oxycontin
oxycodone hydrochloride, available 5mg, 10mg, 15mg, 20mg, and 30mg. The Only Difference Between These Two Medications that I see is the: inactive ingredients. Small Example: (Oxycodone) contains: magnesium stearate, microcrystaline cellulose, silicon dioxide and stearic acid, and numerous D&C, FD&C colors. (Roxicodone) contains sodium starch, glycolate, corn starch, lactose, and a few of the same that the Oxycodone contains.
Oxycontin is oxycodone hydrochloride. It is time release and should never be broken in half or quarters etc..because a fatal dose could be delivered.
Percocet, or its' generic Roxicet, contains oxycodone AND acetominophen(Tylenol).
It is not time release.
So...the difference is Oxycontin is much stronger and does not contain Tylenol; it is time release and is usually prescribed for use every 12 hours.

Is Oxycodone without Acetaminophen stronger than just Oxycodone Hydrochloride? My mother has been on Percocet for years, and for some reason her doctor has now switched her to just Oxycodone. She seems to think that 5mg of her new perscription is stronger than 10 of her old one(Oxy and acetaminophen...perc)! Is this true?
Being a late stage cancer patient, she had thousands of 10mg oxycodone around. I took all of her medication and began taking it regularly. I now realize it's because of the anti anxiety effects they had. I knew it was wrong and I was upset w myself but I was so caught up in grief I didn't care. I took up to 4 a day.. Sometimes 2 a day, and other than knowing it wasn't right, I really didn't think it effected my life.
I'm having problems with the new oxy formulation [ op]. I've taken opiate pain management from a doctor [s] for years. Recently I've determined I'm allergic to the op's and won't take them anymore, but luckily for me I've accumulate quite a few breakthru meds which are oxycodone. I was told it's the same opiate ingredient. I think it's called Hydrochloride something or other?
Zoloft (Sertraline Hydrochloride) is in a completely different family of medications. It is a SSRI Antidepressant. SSRI (selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor) is a class of antidepressants. It can be prescribed for several conditions but it is not an opiate.
Percocet (oxycodone) is an opiate. It is prescribed to control pain. Some ppl take the two drugs concurrently.

i been off oxycodone for a week now. ive been taking vitamins but i still feel like i have no energy and cant sleep at night. will i ever be normal again?

I live in WA state and have been prescribed Oxycodone by my Dr twice. Each time I went to get the prescriptions filled I was told that they were out of it and it was on back order due to some problem with the manufacturer. I went to 3 different pharmacies and got the same story. Is there something I should know here? Also both prescriptions were subsituted with Hydrocodone which contain acetaminophen. Due to my condition I am not supposed to take anything containing acetaminophen.
The doctor prescribed me to take 1 5mg oxycodone pill every hr as needed for pain. Is this safe.
So me and my wife have been taking oxycodone for about a year and a half now. We were taking about 120mg each a day and then about 8 months ago we cut down to 60mg each and still are doing that much each. We crush and snort them. We used to do a whole 30 at a time each but now I have us sharing a 15mg about 8 times a day so its a small dose but doesn't get us high. It just keeps us from feeling like ****!
