Common Questions and Answers about Oxycodone nausea

oxycontin

Avatar m tn The six times per day of 10mg oxycodone leave me with nausea and headaches. This is particularly bad at night which prevents me from getting enough sleep. Of course, being awoken every four hours contributes. I would think after time symptoms would lessen. Am I destined to living through nausea, headaches until I finish rehab from the surgery?
Avatar n tn I went to the emergency room because I could not walk and was in serious pain with both ass cheeks swollen. The er doctor prescribed creams and sent me home telling me it's just hemorrhoids. JUST hemorrhoids seems to not be important. The next night I was in so much pain I couldn't lay down or move without severe pain. I was scared when I looked in a mirror and both ass cheeks were shining, full of infection.
Avatar m tn I'm about to have an artificial disc replacement in my neck. I've had cervical and lumbar fusion and am glad I did. (don't know why so many are afraid of surgeries). I know doctors are leery about giving pain meds to patients, as well they should be, but there are instances where it's necessary. My question is why do I get nausious when I take hydrocodone and not when I've taken oxycodone? I asked an er doctor for oxycodone instead of hydrocone and told him why.
Avatar n tn Withdrawal symptoms usually are chills, nausea, headache, body aches, sneezing yawning. diarrhea, sweating, anxiety/depression. There are nore but that's all I can think of now. I get restless legs really bad.
Avatar f tn I was recently prescribed Oxycodone for pain due to a head injury/neck pain, and take a fairly small dose with Tylenol 3 (tylenol with codiene) and was wondering what the side effects should be and how long would I have to be taking it before coming addicted to it?
433485 tn?1321813390 Hi. I have chronic gastritis as well as GERD. I am also in Pain Management due to osteoarthritis in my lower back. Has any found relief from gastritis flares with Oxycodone? Thanks.
Avatar n tn For the first two days after surgery I felt great. I have been taking oxycodone 5-325 tablets every 4-6 hrs and morphine sulf ER 30 mg every 12 hours. On day 3 I started vomiting and kept it up through day four, but stopped taking any drugs. I figured I was allergic to the oxycodone. Now it's day 5 and my stomach has been in knots for yesterday and today. Is it related to my reaction to the oxycodone? Or what else would be causing it?
Avatar f tn These headaches were much worse before the oxycodone thats why he started takeing the medication to begin with.
Avatar f tn t take it away but make life a little bit easier. I also take Tizanadine and oxycodone for flare ups. In the morning I start taking Savella the new Fibromyalgia medication. My Rheumatologist gave me a four week starter pack of Savella today. I'm really nervous to take this medication because both Cymbalta and Lyrica were horrible medications for me. The side effects scare me. Suicide, nausea, vomiting, bleeding problems, rashes, etc. and I do mean the list goes on and on. Wish me luck.
Avatar f tn My doctor also gave me a prescription for Hydrocodone Acetaminophen to take instead of the Oxycodone for when I was ready. I tried to replace the Oxycodone with the Hydrocodone but it gave me tremendous nausea and terrible anxiety the one day I took it...I almost had a panic attack in the middle of the night and thought my husband was going to have to cal 911! Does anyone have a suggestion for the best way I can wean off the meds?
Avatar f tn I was on Opana 20mg x 4 a day and Dilaudid 8mg x 6 a day and wd cold turkey over the course of about a week. This took place about 3 weeks ago. I had back surgery 2 weeks ago and went back on 15mg Oxycodone IR's x 10 a day. I've been on them at this dose for most of about the last two weeks. What I want to know is how bad the wd's will be.
Avatar m tn Maybe the oxycodone is too strong for you. Have you asked your doctor about getting an anti nausea med? You can also get over the counter ones like allergy meds (Antihistamines) or I use Dramamine sometimes. Ginger also helps some people. When my pain meds make me sick it's always a sudden thing and it's usually an hour or so after I take them. So I tend to try and take something like Dramamine with my meds to help that a little.

