oxycodone with clonidine

Well, as one could imagine over the years my doses have turned from viodic, to oxycodone to fentanyl patches and oxycodone. Now I have beeen taking 15 patches of 100 mcg of the patch and 300 5mg tabs of oxycodone because of supposed arthritis in my back.. Now I am wanting off of these meds for good, My back pain still feels very real as I am now day 6 into my last patch and ocycodone pill. I went to the ER two nights ago because I feet so bad coming off of those drugs. What can I do.

ve tried almost all of them. Gabapentin is my favorite. Clonidine, Trazadone and benzos helped me sleep. Then there's Imodium and the Thomas Recipie. Those items will get you through without too much discomfort, but ..... What's you're plan to fight this long term? If you aren't determined-enough, it's all for naught.

Hey all, new member long time reader... I know its a little long winded but please take the time to read. I really could use some help! After a severe wreck breaking my back I was sent to a pain management doctor in 2006. Started out with no education with opiates and other meds. Started out taking them as prescribed and them moving on the other ways for the quicker high I realized I was a full blown addict. The Dr was raising/changing my meds every several months.

I just found out that because my doctors have given me clonidine Valium and oxycodone this has interfered with my detoxing off of the methadone . It's been 22 days off methadone and I couldn't figure out hy I keep having waves of anxiety and depression. I was just told by a person that it's because those other drugs have been interfering with my detox. Please I need help to get off all this crap I don't trust my doctors any more and don't know what to do .

Does clonidine really help with easing some of the yucky wd feelings??

Ive been on Oxycodone for 5 years. My dosage has slowly increased from 40mg day to 120 mg day. Sad thing is i am still in pain and I don't remember my pain EVER being tgis bad bedore I went on any medication. I have RA and FMS and I'm also doing infusions for my RA. I've decided I'm sick of being broke due to paying for my pain management Dr and still being in pain. My life revolves around how many pain pills I have and I've missed out on so much.

5 hours, so typically most people can even go as much as 48 hours inbetween doses. Clonidine will help with the restlessness associated with withdrawal - that helped me a lot when I went off the suboxone. Stay on 8mg for a few days, then try and cut that in half and go for maybe a week, then start to cut that in half and so on - you should be able to drop off in a couple weeks without much of a problem. Anything longer than 21 days or so will result in some dependency.

Can Someone PLEASE tell me how long before the "anxious" type symptoms go away when coming off Oxycodone. I was taking 60mg/day for about 12years and have gone down to nil over the past 15 days. I'm struggling with this and just would like to know...WHEN DOES IT STOP?? I'm on Clonidine am and pm to assist...just doesn't seem enough. It took me all of last year to wean off Fentyl Duragesic 100mcg/q2days.

I went to my PCP today about getting off the fentanyl (200 ug / 2 days) and oxycodone (120 mg twice / day for BT pain). She was very supportive -- maybe too supportive?!? She decreased my fentanyl to 175 every 2 days but left the oxy as is--she said I may need it for extra pain. She also prescribed clonidine 1-2 mg 2x day as needed at my request as well as ambien for sleep. I also asked for gabepentin to help with pain but she didn't want too many variables at one time.

I am working on getting off the pain meds and put on something less addictive, My choice. My doctor has me trying 0.1mg Clonidine along with all the other stuff I take. He told me to break them in half at first. He was saying I should not get sleepy from this. Is this true? Also I take 1 30mg tab in the morning and halves to little less than half about 2 or 3 hours there after of the pain med. When is a good time to take the Clonidine ? Any advise would be great thank you.

he said this could be done safely and with no side effects...way he ever wrong. I suffered for 2 weeks with depression, no sleep...the regular things a person goes through when detoxing. You can try suboxone if it is available where you are. I never tried it but there are some here that say it saved their life. Good luck to you and keep posting. I have a hard time remembering what each medicine is, generic name versus brand names. I'm once again having a hard time controlling the pain. I have come down to a very small dose and I haven't been using anything long acting. My goal was to see if I could manage on nothing or very little and it's very clear that my quality of life is nonexistent on such a low dose. I'm taking oxycodone 10 mg. every 4 hours. I essentially get about an hour to 1.

