Avatar n tn Interestingly I also have liver cysts - called simple cysts. There may be no connection of course. But I have read somewhere that ovarian cysts can be connected to PPIs. I also have gastro polyps as a result of long term use of PPIs. To avoid the polyps you might want to consider getting off PPIs once you have the acid reflux under control - and then seriously change your diet to make sure you don't get reflux again (less animal fats, sugars, acid food etc.).
Avatar n tn My daughter is 20 years of age and has Ovarian Cysts. What started initially as a small complex Ovarian Cysts now on scan the Dr. says is getting bigger and has put her on birth control pill. How does one get Ovarian Cysts. Please help.
Avatar m tn s or earlier then you have less than a 2% ovarian cancer over a life time. 98% of ovarian cysts are benign cysts can be the size of grapefruits. I was surprised that an ultra sound could show ovarian cancer but it can. Mine showed cancer. I had an ultrasound on Thursday. The doctor called me Monday and told me I had a mass. I saw the Oncologist on the next day and was in surgery in three days. You probably all ready know this but it is good to go to a GYN/Oncologist.
Avatar n tn Today my doctor said i got Ovarian Cysts. Now it is really hard for me to be pregnant. Does Ovarian Cysts mean that i am pregnant? affective by Ovarian Cysts mean that i should be pregnant? My pregancy test was not so strong. like i tested 3 times. 1st and 3rd time it shows im not pregnant. but 2nd time it shows im pregnant. plz tell me what am i suppose to do? is that really mean that if i hav Ovarian Cysts i could be pregnant?
Avatar n tn MRI following an ultrasound is not routine, no. Checking back 3 years is not routine, either. I don't understand the logic of that at all. The only time I've heard of doctors checking previous films was to check previous mammograms, not previous ovarian ultrasounds (at least not 3 years back). It's not just the sizes of cysts that matter, what about the nature of these cysts?
Avatar f tn Fluid-filled ovarian cysts can get really big, and when they do they hurt. There are a lot of other kinds of cysts that affect the ovaries (if you really want to amuse yourself, look up teratomas and if you really want to freak yourself out, look up chocolate cysts) but if a doc said it was fluid filled and would resolve, then all she has to deal with is pain management.
Avatar n tn D and C or ablation is done for heavy periods resulting from endometrial hyperplasia and not for ovarian cysts. If you want to go the natural way then you can wait for a spontaneous regression of the ovarian cyst. This will require follow up with frequent ultrasound scans. Hope this helps. Take care and good luck.
Avatar f tn I have 2 complex cysts on my left ovary measuring 2.5 cm. They have been there since 2013 and have doubled in size. I'm 50 years old and post menopausal and have been on hormone replacement therapy for several years. I wasn't aware of the cysts until last week. I had a CT done last week for gallbladder concerns andthe cysts were noted on the CT report and noted that they have increased in size for the CT I had done in 2013 for kidney stones.
Avatar f tn I am sorry you have to go threw this, it is very stressfull to have this hanging over your head. Keep in mind most cysts are benign!! Since this has been ongoing for you and TV showed a complex cysts, warrants a very through work up to rule out any other potential issues. My wife was recently Dx with granulosa Cell cancer( GCT) Jan 2010.
Avatar m tn I'm 23 years old. and until now I had 5 times ovarian dermoid cysts that had been removed by laparoscopia surgery. the size of the cysts are usually between 5-12 cm. sometimes I had more than 1 cyst at the same time (it means 3 cysts that had been removed all together by surgery). I had 2 emergency surgeries because the cysts circled my ovary. Right now I have 11 cm ovarian cyst. This is the 6 time I need to take the cysts out by surgery. what can I do in order to prevent it?
Avatar n tn Hi I had no periods for two years - and then started with heavy bleeding a year ago. I, too, have a history of many ovarian cysts - all benign. But no cyst surgeries. I went to a new GYN (my old one was not worried and I was). The new GYN did an ultrasound to measure the thickness of the uterine lining and it was over 6 - it should be under that if you are menopausal. So the next step was endometrial biopsy and D&C.
Avatar n tn Hi, It's very possible that this isn't necessarily a "functional" cyst. It could be just a simple cyst or some other type. I'm post menopausal --- way post menopausal and I had a cyst last January. Check out the top right of this page where it says "Health Pages" . There is a lot of information on cysts and remember that 95% of cysts are benign, as mine was. They may want to monitor it every 3 months or so to check for any changes.. but try not to worry .
Avatar f tn but it seems like you have had many scans and a consistent problem with cysts. Ovarian cancer would not get smaller like your cysts have done. But, with endo and a family history of ovarian cancer, I am not sure about the Lupron and birth control pills. Have you ever had a CT scan? Perhaps this would shed more light on the type of cysts you are dealing with. It doesn't sound like you have confidence in your doctor and a second opinion never hurts. Trust your intuition.
Avatar n tn I have had several operations for ovarian cysts removal. 12 years ago I had my right ovary removed because the cyst spread over the whole ovary, and 2 years ago it spread to the left ovary, and had that removed. Now the cyst on my left ovary has resurfaced. I am feeling alot of pain, and I have been to the doctor and was told to follow up on my cyst but I never did because of insurance reasons. But I have been having pains on my left side, like a burning and painful sensation.
1872158 tn?1320302628 Hello Indah I am actually 14 years old and I have been dealing with ovarian cysts since I was 10 years old. There is no real cure for ovarian cysts but waiting it out until they naturally burst which can be very very painful. There are some solutions to it, doctors say for females the cysts occur because of our monthly cycle, its never too late to take birth control which is one of the solutions to cysts but it all depends on the person.
564029 tn?1216423219 There are different types of cysts, you can go to the link on the top of this page on the right that says health forum, and there is a list for all types of ovarian cysts. Did your dr. tell you what kind of cyst you have? Have you had a TV/US? During your reproductive years it is very common to get functional ovarian cysts that can disappear after a few menstrual cycles. Could it be your doctor is doing a watchful waiting to see if they go away? How long have you had the cyst?
Avatar n tn Is it possible to have ovarian cysts when all the medical tests have come back normal
Avatar f tn I was diagnosed years ago with Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome. It causes weight gain and a lot of cysts on your ovaries. I unfortunately have done a lot of research on this matter, talked to a lot of doctors and know that it is a very difficult thing to get rid of. If you find that you have this, you will discover that it also affects the insulin levels in your body and I have to be on Metformin, which they use for diabetics, even though I am not diabetic.
Avatar f tn I have had ovarian cysts for many years that have been watched by my DR. The last US showed a Right ovarian cyst does not show overall clear change in size compared with 5/7/2015, but today shows what appears to be a new echogenic mural nodule measuring 0.5 cm. MRI is suggested.. What does this mean? I'm scared to death...I'm 65 and on the Kidney Transplant list and One more problem is all i can take. Could someone PLEASE explain this to me. And advice on what I shou;d do.
Avatar m tn It would be unusual for her to have a problem with the remaining ovary. Usually, ovarian cysts pose no other issue once they have been removed. She should talk to her doctor to make sure there was not anything unusual about her cyst that could affect the other ovary. But, in general, she should be fine!
Avatar n tn Many cysts do resolve themselves but the fact that you are having pain may mean they have not. Please have your doctor run another transvaginal ultrasound to check. Good luck with everything.
