m not sure how all of this works but some medications can break down in your body and show up as another med. Fentanyl may have some of the same ingredients as Oxycodone. Did your Dr retest you? If not, I was ask him to do it. I would also tell him about these tests only being 95% accurate and ask him to research one med showing up looking like another med. I take it there was also Fentanyl in your system along with the Oxycodone?
I was curious..how can 1 10mg of oxycodone be stronger and work much better than 2 5mg's of oxycodone?
I have been taking percocet (oxycodone acetaminophen) 5/325 1 pill 3 times a day. That was a great system that worked for me. Recently I was prescribed oxycodone minus the acetaminophen. I understand the risks of liver damage. However, I have had NO relief since I began this new drug. I'm confused because it is the same drug minus the Tylenol. Anyone else experiencing this? Would taking a higher dose of the oxycodone (not Percocet which is oxy with acetaminophen) help me better?
The lowest amount of tylenol that I know of that comes with hydrocodone would be in Norco tablets. They contain 10mg of the hydrocodone and only 325mg of tylenol. Maybe talk to your doctor about switching you to oxycodone instead? Oxycodone comes in tablet form that's just pure oxycodone, it has no tylenol or acetaminophen in it at all. It's stronger than hydrocodone, too, so the 5mg tablet (the smallest one they make) might even work as well for you as the 7.5mg vicodin.
oxycodone hydrochloride, available 5mg, 10mg, 15mg, 20mg, and 30mg. The Only Difference Between These Two Medications that I see is the: inactive ingredients. Small Example: (Oxycodone) contains: magnesium stearate, microcrystaline cellulose, silicon dioxide and stearic acid, and numerous D&C, FD&C colors. (Roxicodone) contains sodium starch, glycolate, corn starch, lactose, and a few of the same that the Oxycodone contains.
That's what really annoys me, the ingredients, not clear at all...........

I'm at the end of day 19 off oxycodone and I've had wicked awful heartburn. Never had it in my life except twice well pregnant 15 years ago. Anyone else experience this? I was also wondering if it could be all the new vitimans I'm taking?
Thank you for educating me. It's a medication I was prescribed prior to entering "Drug Court". I was also prescribed oxycodone, which I discontinued because the program doesn't allow any narcotics or alcohol. For my sciatica, they allow me to take tramadol which works ok, but at times the pain is so great and I was wondering could I take the Neurontin and be ok when they administer a urinalysis which they do 3 to 5 times a week.

But I did stock up with the ingredients from the Thomas recipe and the mellatonin helped with the sleep. B6 in the morning along with St.jOHNS WORT for the energy and mood thing is really helping. I'm not big on the "natural' pills thing. Funny coming from someone who had no problem poppin hydro's to get out of bed! HA! But I am glad I got them ....I think they're helping alot. Sorry your post got overlooked. This forum is made up of chronic pain patients sharing experiences but no one is qualified to say what meds you should try. You don't state what condition causes your pain. Some medications work better for certain kinds of pain. I'm guessing it was the Fentanyl patch you used? Was there a reason you stopped using them? I was on it for a year but felt it wasn't the right medication for me.
I started using oxycodone 5mg tablets when i was in a car wreck and broke my neck approx 5months ago and itsoon wasnt helping any more so i began taking 30mg or blueberries like 4 -5 tablets a day..
Does anyone know a pharmacy in the saint pete-sarasota area that has oxycodone 30mg in stock yet? I had 180 30 mg tabs filled at a compounding pharmacy last month and that was a HUGE mistake....not only have I been vomiting for a month, but I paid 4.00 per pill and they seemed maybe 1/2 as strong as my usual dose .I so wish this mess was resolved....
the 2 do not contain the same ingredients so it should be safe. if you really want to make sure, there is a website to check for drug interactions.
