There is no easy answer because it depends upon how long you have been taking an opiate. The major problem is respiratory depression and resultant respiratory arrest. A patient regularly taking opiates can take 80-100 mg of oxycodone and suffer no respiratory difficulties. A new patient, however, staring at that dose may stop breathing. Similarly, if there is a hiatus and several weeks elapse the 80-100 mg of oxycodone may cause death because the cells reset.
I have tried, along with my local Neurologist, Neurontin, Tegretol, Lyrica, and on my own, OTC Naproxen. Nothing has helped. As I stated earlier, the Oxycodone does make what I have going on tolerable, and I am able to function. But, there is no real relief from the pain. I have also tried accupuncture, accupressure, and some homeopathic treatments. I may, and I know it, just have to live with it. Did I think I could find a "magic wand" at this web site?

- 2 fish oil soft gels 1200mg (Walgreens brand) ,

The oxy seemed to escalate quite rapidly vs increases needed when I was on hydromorph products. Which is stronger? Which is slower to build up tolerence to? Is it different for different people? I stopped taking oxy on my own, & basically brought them
to the dr. & said I wasn't taking these. I had had a very very strange week of no sleeping, confusion etc. .. My husband & I figured it out to be the addition of lyrica.
No constapation and been taking ibprofin for pain
I have been on oxycodone 15mg. Four times a day for four years. I am in such a horrible trap. I thought by switching to Belbuca I could manage the pain with less side effects, as this is what I have been told. Any comments/insight on the differences in Belbuca and Oxycodone, I would love to hear from you.
Roxicodone and Percocet have the same narcotic - oxycodone. The difference between the Roxi and Perc is the Tylenol, which is found in the Percocet.
Will the Perc work better? That depends on the person, honestly. They say coupling Tylenol with Oxy (or Hydrocodone) increases the effectiveness of the narcotic. Pharmacologically, I'm sure there is a valid reason to couple the two, but the reality is that i probably depends on the person using them.

on day 10....today my doctor prescribed me Naproxen for my chronic back pain. I know I could search this, but would rather ask anyone with any experience with it's use. Good idea or not to use after 10 days clean. I dont even know if it's a "mild" narcotic or not, however I believe it's similar to Aleeve. Advice? thanks in advance.

I took a urine test at my doctors as i do once a month to re4ceive my precription of oxycodone, an naproxen for my bad hip problem do to installing carpet and flooring for 31 years. problem is they said i tested positive for methadone. wich ive never taken although i did take a sip of cough syrup that said on the label prometh /vc codeine syrup could this be mistaken for methadone. i had the normal oxycodone in my system.
I have been taking Oxycodone 30mg for almost 3 years. Started on 5mg and my dr increased over the years. I have two hernitated discs in my back & my pain at time was so awful. I finally received a epidural and starting to feel better. Saw my dr today and he stopped my oxycodone and put me on Butrans patch 20mg. It has not been 24 hrs yet and I am starting to get ill. Will this get better? He told me I would be fine, but I feel super sick.
