For the last year I have been taking15 mg Morphine2 times a day, and 5mg Oxycodone HCI For pain in back and hips, and knee. At this dosage I have been getting some relief.Could one say that I'm chemically dependent. I'm 6 ft tall and 172 lbs. What is the suggested dosage for 61 yr old? I just had surgery in my chest and the pain level is 10 by times 10. they increased the oxy to 10 mg every 4 hrs and the Morphine 3 times a day 30 mg a day. with little effect.

I am currently on 60 mg 3 times per day with 30 mg Oxycodone 3 times per day for breakthrough.I also have 4 mg Dilaudid and 200 mg Actiq pops for severe episodes.Oxycontin is a wonderful long term drug but the most important thing is to get the dosage correct.We build up a tolerance to the meds and the doctors must allow for that.Norco has absolutely no affect on my pain level.

What exactly is Oxycodone HCL 30 mg? My sister was getting 100 pills a week since Dec 2008 for this amount. Isn't this quite a bit for someone who has a bulging disk in her back? One week prior to her starting the 30 mgs, she was taking 15 mg @ 100 a week. Any help would be appreciated.

I have cervical dystonia in my neck, fibromyalgia, endometriosis, and hidertitis supperteva (sp?). I had been taking 20 mg opana 2x day along with 30 mg Oxycodone 4x day. So I have severe back pain and my dr. Has prescribed me a low dose of oxycododone, 5 mg to be exact. He says its safe to take during pregnancy and while Breastfeeding as long as its taken as needed and not regularly but im hesitant to put any narcotic in my body while pregnant. Ive been on Oxycodone for 5 years. My dosage has slowly increased from 40mg day to 120 mg day. I have since been diagnosed with post herpetic neuralgia. I was prescribed 5 mg of Oxycodone as needed along with the Gabapentin for the God-awful stabbing pain and accompanying painful creepy crawly sensations. That is not the case if you taking the 80 mg and the 40 mg 3x per day. That is 120 mg x 3 or 360 mg of Oxycontin per day vs. 120 mg per day. Let me rerun the conversion calculator... So if you remember I converted your total daily dose of Fentanyl to Oxycontin and it came out to be 210 mg of Oxycontin. That is 150 mg of Oxycontin less than what you were taking through Fentanyl vs. 90 mg of Oxycontin more than you were taking.

Oxycodone also has an option without Tylenol. it is available in a 5 mg strength so this may be an option too. You need to discuss this with your doctor and ask him what options he/she can offer. I would highly suggest not going in and asking for a specific drug, this raises huge red flags. Just speak to your doctor and inform them that the Darvocet is not controlling the pain and that your concerned about the Tylenol content on a daily basis and they will adjust your medicines accordingly.

The 10 mg dose is equivalent to about 20 mg of oxycodone. It is a step down but you could combine a 5 mg and a 10 mg tablet to equal 30 mg of oxycodone. Because of incomplete cross tolerance due to Opana IR (oxymorphone) being a totally different opioid, you could have great success with it as a breakthrough pain med. Dilaudid and Opana IR are the only IR pills stronger than oxycodone on the market. The next tier up would be the fentanyl lollipops or buccal tablets. Good luck.

I have been take 30mg immediate release oxycodone for about 3 months,recreationally, first a quarter pill then half and finally peaking at 45-60mg a day for about a week. for the past 2 days i have just have 30mg a day split into morning and night. I have 8 pills left and i have to be done with this, its was all fun in the beginning, but I have to get off this road because I know where it ends. I had dts this morning just from the 2 days at 30 mg.
