The perscription will say on it how much tylenol it contains or if it contains aspirin (which I doubt pre-surgical). Next to the oxycodone it will say, apap ###. That is the amount of acetaminophen (tylenol) in it. So as an example it may read, oxycodone 7.5mg/apap 500mg. Physicians don't always tell you the amount of acetaminophen that the particular narcotic contain. The reason again for that is it is written on the script. I hope that helps answer your question.

I have been taking percocet (oxycodone acetaminophen) 5/325 1 pill 3 times a day. That was a great system that worked for me. Recently I was prescribed oxycodone minus the acetaminophen. I understand the risks of liver damage. However, I have had NO relief since I began this new drug. I'm confused because it is the same drug minus the Tylenol. Anyone else experiencing this? Would taking a higher dose of the oxycodone (not Percocet which is oxy with acetaminophen) help me better?

I took percocet/oxycodone w apap 10/325 for just a little over a week and then stopped (without weaning). I was taking 4-5 a day and it def helped the pain. Now, after stopping, i am feeling horrible.Uncontrollable crying, emotionally insecure, feeling desperate, sad, grief filled, etc.... I am currently prescribed 1-2 7.5/325 hyrdro/apap every 4-6 hours for chronic back pain. I started a few days ago. 2 barely eases the pain so I am seeing my doctor soon to discuss it. I have a few questions for those of you that have been on pain management regimens for a while. Does it take a while (days/weeks) for your body to respond to hydro/apap? Also which is more effective (for severe chronic back pain): hydrocodone or oxycodone?

The prescription is for Oxycodone HCL. I asked my doctor what the difference between this and regular Oxycodone 5/325 APAP was, and he stated that the one I'm on doesn't have Tylenol in it. He said that the APAP stood for Tylenol, not the CET; Because I asked about that, too. Weird, huh?

I don't bother with Pain management because all they will give us an injection of Fentanyl! No thank you. I stick to my Tylenol #3 with Codeine. I use the Teva brand the rest of the pharmaceutical brands make me nauseous. But Oxycodone w/apap 5/325 is good also again only the Mallinckrodt brand. Don't take just any brand do your research.

I am currently taking Oxycodone-Apap 5-325 MG TabMck, Medrol dose pack, and now Hydromorphone 2mg (Dilaudid) because the Percocet * (Oxycodone) does not work well by itself. Dilaudid is a much stronger narcotic than oxycodone ( oxycodone is the narcotic ingredient in percocet). Percocet is tylenol and oxycodone combined. I think you will have much better pain control with the dilaudid for sure.

The narcotic ingredient of Percocet is oxycodone and apap means the amount of acetaminophen that is contained in the Percocet. They come with oxycodone 5, 7.5 and 10mg strengths. The acetaminophen added is 325, 500 or 650mg. So you could be prescribed 10/325. There is again just plain Oxycodone without any additives. The immediate release form (Oxycodone IR) does come in a 30mg tablet.

In the generic form, it would give the mg strength of the pill (ie, 5/500) and then say APAP on the label. The 5 is the mg strength of the narcotic, the 500 denotes how many mg of tylenol are in it, and APAP is the generic denotation of the Tylenol. Since fibromyalgia is incurable, chances are you are going to be on these for a very long time.

I am currently taking 10 mg of oxycodone(w/o apap) 4x a day & 30 mg of oxycotin 3x a day. But the 30 mg oxycotin doesnt seem to be workin as before. Can I take roxicodone30 mg to replace the oxycotin along w/ the 10 mg oxycodone or are they the same,???

If its hydrocodone it will be stated as a xx(hydrocodone) - xx (apap/asprin). Doses of tylenol ranged from 325/500/750 and asprin i'm not sure (Assume only 200mg but I have no clue.They come in liquid suspension and tablet form and rarley without a tylenol/asprin additive. I'm taking percocet which is a whole different Active ingrediant. From my experience a lot more dangerous than hydrocodone. Its approx. 1.5x stronger than lortab in analgesia terms.

he is taking percocet mixed with apap 325 and using some "magic" to seperate the tylenol (apa) from perc. drug addicts need like 60-90mg dosage. if they took that in the for mixed with tylenol, they'd die of tylenol poision.

Hydrocodone (Vicodin) does come in a 5/325 dose. You may want to request a lower dose of acetaminophen. On January 13th of this year the FDA "is asking" that all medications containing acetaminophen (apap) reduce the amount of that drug to 325mg per table...over the next three years. The recommendation is still not to exceed 4,000mg in a 24 hour period. The real problem comes from ppl who take other medications that contain apap dosage.

with the increase in the patch he has decreased my oxycodone.. now i currently take 5mg oxycodone 3x daily. the patch does give me some relief, but the oxycodone seemed to work better. i told this to my dr and his response was " i think oxycodone is a bad drug". while not wearing the patch, i took 2 of the 15mg oxy at once. i wasnt pain free, but i felt pretty good, close to 'normal'.my patch doesnt last me 72 hrs. as it is supposed to.

2 months, and he currently has me on Verapamil ER 180 MG X1 daily, Nortriptyline 10 MG X1 @ bedtime, also Oxycodone/Acetaminophen 5/325 4X a day for break thru pain, as well as Oxycontin 10 mg ER 2X a day. I have taken all of these meds for the last month, with little sucess of relief. Unfort. I have had to take both of my pain medications everyday the last month. My question is about tolerance.