Can i use it without having any big problems and getting re addicted to the methadone as long as i stick to my guns and stop right away. I used to take some clonidine with the methadose and when i was down to 10 mgs after 4 yrs i took Kratom and i made it through the withdrawals with minimal problems.

5 eventually it got to a point where the only way to help the pain was to take 5 hyrdo 5s at a time an it was several times a day an everything got out of control i was takin 4-5 oxycodone 10mg at a time to stop the pain i have stopped doing that now its just one oxy 10 3-4 times a day spaced out but i run out very early an am stuck with drawlin as we speak i have clonidine butit does nothin im so aggravated im in severe pain with severe cramps in my legs an back i shake i sweat but also get co

Hi, As with most of us I started out light...a couple of vicodin a day 10 years ago to help out with arthritis and bone issues. Now I'm on oxycodone and can no longer stick to the prescribed amount. I would guess 8 to 10 15 mgs per day...orally. I'm really freaked out about withdrawals. My husband has had some serious surgeries recently and chemotherapy so I have to be able to take care of him on top of trying to deal with the withdrawal symptoms.

The withdrawls are just THAT, they will go away. Get clonidine if possible maybe a dr. will help you with that, and a few tranzene. These will help to keep you stable, or in your skin. Post and read others post, you are not alone! Hugs Ella789 25 days opiate free!!

I hear you with that! Ask your dr about Clonidine. It's a blood pressure med that will stop the hot flashes in their tracks!

I quit Cold Turkey Diluadid and Oxycodone the last week this April 09; I was hit with hell on earth withdrawals. First 72 hours: the freezing/burning skin, all fluids and solids leave the body, violently, out of body experiences, complete loss of ego and identity. Second 72 hrs those symptoms ease up and its RLS, soreness, insomnia, crawling flesh, emotions jumping from crying to extreme rage as Ego and Identity return etc... See you Dr.

Does clonidine help with the pain of opiate withdrawal? How does it help, what w/d symptoms does it alleviate, and are there bad side effects or withdrawal symptoms from the clonidine itself if taken for 5 days or so? Has anyone tried it?

Day 5.....off the oxycodone. I have gotten some energy back and went to work yesterday. I am having trouble sleeping now and my blood pressure is off the charts. Is this from the withdrawal and has anyone had this problem? If so, is there any suggestions to help calm me down, (besides drugs!

I finally admitted I had a problem with Oxycodone. My usual pain management doctor is out of town but his back up put me on a weaning schedule. She has me weaning every three days to one pill less. How bad are the withdrawls going to be? Or will I not even notice? Last night I had an hard time sleeping but during the day I am fine.

I am disabled Vietnam veteran, on 5 mg. Oxycodone- 6 pills per day- for almost 5 years. I am now on my 4th day plus 22 hours of no Oxy. pills and I feel like crap! I am also prescribed 2 mg Loaraepam daily by the VA so I break a pill into half and that helps my withdrawls. How long will I feel so bad? I never get a cold and I have had flu sypmtons since yesterday, ie, weak mucles, runny nose.

Bendaryl helped me with sleep. My doctor also gave me Clonidine to help with the withdraw symptoms and to help me sleep. I am on day 4. Good Luck!

can you ask your doctor for zanaflex its a muscle relaxer oddly enough I think it might help with the chills. I am sure it will help with the aches and pains to did wonders for me .

I was doing 45 mg. oxycodone every 3 to 4 hours plus lorazapam plus ibuprofen and cymbalta and clonidine. THen they changed to oxycontin 40 mg. 3 times a day plus the others (minus the 45 mg. oxycodone.) I have the option of taking 5, 10, 15, or 30 mg. of oxycodone for breakthrough pain. I thought I was breaking the 30 mg. oxycodone (as I'm out of the 15 mg.) for pain. This can get very confusing. Thanks for your help.

but then it was kind of like I was fed up with having pain after having increased pain for days and days and days with the taper, and I just wanted a few hours with good pain relief. so I took a 10 mg oxycontin ~8pm and then 5mgs percocet at 11pm when the oxycontin did not do it b/c I just wanted to feel comfortable for awhile.