356518 tn?1322263642 I just do not know what else to do. I have got the brand of oxycodone I was taking before and I still can't keep them down. I had gotten a different brand and I thought that this was the problem as I would just throw them back up after about fifteen minutes, but I have my usual brand now and have the same problem. This has been going on for sometime now. My doctor has given me several different medicines to help but they are not helping at all.
Avatar f tn I think you want to know more about the drug you are abusing. Percocet is one of the brand names of the drug oxycodone when it is combined with acetaminophen. Oxycodone is semi-synthetic and was created in the mid 20th century to improve upon other opioids such as morphine or codeine. Although the chemical composition of oxycodone is almost identical to heroin, oxycodone abuse often lacks the strong taboos and negative reputation of heroin.

Avatar f tn What is a dangerous heart rate? My son is detoxing from oxycodone. This discussion is related to Heart Rate - Normal, Abnormal and Dangerous ?.
Avatar n tn He pout me on 30mg of cymbalta to help ease the anxiety which seems to be helping however tyhe nausea is really bad. I cant eat, sleep or really do much of anything. I'm just wondering how long i can expect the withdrawal to stick around as I said I'm into day 2 and i'm going from 60mg to 100mg oxycodone a day to nbothing. If anyone culd give me an idea of how long I can expect this living hell to go on it would give me a little hope.
Avatar f tn I don't know about your back pain, but I would ask the doctor. I wouldn't worry about bothering him, that's what he's there for. I do know that oxycodone can cause nausea, so maybe that is why you have it.
Avatar m tn Pain has gotten so bad that two years ago my neurosurgeon recommended that I retire to take care of myself. I finally gave in to taking oxycodone, and take a few other scripts along with lidocaine patches on my neck at night to help put out the fire. I have problems swallowing, no one seems to have an answer for that. Riding and bounceing in a car have made my neck pain and headache worse for several years and even nausea associated with this.
Avatar n tn One example - I had been on oxycodone, waited 24 hours, took a suboxone, and then got extreme nausea, threw up over and over. Fortunately I had Phenergan at home. I called an urgent care place, the nurse said it was okay to take Phenergan, and I took it. I called my sub doc and he said it sounded more like food poisoning. I had eaten leftover sushi exactly twelve hours before onset. At least one other time (can't remember the specifics) I had a similar experience.
6078474 tn?1379443705 However, constant aching and sometimes very sharp and stabbing pain has led to 20+ years of dependence upon Oxycodone. I am in the middle (6 days in) of a detox period which I have done every 2 1/2 to 3 years for the last 20 or so in order to lower my body's tolerance. Each time I complete a detox I start back on Percocet, 6 a day which is like 30mg of Oxycodone which escalates slowly as tolerance builds to 240mg a day at which point I suffer a detox again.
Avatar n tn After 8 years of taking different pain medication for chronic back pain, I detoxed by myself from 160 mg of oxycodone. I had suboxone and started taking .2 mg of suboxone. After 6-1/2 months, I gradually tapered off it and since mid-January I have been off it completely. I went through all the typical withdrawals of "kicking" legs, nausea, and flu-like symptons. It has been 7 weeks and I still feel lousy.
Avatar m tn ) Have you tried eating something before taking the oxycodone? it may help also you can try taking an anti nausea medication to help. There are many different pain medications you can try. What test have you had done, An MRI or x rays yet? They will help determine what is going on. It may be sciatica which is very painful but it can be treated. I hope you find some answers and some medication you can take.
1765426 tn?1323520782 Kicking log day 10: After a very negative interaction with prozac, I had to cease 20mg oxycodone cold turk. Bad thing for me, couldn't wean down because if the adverse reaction which seems to have made my w/d longer resulting in fatigue, insomnia, horrendous migraines, restlessness, fever, nausea, and stage 4 - terminal RLS. Have decided to cut off my legs, but am now sure best way to do so. I am thinking maybe a circular saw, but fear that might leave me with soreness.
