oxycodone vs tylox

I have been taking Oxycodone 30mg for almost 3 years. Started on 5mg and my dr increased over the years. I have two hernitated discs in my back & my pain at time was so awful. I finally received a epidural and starting to feel better. Saw my dr today and he stopped my oxycodone and put me on Butrans patch 20mg. It has not been 24 hrs yet and I am starting to get ill. Will this get better? He told me I would be fine, but I feel super sick.

i googled it and it is 5 mg of oxycodone with tylenol in it as well...we are both nurses and have given tylox out to patients over the years...just never stopped to look up the ingredients although of course we knew it was a narcotic...looking back, i remember having tylox before a long time ago for pain and it just made me sleepy.

I had(it is now gone) a script for tylox. I took a couple of my mother-in-laws lortab the other day. Does anyone know if a probation urine drug screen will be able to tell the difference between the two opiates? I know the tylox is oxycodone and the lortab is hydrocodone and both med contain acetaminephen(sp).

I am not sure if those medications would test positive for Morphine, but they would definitely cause him to test positive for narcotics.

My husband and I are both permanently disabled and are on the same medication, Tylox. I get 6 a day and he is on 8 a day. I have been on pain meds since an auto accident in 2002 and he has been on them just as long if not longer. I have watched him suffer many times from running out of meds a week after getting his prescription and now he is, again, going through the withdrawals. Month after month he runs out early and asks me for some of mine or has to go find some elsewhere.

I have ovarian cysts, so I deal with quite a bit of pain almost daily. I had a prescription for oxycodone(tylox). I ran out of it, I took a couple of my mother-in-laws hydrocodone(lortab). I have to take a urine drug screen. Will they be able to tell the difference between the two opiates? I know I should not have taken a script that is not for me but sometimes the pain is almost unbearable!

An I also never knew that tylox was oxycodone! I am a nurse and just never knew that til i picked up his script for him...i have never taken those but i do wish they were not here...i will just have to deal with it...they were on the counter when i got home and i put them in his bag so i dont have to stare at them all the time!

than the other- oxycontin is the exact same chemical as oxycodone- just in a coated tablet that releases the med slowly. And Perc or Tylox is oxycodone with tylenol- same category as the oxycontin as far as "power." Why were you asking?? Just curious...

I have been in pain management for years now and slowly moved up an up on the narcotics pain meds list. For the last year i have been on a Large dose of oxycodone. I get 220 (30 Mg)s a month. I take about 45 mgs every 4 hours as needed. ( I take 1 and a 1/2 at a time) I feel like this is a HUGE dose.

The oxy seemed to escalate quite rapidly vs increases needed when I was on hydromorph products. Which is stronger? Which is slower to build up tolerence to? Is it different for different people? I stopped taking oxy on my own, & basically brought them to the dr. & said I wasn't taking these. I had had a very very strange week of no sleeping, confusion etc. .. My husband & I figured it out to be the addition of lyrica.

I thought by switching to Belbuca I could manage the pain with less side effects, as this is what I have been told. Any comments/insight on the differences in Belbuca and Oxycodone, I would love to hear from you.

Roxicodone and Percocet have the same narcotic - oxycodone. The difference between the Roxi and Perc is the Tylenol, which is found in the Percocet. Will the Perc work better? That depends on the person, honestly. They say coupling Tylenol with Oxy (or Hydrocodone) increases the effectiveness of the narcotic. Pharmacologically, I'm sure there is a valid reason to couple the two, but the reality is that i probably depends on the person using them. So your Perc 7.5/325 is 7.
