Avatar f tn According to his doctors, oxycodone is safe to use even with his kidney problems and his compromised immune system. I am not sure exactly what their rationale is, but if you talk to your doctors, I'm sure they will explain to you why they either agree or disagree, whichever it turns out the case is.
Avatar f tn Are these items that could be from just taking the oxycodone and my body coverts it to this or is the test flawed. my oxycodone levels where a little high in my blood but I had just taken my medication one hour prior to the test with grapefruit juice witch I now know not to do cause it can cause high levels but my PM Dr is concerned about the other drugs in my blood.
1590996 tn?1297089523 I have recently had two urine drug screens come back showing trace amounts of Oxycodone. I have NOT taken this drug. I suffer from severe chronic pain in my back and have been prescribed Dilaudid for almost 3 years, which I take regularly on a daily basis and without it I am totally bedridden.

1272624 tn?1395434357 m 26w4d pregnant with my 4th and never ever had this before. My kidney ruptured 2 weeks ago and no stone was actually seen and after 3 days in the hospital I had a little blood in my urine. They think the baby was blocking my ureter but I'm not so sure. They gave me oxycodone 5mg for pain as needed and because I'm pregnant I only take 1or 2 a day if I can't take the pain.
Avatar f tn I have a history of kidney stones for the past 3 years , I see a urologist and a nefrologist for them they both say stones are in no way causing my pain.
614661 tn?1267273924 I am curious of the long term affect of taking the drug Oxycodone- ADA_ 5-325 MG TABMCK.
Avatar m tn I took approximately 2 percocets a day each pill being 5-325 mgs for 2 months for ongoing kidney stones, and then I went "Cold Turkey". I felt sick from the withdrawls but the only thing that I got that is really concerning me that I still have is dyspnea, where it feels like I can't get enough air in my lungs.I stopped taking percocets for like almost 5 days now and I'm not going to take anymore.
Avatar n tn Hi, i was wondering if anyone knew the differences between Oxycodone and Tylenol w/Codeine?? I know they both have acetomenophen. But, the Tylenol with Codeine has Codeine obviously. I was taking the one with 30mg. of codeine. Now I have Oxycodone 7.5-325. What is the opiad in this drug? Is it also codeine, or a different drug? I know my body's reaction to the T3, so I am a little nervous to try this new one....oxycodone. Is it stronger, not as strong, the same???
Avatar f tn I have had a bad winter, between kidney stones and a big fall on the ice, I have been on morphine, dilauded, and oxy's. I have only been on the oxy's since last Tuesday 30 mg x2 day. On Sunday morning I got up and had to throw up, and throw up, etc... I did this for a few hours and then I got the runs. This went on for a few hours and finally I though I might have gastro. I got some pepto bismal and that seemed to work.
Avatar m tn I read that is lever damage. Now my kidney loins hurt - doc hasnt called to review my tests and I am mad going to urologist ASAP re: kideny pain but it could be a muscle pain as it comes and goes and I am aslouching couch potatoe. All other urinary functions seem normal I drink tons of water and have puffiness. MS also presnets itslef with "hugs" ie{ muscle spasms that make you feel like you are being squeezed.
Avatar m tn My dad takes oxycodone 15mg/ oxycontin 20mg/ marinol 2.5mg/ and ibuprofen 220mg Marinol is synthetic marijuana and it is doing wonders for his back pain. But if this is the case then shouldn't he theoretically be able to go off of the oxy's? I am so confused. Doctors don't tell me about liver or kidney protection and that is one of my first concerns.
Avatar m tn I was discharged 48 hours ago but the trapped gas behind my transplanted kidney (which is in the front of my body is extreme. The pain is not improving nor was i warned this might happened as a result of the CO2 used to make the laprocopic procedure easier. I am prescribed heavy narcotics since my original transplant operation and have never had pain this bad that cant be treated with large doses of Oxycontin...
Avatar m tn Usually cause of RLS is unknown, but it is essential that you consult your treating doctor before decreasing or stopping the recommended dose. Other reasons of RLS could be rheumatoid arthritis, kidney failure, diabetes or any underlying heart disorder. The leg pain of RLS typically eases with movement of the legs and becomes more evident at rest. Therefore, medicine dosage is usually prescribed before going to bed.
Avatar f tn I've been fighting kidney stones, UTI, and a bad ear infection and I was supposed to come in on Thursday and pick up my month supply of fentanyl and oxycodone. I called the pain doctor on Saturday and he raised the amount of oxycodone and then told me to call my dr. I told him I had an appointment on Monday. I went yesterday and found out that I'm still passing kidney stone pieces and that's why I feel crummy. I called the pain dr.
Avatar m tn I know my question is similar others but I just feel like posting. I'm new to the board. I'm 27 years old. I've had two knee surgeries and 6 sets of kidney stones in the last 5 years. Last year I broke my cocyxx and was given oxycodone (which I had taken before and didn't ever become physically dependent.) I am totally addicted to the medication now.
Avatar f tn I eventually had the Doctor switch me back to the Oxycodone. 15mg Morphine is equivalent to 5mg of Oxycodone, so you might need to take both tabs of the Morphine to get the same relief. I hope this helps.
Avatar m tn I was diagnosed with PKD (polycystic kidney disease) at the age of 18. Well this last week my kidney pain changed and I knew something was wrong. Couldn't get comfortable no matter what. Lots of pain. Comes in waves from my kidney to my lower abdomen even towards my bladder. Want to er where they did a CT and discovered several small stones in both kidneys and of course a ton of cysts. He sent me to a urologist which I can't see until Next wednesday!!
779368 tn?1252646346 Oxycodone is stronger than hydrocodone. As for the dentist, it really just depends on the specific dentist. I had a root canal go bad awhile back and was first prescribed hydrocodone and it didn't help much. He then prescribed oxycodone. My sister had a root canal done from a different dentist and all she got was codiene. I guess it's all just personal preference of the dentist. Lortab is just a brand name for hydrocodone.
374225 tn?1269899262 My pm/gp has put me on Methadone for Chronic Pain and it's changed my life. It really does an amazing job for the pain so long as I'm sedentary. But with a healthy wife and 3 healthy kids plus a dog who can be sedentary. Plus I'm self-employed and to be honest sitting around just doesn't appeal. I want to live. So my GP has been giving me Oxycodone 10/325 for going on 2+ years.
Avatar m tn Lastly, Fentanyl is one of the the better medications for those with renal (kidney) or heptic (liver) impairement. Dilaudid is as well. Oxycodone (with and without tylenol) and Hydrocodone are both not recommended due to the additional metabolism by the liver into oxymorphone and hydromorphone, respectively. There is still some work on the liver regardless to process opioids but Fentanyl, Dilaudid (hydromorphone), and Opana (oxymorphone) put less strain on the liver.
