531005 tn?1286515532 For example, have them replace my anxiety and OCD(in this case fear of death), into being relaxed and having OCD(to work out)? So instead of having anxiety and fear of death, I'd be relaxed and exercise a lot more than I do. End result: Physically healthy and stress free individual! I need to know if I can do this, cause I'm seriously going to talk to my doctor next week... and I don't want to look like an idiot.
Avatar m tn You can try hypnosis to deal with fear of flying. It helps the process if you read up on medical hypnosis, because you will be more accepting of it. One session 20 years ago worked for me, because I had prepped with the book.
Avatar m tn Agreed. But some of these fears can be overcome. Puppies and chicks tend to be fast moving. Find the right kind of puppy at a pound or store, and I bet his response will be different.
Avatar f tn You can try hypnosis to deal with the fear of flying. That works for some people but if you have a lot of things that make you anxious the psychologist might be required.
1021784 tn?1306363011 For me, the most crucial step I took in confronting my anxiety was to gain knowledge about it...it made it much less daunting to deal with. I also believe that we can tend to fear what we do not know, so 'learning to know' about the sources and ways to confront it really helped me in the long run.
633403 tn?1281175065 Has anyone tried to use hypnosis to stop drinking. I have downloaded a few hypnotic sessions to help. But apparently it is not working because I am still drinking. If someone has one good to try I would love to know. By the way I have gotten back into AA. I find after a meeting I want to drink because all we are talking about for an hour is alcohol.
Avatar n tn Has anyone tried hypnosis for weight loss? So many diet drugs interact with Synthroid so I though maybe it was worth a shot. Just curious! (Ive gained 50 lbs since TT and quitting smoking a year ago) Yikes!!!!!!!!!!
Avatar m tn If the hypnotism worked once, then they must have given you instructions on how to self-hypnotize so you could use that in future to deal with your fear. Do they give you have self-hypnosis info?
Avatar n tn Maybe try clinical hypnosis which is used to cure fear of flying.
Avatar f tn So, this type of problem make an issue after some time so as soon as possible you go for the eye care specialist. I hope your problem overcome early.
Avatar m tn The nerve pressure is likely nothing. Maybe it is an irritation response from the pillow. So your problem is anxiety and worrying (for nothing it seems since you are just 23?) over getting a heart attack and bad health. If you have no reason to believe your heart or health is bad then you are likely ok, however you should talk it over with doc to get his opinion since you can't be diagnosed from here.
Avatar n tn I had a traumatic experience when I was a young child which left me with the fear of uncontrolled bleeding. I have attempted to overcome this fear through therapy and work in medical and dental offices. However, it returns to paralyze me at times. I need a molar extracted due to an abcess and the fear of bleeding has returned. I have had extractions in the past and obviously I survived but the anxiety continues to be huge.
Avatar f tn However, since I had my second child (a BEAUTIFUL boy) those trips - both long and short- have had to stop. I have very suddenly developed a fear of riding in cars that I have never experienced before. I look at those two beautiful children in the backseat and am paralyzed with fear at something happening to them in an accident. The odd thing is that my husband is a wonderful driver who has never been in a single accident or even gotten a ticket.
Avatar n tn her urine for excessively long periods of time--12 hours one day and 191/2 on another. She is 3 years old and not toilet trained..she has a fear of releasing into the toilet. We have changed nothing in the last 3 days, but she did have a UTI at the end of November. I am a bit worried about this, but was wondering if I should pursue something immediately or wait and see if it is a behavioral issue. Thanks!
Avatar f tn It is not something I feel comfortable speaking to anyone about, nor medical professionals as they do not understand how vulnerable a hypnotised person is, or anything about hypnosis. I do not remember the people who did this to me, and I have extreme emotional post traumatic stress. I see people, and wonder if they have raped me. I have seen myself raped on someones cell phone video, I did not go to the police. There have been threats against me made by the "hood".
Avatar f tn I would recommend trying hypnosis for fear of flying. One session worked for me including them teaching how to self hypnotize so you can do it every time for future trips. Much handier than obtaining and packing meds - if you try it, they recommend that you read about it first because the more you understand about it, the easier it is for the session to work.
Avatar m tn See a Dr, we can't diagnosis you.

Avatar m tn their is no chance of HIV without condom breakage...to overcome your fears ...take a test....taking a test can come out of fear 99% than googing...
Avatar f tn What is the best way to overcome anxiety that is rooted in the fear of disease
Avatar f tn Have had several EKGs done at Er and besides that went to a cardiologist and had a chest xray, ultrasound, stress test, nuclear stress test. All came back normal. Well I still get the fear of heart attacks!! Right now I have a pain on my left back, to my neck and it's scaring me to death! How do I get over this? Does anyone else feel like this?
Avatar f tn These patients all had different diagnoses, yet they were all affected by the same cause. It has been proven that fear can cause disease, and even death. Though this idea is not new, our understanding of it is progressing because of new technologies that give us a window into the brain. The underlying ancient concept, formalized decades ago by Dr. Robert K. Merton, can be found in Greek mythological stories and elsewhere.
Avatar f tn t as bad as the worst which led to the phobia. This also develops the habit of facing the fear and it also leads to the only way I feel a phobia can be overcome and that's repetition. If a person fears going over a bridge for the first time in a long time, they probably can't feel that same emotion after doing it a dozen times in a short period of time, then do it regularly after that.
Avatar f tn I am going through this. I have ocd.
