sober, The charges are likely to be dropped because the cop broke his wrist while the police video SHOWS he is not resisting arrest at all.
Take me to a island, I panicked so bad I told them my husband was coming to surprise them, I said I needed to meet him and my kids for coffee, I had a cleaner call my husband, tell him to come asap.
I thought they killed the guy next to me, convinced husband and daughter, but they said he just was moved. no morphine is not my friend.

I always take my medication appropriately. This is the first time I've messed up. (My pain doc won't be in until Tuesday.) What should I expect in doing this? I have a high tolerance. Before they switched me to the oxycontin the other day I was taking 45 mg. oxycodone every 3 to 4 hours.
I'm also drinkin my first cup of coffee in about 3 yrs and plan on goin out later to buy a coffee maker. Haha ... the only thing I've taken these past 3 days is tylenol, too scared to take a bunch of stuff and possibly get hooked on something else. I should mention , I also kicked the habit in Feb of 06 and started using again in Jun of 06. Yea not too long sober =( this time I vow to stay sober 4 life!
About 7 years ago, I was attacked by a customer at work (at a famous coffee company that shall remain nameless lol), and have had chronic back pain since. Then, 2-3 years ago, I fell down some stairs, and now I have sciatica in my left leg. Yay clumsiness! So, I have a couple of herniated discs, some arthritis, plus which, the sciatica. Six years ago, I decided to try pain management.
m right and these headaches are being caused by the analgesics the only solution I see here is to somehow wean totally off the oxycontin. The bone and muscle pain is unbearable and I cannot walk without the oxycontin but the headaches incapacitate me too. I don't want to simply exist. I want to participate in life.
The other day he was here and at about 5p.m. he sat in a chair and feel asleep and could not keep his eyes open at all....a couple of hours later we woke him to eat some dinner...he had a couple of bites and then bent over and held his sides like his stomach was hurting him and then needed a blanket because he said he was cold.
They put me on lots of pain meds including morphine, percocet and oxycontin. I am home and have to go to PT twice weekly which is quite painful. I went to my surgeon on 11/2 and he said to wean off of oxycontin and oxycodone. He didn't explain how to go about that. My husband cut the oxycontin in half and I took that once at night and once in the morning for 3 days. When I thought about the next steps to get off the oxycodone, I thought to call the pharmacy for advice.
Accidentally overdosed on oxycontin. Was in alot of pain and took too many. Coming down from the high dose to my usual dose was horrendous. It was a week from hell. Had alot of anxiety, restlessness and agitation. Also was vomiting alot. Having a bad urinary infection didnt help matters. Couldn't sit still. Had to be on the move all the time. Couldn't eat, sleep. bath, shave or brush my teeth. Wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy.
I know I shouldn't have coffee, but sometimes I crave it and my doctor says it's okay. I enjoy creamer in it as well. Is creamer ok to put in my morning coffee? Or should it just drink isn't black when a craving occurs?
s generally no reason you should stop drinking coffee. That said, coffee, even decaf, does tend to weaken the LES. (Caffeine is a heavy contributor to this, though not the sole contributor.)
Recommendation: Avoid caffeinated coffee. Otherwise you should be fine. Wait a few weeks after the operation before trying, though.
