Common Questions and Answers about Overcome fear riding motorcycle

fear

Avatar f tn My 52 yr. old husband recently bought a motorcycle and just loves riding it. He's currently on a ten day "bike" trip with some of his guy friends. I worry daily that something will happen to him on that thing. I was raised in a family where the dangers of motrocycle riding were strongly emphasized. Any suggestions for ways I can calm down, learn to accept this? He refuses to take it back.
Avatar f tn Im 33w +2 and have been researching online if its okay to take a short motorcycle ride (passanger). Of course theres always a risk pregnant or not and a lot of people online still ride after 30w. So I was just wondering if any of you are still riding? Or have you put it off for the summer?
Avatar m tn I am not convinced that this was a professional opinion as apposed to his personal opinion. Would riding motorcycle cause further damage or present a risk for paralysis?
Avatar n tn Hi im on my 18weeks and i would just like to kno if its ok to ride in a motorcycle??? I used to ride in a motorcycle if we need to go somewhere near.. is it allowed ot not..many thanks..
Avatar f tn Anyone have experience with chiari and motorcycle riding. Prior to my diagnosis I raced atvs/dirtbikes offroad and also road motorcycles. Since my diagnosis obviously I quit racing becuase it is very jarring and theres a good chance of crashing... but can I still ride a motorcycle on the street? I have not had surgery nor do I plan to unless it becomes obviously necessary. My current symptoms suck but are manageable/tolerable and I can live with them. I miss racing... but its too dangerous..
1303966 tn?1296740010 I get a headache from riding my motorcycle...does that count, lol.
Avatar f tn Dee I think you should definitely push to get seen by the hepatologist as soon as possible. I see no upside in waiting and instead I see a possible risk. I believe that you can get your PCP to comply if you make your case clear to him - just be a strong but reasonable advocate. About his platelet count: My understanding is that <50,000 platelet count triggers some reservations about certain medical procedures and most doctors consider <30,000 to be a dangerous level.
539750 tn?1226521677 This is weird. After riding my motorcycle this weekend I got vibrating sensations in my hands and feet. Everytime I walked or touched my hands and fingers it was like a little drum going off inside me. Or a tuning fork...only when I touched something. This has happened in the past as well. Any thoughts?
7720624 tn?1402712283 I bought a motorcycle in August last year took riding classes at Harley! Which was Awesome!! Now Riding season is here and my bike just sits! The nicer the weather gets the more upset I get and now I'm actually crying damn hormones!

230262 tn?1316645934 i cant believe it but i went back to dirtbike riding yesterday! i havent rode in years! Well, ive putted around the property on the quads alot with the kids, but i havent rode fast and hard in ages. Ive been scared to ride like i used to, out of fear of hurting my back worse. But as more of me comes alive again being off the pills, i want to do more again. Ive been taking the kids for long nature walks in the woods too which is something I had cut to a minimum out of fear of my back too.
Avatar n tn My husband bought a motorcycle without consulting me. This is his second motorcycle and second decision he has made without me. Am I just being crazy? I tried to tell him these are decisions we make together as newly weds but he doesn't understand. He makes it seem like im being unreasonable and that this is his money and his decision. I dont want to ride the bike with him now even though i used to love doing it with the old one. Do i just let him win or do I take a stand?
Avatar m tn I honestly don't know how to overcome it. Less traumas.... Wear motorcycle helmets, wear car seatbels, etc. No drugs, alcohol.... sounds good to me.
Avatar m tn I was riding my motorcycle one evening, so i hit a man who was pushing a cart. I was injured by the cart but the injury wasn't deep and didn't bleed for long. Am Afraid if by any chance there was blood in the wooden cart which i was injured with, does that means am posed for a risk for hiv??
Avatar n tn Hello all, It's my first post on here so please bare with me. Today I fell off my motorcycle... in Vietnam (I know, I know). No broken bones but lots of grazing and cuts, one of which required 6 stitches.
664710 tn?1226929596 I'm wondering if vibrations such as riding a motorcyle can cause weakness or temporary loss of motion? It seems that every time I'm on the back of my boyfriends bike I have a very difficult time moving when I get off. Anyone?
Avatar f tn I was wondering if anyone knew if Chiari symptoms will prevent me from riding motorcycles pre-op. I am a service member so it will take at least another month before they approve me for surgery. I use to ride every day whether it was on my own or as a passenger. For me honestly, being on a motorcycle makes me feel great. But as soon as I get done with a ride I get headaches. But that part doesn't bother me. Again, I just want to know if it would be safe for me to ride. Thanks!
Avatar f tn However, since I had my second child (a BEAUTIFUL boy) those trips - both long and short- have had to stop. I have very suddenly developed a fear of riding in cars that I have never experienced before. I look at those two beautiful children in the backseat and am paralyzed with fear at something happening to them in an accident. The odd thing is that my husband is a wonderful driver who has never been in a single accident or even gotten a ticket.
Avatar f tn 1) I ride a motorcycle (crotch rocket). At what point should I stop riding? No judgemental responses pls. Obviously there's a risk for accidents and when my belly starts to "show". But is there a risk for heat radiation and danger to the baby otherwise? 2) is wearing my Regular pants bad for my uterus? I'm not "showing" yet, but I don't want to limit my uterine and fetal growth. That plus I've been constipated, so that's limiting both ways...
Avatar m tn Agreed. But some of these fears can be overcome. Puppies and chicks tend to be fast moving. Find the right kind of puppy at a pound or store, and I bet his response will be different.
Avatar m tn It started last july after working out one day and riding my motorcycle afterwards. I felt sick that night like I had caught a bug(fever and just generally felt bad). This lasted through the next day as well. On the third day I no longer felt sick but had awful chest pain on both sides of my sternum. After two weeks of dealing with the pain and it not getting any better I went to the doctor.
Avatar f tn just no rough sex and no horseback riding or motorcycle.. irk if this is your first baby but csections are not that bad. I had one with my first baby bc it was a failed vaginal. And will most likely have one again bc of the low placenta. Good luck and don't worry.
