Oxycodone not working

Common Questions and Answers about Oxycodone not working

oxycontin

8513688 tn?1398467158 I am currently using oxycodone 15 mg 4x a day and oxycontin 30 mg 2x a day. These meds have stopped working and my question is what else is there that I can take that will help with the pain? Is there something else that will replace what I am taking now that will relieve my pain? Please help..
Avatar n tn t helping with the Norco or the Vicodin then call your doctor and ask him/her if they intended you to take all three together and tell them they are just not working. You may want to ask for something to help you sleep too. If your not getting the rest you need then your body can not heal properly.
2107861 tn?1346470646 I have been taking Oxycodone 20mg four times a day for pain management but this has stopped working. I had a block a week ago and my pain is worse! Oxycodone is the only medication that does not make me sick. Does anyone have any suggestions on what I should do?????
Avatar f tn Also please ask your doctor or enquire at the lab, if they are using a oxycodone specific product for screening, as the more common opioid screening for morphiods does not detect oxycodone presence. Emphasize for the specific test. Hope this helped and do keep us posted.
Avatar n tn The pain has not subsided substantially. I was on 15mg MSContin twice daily and 5mg oxycodone every 6 hours for breakthrough pain. I discontinued the oxycodone after getting my most recent blood results myself to see if I was still experiencing the same pain, and I am for the most part. The only change is I think I need the oxycodone once or twice a day as opposed to all the time. That is not ok with me.
374225 tn?1269899262 My pain isn't going anywhere and the Oxycodone 10/325 really isn't working anymore. I want to stop and let my body have a go on it's own so that the medication starts to work again. I know that tapering is ideal but I'm more of a bull in a china shop and would prefer to just stop. Can I just cold turkey Oxycodone? Is that safe? I realize it's not fun but there's no harm in it right?
Avatar n tn Want to get off oxycodone, used for fibromyalgia pain and get on something not addicting.
Avatar f tn No not yet i have an app in a couple of days
Avatar f tn Yes we are snorting the pills, all of them. I know its really bad and I can't believe we are doing this but I have hope. We have all ready cut our mg per day in half once before from 120 to the 60 we are at now each. I have enough pills to taper down to 45mg each but that's it. After that I am not buying any more and I'm not going back to the doc for a refill.
Avatar f tn I went to the drs today and explained that the oxy 15s I was prescribed were not working as well as the 10/325s I was on so my dr. gives me morphine 30 mgs I have taken a few they dont seem very strong either. I was told I was not allowed to switch for a while. I will have to just make them work. will they start working better in a while or am I just stuck on then?
Avatar f tn What i would suggest is you talk to your doctor and tell him how the Vicodin are working or not working for you and asks what he suggests. He might consider a different med or he might prescribe something to help with the itching. Good luck to you.
Avatar f tn I am working my taper. I am currently down to 15mg of oxycodone a day. Not feeling too bad except for the exhaustion. I am currently working at getting mentally ready for another round of withdrawals (~25 days ago I got off Fentanyl) and am planning on going CT in two weeks. Good luck to everyone else coming off opiates. Gosh, I can't wait to be free. I also set up an appt with another doc concerning my back problems.
Avatar f tn However, that being said, many on here DO safely detox at home from oxycodone. How much are you using per day and for how long? Looking forward to getting to know you :).
Avatar f tn Suboxone is just another thing to withdraw from so be careful taking that. You only took a very small dose so it may not be strong enough. Are you working with a doctor? If so I'd talk to them about it.
356518 tn?1322263642 I just do not know what else to do. I have got the brand of oxycodone I was taking before and I still can't keep them down. I had gotten a different brand and I thought that this was the problem as I would just throw them back up after about fifteen minutes, but I have my usual brand now and have the same problem. This has been going on for sometime now. My doctor has given me several different medicines to help but they are not helping at all.
Avatar m tn had knee surgery and was taking 5mg pill of oxycodone did nothing to pain googled and stupid me it said snorting would help effects. did it once and now have a dull pain in right lung below pectoral muscle and same spot in back that goes to throat. need answers please not a lecture i know i screwed up.
Avatar f tn Ive been on Oxycodone for 5 years. My dosage has slowly increased from 40mg day to 120 mg day. Sad thing is i am still in pain and I don't remember my pain EVER being tgis bad bedore I went on any medication. I have RA and FMS and I'm also doing infusions for my RA. I've decided I'm sick of being broke due to paying for my pain management Dr and still being in pain. My life revolves around how many pain pills I have and I've missed out on so much.
725248 tn?1316162245 My pain doctor has me on 20mg oxycodone twice a day and up to 6-10/325 norco a day, prior to the oxycodone he had me on 15mg oxycontin twice a day. I am not getting any pain relief from the oxycontin or oxycodone, the norco does give me some pain relief, but am limited to 6 a day as to not damage my liver. What other long acting pain meds are out there??? I have an appointment to see my pain doctor next week, but would like to have some additional info when I go in to see him.
Avatar f tn Idk if the gabapentin stops the adderall from working or what. But it has helped with my leg pain.
