Oxycodone op

Common Questions and Answers about Oxycodone op

oxycontin

Avatar f tn m still having a lot of post-op pain, but they changed my morphine back to the oxycodone. Originally I think it was for the post-op period but I'm going to talk to the pain clinic about sticking with this (though later spreading the doses further apart.) Right now I'm taking 30 mg. oxycodone, one to one-and-a-half pills every three hours, and I definitely need them every three. Sleep is still eluding me, but hopefully that will come back soon.
725248 tn?1316162245 I was on the table for 6 hours, when I woke up I was in so much pain. They had me on 60mg morphine 3 X a day, 15mg oxycodone 10 X a day, 5mg valium 3 X a day. I know in the hospital they increased my morpine to 90mg and was also giving me percocet. The first two days/nights I hurt like hell. I was really wondering if I had made the right choice to have surgery. They were never able to get my pain under control, I was in the hospital for 5 days.
Avatar f tn Taking amoxicillin antibiotics already and my oxycodone is literally taking none of my pain away. Am I getting dry socket??
1044894 tn?1253339091 I was prescribed oxycodone/apap for pain and an antibiotic. I also had morphine in the hospital. I was wondering if this is just post-op gas pains, or something more serious. I also want to know if i could be relieved. I'm wiling to go to the doctor for it. Thank You !
Avatar n tn I do take two naproxen 220 mg along with one one 10 mg oxycodone IR tablet and two 300 mg gabapentin capsules in the the AM when I wake up. Oxycodone is a little bit stronger than Vicodin. But I agree with the first poster that you need to contact your pharmacist to make sure the combo is OK for you to take as everyone is different and you may have underlying medical conditions that would make it an unsafe. choice for you.
Avatar m tn I'm having problems with the new oxy formulation [ op]. I've taken opiate pain management from a doctor [s] for years. Recently I've determined I'm allergic to the op's and won't take them anymore, but luckily for me I've accumulate quite a few breakthru meds which are oxycodone. I was told it's the same opiate ingredient. I think it's called Hydrochloride something or other?
Avatar f tn I had foot surgery and I was doing great weaned down to only Vicodin and only at bed but went for a post op appt they had to dig for a few surtures took of casting put me in a boot AM allowed to put slight pressure on the heel only any way can you say going back wards in pain !
Avatar m tn I am currently taking or should I say prescribes to take 1 40mg oxy every 12 hours. I have 7 tabes to last me until this coming Tuesday when I can see my surgeon post op and get them corrected...Im pretty much screwd until Tuesday and I was wondering if you guys knew any tricks or something that will help me not run out of these 7 tabs until Tuesday?
Avatar f tn I had ZERO appetite for about like 9 weeks post-op and then it was a forced appetite. I lost over 40 lbs post-op but I was always thirsty so I stayed very hydrated. I never was given neck exercises either I just (as Viv said) returned to life. I hope she is feeling better soon!
Avatar f tn -) So-since your doctor is not wanting you to have tylenol then your will probably be getting Oxycodone HCL (the opiate without tylenol). Oxycodone APAP is the stuff with tylenol. Either way, be careful and use it for the shortest time possible. Oxy WD's can be a bit worse than hydrocodone WD's (so people say-and I agree). Taper yourself down from the higher amounts of Oxy as you find yourself needing less of the meds to control the pain.
Avatar f tn because this doc acted like there was no longer acting better effective meds I went to a different doc...she wants to give oxycodone but I just got my script for lorcet 2 weeks ago...what can I do? Thanks in advance!!!
Avatar f tn I had my gallbladder removed Wednesday and have been on Oxycodone since Wednesday night. For some reason it started affecting my sleep yesterday. I tried laying down for a nap but could not sleep. I slept an hour or two last night. When I try to go to sleep my thoughts start racing and I just cant sleep. I really could use some sleep. Help.
Avatar f tn Happy thanksgiving (belated) I am 2 weeks post op from 2nd surgery to repair a leak from 1st surgery. The surgeries were 6 weeks apart so I guess you could say I'm 8weeks from original one as well. 2nd time earound the recovery seems to be going somewhat better in that I did NOT have vomiting, fever, reaction to med(oxycodone) for which I am very grateful. My question is about pain meds.
Avatar f tn I had thought this patch was going to do the trick for me. I started it last Thursday morning, which means I changed the patch on Sunday morning. Well, Saturday it stopped covering the pain pretty much totally. I had pain Thursday and Friday but took my breakthrough medications (1 to 2 10 mg. oxycodone up to 4 times a day.) I felt like that wasn't quite enough but thought I'd adjust after a bit.
Avatar f tn hello everyone! i had decompression surgery dec 13 so im almost 3 weeks post-op. the past week i've been running a low grade fever. the other night it went up to 100.5 but i think thats about as far as its gone. i went to the doc a few days ago and he ran blood and urine tests. he didn't find anything unusual. no uti or other infections. but the past few nights i've been experiencing HORRIBLE headaches. SO much pressure and pain.
Avatar m tn A side note - there is post op pain - generally well managed by oxycodone, but your chest does get a pretty good beating. Good luck to you.
Avatar f tn I had arthroscopic rotator cuff surgery 2 days ago (SLAP repair, bicipital tenodesis, subacromial decompression, 2 partial tendons tear repairs). I was told pre-op I would likely wear the sling for 2 weeks and start PT then unless the repair was more extensive once he actually got in there. I will get to discuss it further at my 10-14 day post-op visit, but I did contact the triage nurse because I am scheduled to work 2.5 weeks post-op and need full use of both hands.
672379 tn?1229134609 The only medicine my doc prescribed was oxycodone, which I only took the first night home. I have been taking Tylenol, but actually haven't taken any today. I did try some camomile tea and that seemed to help some. I will try calling the doc tomorrow, but not really sure if there is much they can do. Hopefully it will just pass soon. I am tired of being bloated, but still have to say I have less pain now then I did before my surgery, so at least there is a positive side!
