oxycontin

1271743 tn?1320892461 Yes, from what I read, it is a rather new brand of Oxycodone and Ibuprophen. It is distributed in the US. I think we will hear more about the drug as time goes on. There is good info on the drug on the web.
1225178 tn?1318980604 I agree with newleaf, and add that my hepatologist, as I began to experience stage/grade 3/3 liver fibrosis, his recommendation changed. He said to stop taking anything but tylenol. He said the risk of kidney damage from NSAIDs, even at low dose, was greater than any potential benefit. What is okay is 2g acetaminophen daily. Also tramadol (generic for Ultram) 200mg daily.
Avatar m tn A baby should not run a high fever for more than 48 hours or it can do damage to the brain. Have you been giving tylenol and ibuprophen. You dose tylenol and ibuprophen at the same time and every 4 hours after the first dose give tylenol and every six hours after first dose give ibuprophen. Do this for 24 hours. See if fever comes back. If so do it for another 24 hours. If fever still returns bring to doctor immediately. The baby may need antibiotics.
Avatar m tn I take 300mgs of MS Contin and 60mgs oxycodone,if I were to switch to Hydrocodone 60mgs or Lortab would that work?Any suggestions would help,I find the dose I am on now is not as affective, but I don't want to go any higher.
Avatar n tn In fact, it is often prescribed with other things. Ibuprophen is an anti-prostaglandin and relieves muscle cramping. It only takes one or two (standard dose) to relieve menstrual cramps. In your shoes, I'd call my doctor to confirm but there should be no trouble taking Advil.
1982580 tn?1326378187 I was prescribed Percocet 30 mg up to 4x daily for budgling disc among other issues; I got sick of being dependant on medication to survive and quit cold turkey 3 weeks ago, but took one of my percs when I was having a very painful day; this was New Years day. I have literally had 1 30mg pill since before Christmas, but My pain feels worse than before I was prescribed them and I am till really lethargic. I do not want any narcotic or benzo or any other DRUG!
Avatar m tn Because your oxycodone dosage is increased, you are feeling more side effects. People generally become accustomed to the increased somnolence, etc. within a few months. You have a couple of choices -- either waiting it out or reducing your dosage. Essentially, OxyNeo work similarly to OxyContin. Both are time released preparations of the opioid analgesic oxycodone. OxyNeo is a new formulation with additional abuse prevention features.
Avatar m tn Normally any ibuprophen is fine like Tylenol, but ask the pharmacist what is best.
Avatar f tn I had bypass surgery on April 17 and have had to take oxycodone for the pain in my breasts. They are very sensitive and it feels like a knife is being shoved in to them at times. It is unbearable if I dont take the oxycodone. It is the only pain reliever that will take the pain away. I would also like some answers on this matter. Was glad to see that I wasn't the only one with these post operative symptoms.
Avatar f tn I am taking Imodium to help with the nasties and ativan, to help with the anxiety, and sleep. I have started talking to my friends and telling them what I have been going through. Nobody realized how addicted I was, or how sick I was, but they are my true friends and they are being supportive. I keep thinking by tomorrow I should start to feel really good. I went to the Library last night with my husband and kids and got a book to keep me occupied when my head starts racing.
Avatar f tn Another thing you may want to try is Biofreeze ointment, or even try taking 2 ibuprophen and 1 acetominophen. The ibuprophen is an anti-inflammatory and the other is pain reliever. Combined they work better then if taken alone.
Avatar f tn It may depend on the stage/condition of your liver, but I was not advised to not take either, and when I specifically asked about ibuprophen, he said it was probably better than the tylenol.
7923170 tn?1412999504 Ibuprophen should not be taken during pregnancy. Ibuprophen is the active ingredient in several over the coiner pain relievers...Motrin, Adivil are two examples. Always check the active ingredients on any medication to find what you are taking. I would recommend asking your doctor for a list of any common medications that are safe while pregnant. I hope this helps.
