Avatar n tn I have had a toothache/facepain for over two weeks, I know I need to go and see a dentist but I have a great fear of going because of cetain circumstances that happened while going to the dentist as a child. I have been taking advil for the pain and most times it is tolerable but now it seems to be getting worse as it is keeping me awake at night.
Avatar m tn condoms are extremely effective against the transmission of HIV. Why not get tested after a certain amount of time...it is the responsible thing to do anyway. Health anxiety can be very hard to deal with, but you can rest easily that you did the smart thing by having protected sex. In my opinion, if this worries you, change your behavior...going going to a brothel may not be the best option if you are worried about contracting an STD....keep us posted!
Avatar f tn What i mostly think about is disapearing from this world forever, being swallowed by infanite darkness, and being so easily forgotten by this ever-moving world. The fear of no longer existing haunts me in nights depriving me of sleep and giving me only uncontrollable shuddering in the darkness. Is there anyway to escape this fear? is there a way i can have my restful nights back?
Avatar n tn The anxiety produced when confronted with height creates what is near panic. The fear only exhibits itself primarily on the ground and outside.. I do not have a fear of flying in a jet airplane or inside tall buildings. It has become a real problem for me to enjoy skiing. I'm ok as long as I don't have any major "drop offs" thus limiting the area's where I can ski. I've tried to overcome the fear with little success. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks!
Avatar m tn Agreed. But some of these fears can be overcome. Puppies and chicks tend to be fast moving. Find the right kind of puppy at a pound or store, and I bet his response will be different.
Avatar f tn To overcome anxiety, one must understand the logic of why the brain is feeling threatened, it sends messages to the body saying its under threat. New pathways need to be created to overcome the old programming. So for example, if you panic over a fear of flying, you must start flying and let the brain realise that its all okay, and reprogram the thoughts. However, the fear of dying can't really be practiced. Some buddhists meditate in a morgue as it is the closest we can get to dying.
Avatar f tn Under suitable conditions light falling on the eye may render visible certain objects within the eye itself. So, this type of problem make an issue after some time so as soon as possible you go for the eye care specialist. I hope your problem overcome early.

Avatar m tn I become so frightened during the period of time where I try to fall asleep that I simply do not do it. I find myself finding excuses to stay awake. It's not the sleep itself that scares me, it's the part where I lay in the dark and the silence. I'm afraid of all kinds of crazy things that don't bother me when I am not trying to sleep. I can't keep anything that is bothering me, any kinds of irrational fears, or any unusual superstitions out of my head.
925572 tn?1246540031 Please don't lose hope, and don't hurt yourself. That horrible, deep, dark hole is the worst thing in the world. There are meds that can be taken during pregnancy; please work with your doctor. Please DO get help if it gets too bad...it's alway available, not something to fear or be ashamed of...short term hospitalization could help get a treatment plan for your pregnancy in place while you stay safe. Take care. Let us know how you're doing. I care.
Avatar n tn I had a traumatic experience when I was a young child which left me with the fear of uncontrolled bleeding. I have attempted to overcome this fear through therapy and work in medical and dental offices. However, it returns to paralyze me at times. I need a molar extracted due to an abcess and the fear of bleeding has returned. I have had extractions in the past and obviously I survived but the anxiety continues to be huge.
Avatar f tn I think therapy would help you overcome this fear and worry. I think you have developed some anxiety along with your depression which is common. With anxiety we can become obcessed with different aspects of life and for you I think it's a fear of losing loved ones. This may be the result of something from your past, and with therapy you can learn what that is, deal with it and move on. If you have no root cause then you can learn how not to obcess about this.
Avatar n tn Some children in my family have some fear issues, so I have been working this with my own son. He's almost five, and for the last two years, I have been taking him to the back yard behind my house several nights a week. We are in a semi-rural neighborhood, so it is pitch black, and there are woods too.

Avatar m tn I was trying to get assurance on one symptoms, another symptoms I will pickup from the internet, like this cycle continuing, While browsing the anxiety I came across a word Variant Angina(which is without blockage, your arteries will go to temporary spasm/stop blood) I somehow manage to overcome this fear after lot of efforts but, one setback came, that, the way to diagnose is to hyperventilate the patient & do EKg. Since then i got more feared.

Avatar f tn Ok I'm a 15 year old male who has had many shots in life. Not in recent past though. My cousins always talked about fear of needles, and until that time I didn't mind them. Now they are the scariest things. At least I think remember I haven't had a shot recently except for at the dentist. I have readabout passing out when recieving a shot, although would that happen to me since I never have before? Do numbing solutions work?