Avatar m tn m trying to slowly bear wait on it with the aircast on, should be icing it, and also should i still be talking ibuprophen. thanks gallypro.
Avatar n tn ve been on the medication for well over a year, Im prescribed oxycodone. I found out Im pregnant and Im 12 weeks. I feel horrible to take something while being pregnant , I was taking 4 to 5 a day but after I found out I was pregnant I went down to 1 to 2 a day. Does anyone out there have a similiar problem? Avatar m tn Hi Ju! I also take a prescribed anti inflammatory, Voltarin, and I was told by both my Dr. And my pharmacy Not to take any type of NSAIDS, ie, Advil, or Ibuprofen, with my anti inflammatorys! Definately check with your Dr. And let them know that the Meloxicam isn't always helping! All the best!
Avatar f tn What work for me is, 2 tylenol and 2 ibuprophen at the same time. I have a friend who has RA and aleve really works for her. Just be very careful with the tylenol that you don't overdose. A friend of mine ODed and was dead within 30 min. from liver failure (acedamenophen toxicity). Also be sure and take ibuprophen w/ food to keep from getting an ulcer. I know you know all of this, but sometimes desperate people do desperate things to get relief.
Avatar m tn ve had a headache for the last 5 days is this normal? and if i keep tapering down to 10mg x 2 a day and then finally off them will this headache carry on untill the end? ANY advice will be very helpful, P.S Should the wife and kids (who know whats happening) go away for a while when i'm w/d from them all together as to save them from seeing the pain and other **** that goes with it?
433485 tn?1321813390 Hi Sue what is Oxycodone? Do you get it from the doctors? I too have chronic gastritis and it is agony on flare ups. I take Pantoprazole,Gaviscon and I can take Sucralfate. They don,t do much though. Its really awful isn,t it I hope you find relief for your pain too.
Avatar n tn My allergist is more concerned about the newer acetominophen reports and is planning desensitizing me to aspirin and ibuprophen. You might need to carry an epi-pen, and you can help to control some of your reaction by taking an antihistamine. A liquid would be best as it gets into the system faster than pills. My recommendation is DO NOT try ibuprophen. Cross reactions between NSAIDs are VERY common. See you dr for a good exam to find the cause of the increased pain as Dr.
Avatar f tn I had my gallbladder removed Wednesday and have been on Oxycodone since Wednesday night. For some reason it started affecting my sleep yesterday. I tried laying down for a nap but could not sleep. I slept an hour or two last night. When I try to go to sleep my thoughts start racing and I just cant sleep. I really could use some sleep. Help.
537731 tn?1268265286 Anyway Dr gives me a medicine i inject B12 weird-and gives me talwin nx- for pain to take with my oxycodone to help my pain more and tells me if i go to pain clinic and the call him he will prescribe what they say. I am confused this talwin has naloxone in it- i am about to research it but i believe that is what they use to reverse overdose effects.
Avatar f tn The trazadone was given to replace the sleeping pill and I have anxiety disorder and Ibs. the pain meds started due to chronic pain throughout my life. I have no other resource available but to stop these meds. I need to go it on my own. It is complicated. I feel very weak already and still on the meds.To 80 mg but had such bad pain in the stomach that my doc gave me a colonoscopy and after that we started on the trazadone.
Avatar m tn They also said I had a dead tooth and they did a root canal and crown, just with the temporary today ... Had to put in one stitch. I was in office from 11-4 pm . I am still numb now but they wrote me a script for amoxicillin and perodan (24)...... Will I blow my sobriety if I have to take a few of these or since it is another drug is it different? Can I make it on ibuprophen ? If anyone knows please respond.
Avatar f tn Sorry I missed one part of your question. Backhurtz is correct that the doctor is giving you dilaudid to take instead of the Oxycodone. That being said, you might want to call and ask what he or she wants you to do if they were not clear about it. Most times when I change meds my doctor gives me a written plan that entails reducing the drug I was on while at the same time increasing the drug he now wants me to take until I am completely switched over to the new drug.
