Avatar n tn Hello! My husband and I are trying to have babies. I started working with a fertility clinic and they sent me to have some tests done. I had some type of X-ray of my uterus and I wasn't scheduled for an appointment with the fertility doctor until five weeks later. I thought everything was f ine, but when we got to the clinic, the doctor informed me I was going to have an ultrasound. He said the X-ray showed a grothw in my left ovary. The growth is the size of a "softball", he said.

Avatar f tn So, I'm new here, and I don't really post on forums, so I apologize in advance if I'm not doing this right... So, I was drawn to this site when it came up when I searched for a situation close to mine (largish cysts And apparent uterine prolapse), but results weren't left by the poster, so I have no idea how it turned out! I'm pretty nervous, though oddly excited as well.
Avatar n tn I have many risk factors and symptoms of OVCA I went to the ER and the x-ray said I was very constipated and the CT scan said I have a small cysts on my right ovary. The pain is all in my pelvic and low back area, Has anyone with OVCA been misdiagnosed?
Avatar n tn If the pain and chills continue, or if she develops a fever she needs to be evaluated by a gynecologist for ultrasound. Ovarian cysts are usually benign growths and are not as uncommon as some people think. The only thing that causes ovarian cysts to become an emergency if they are large, if it is causing the ovary to twist, or if an infection develops. However, I believe that the cause of your wife's discomfort if from a rupturing ovarian cyst. I hope she gets to feeling better soon.
1337047 tn?1275914064 I am frightened of the surgery, but more scared of what will be found there. I did have a chest x ray and that was clear - he said that fluid ont the lungs is a real indication of ovarian cancer. I will call today, and ask for a date as soon as possible. I'm not sure if he is a gynecologist/oncologist, but I have known women who have dealt with him and they all say he is good. My hairdresser told me on Friday, that I should be glad he is the one looking after me.
Avatar n tn A week later, I was having major pain in RLQ and so I went to the ER. They did an x-ray to rule out appendicitis. They found a bone island in my pelvis the size of a quarter. I went back to my doctor and he ordered a CT scan. It showed cysts on my ovaries about 2 cm in size. I know that is not large, but these suckers are killing me. Could this be the cause of my pain? My stomach is so bloated and it really hurts to button my pants.
Avatar n tn t believe I am the community leader for this forum and forgot to point out that if you go up to the top and right under the titel of Ovarian Cysts Community is a blued ovarian cysts. If you click on this it gives you more detail and graphic pictures.
Avatar f tn The right ovary is enlarged and measures 8.2 x 4.9 x 4.0 cm. There is a complex ovarian mass that measures 5.3 x 3.1 x 3.6 cm fine low level internal echoes. There is another complex cystic lesion that measures 3.0 x 2.4 x 3.4 cm with fine low level Lacey echoes. No flow is identified within these lesions and they likely represent hemorrhagic cysts. A simple cyst is also noted measuring 4.3 x 2.4 x 3.4 cm. And the report states that I have free fluid by my vaginal cuff.
Avatar f tn 7 cm with a relatively large right ovarian probable simple cyst measuring 4.1 x 4.1 x 4.2 cm with a contiguous complex cyst possibly a hemorrhagic cyst measuring 3.2 x 3.1 x 4.
Avatar f tn Within the right adnexa the right ovary is enlarged. Ovarian tissue measures 4.5 x 3.0 x 5.1 cm. A peripherally enhancing low-attenuation lesion measures 2 cm and is present inferiorly. Posteriorly there is a simple-appearing low-attenuation lesion measuring 3.9 x 3.1 cm. The right ovary is 3 cm and normal size. Uterus is normal size. Distal colon is unremarkable. There is no free fluid. Impression: 1. Diverticulitis involving the cecum. Normal appendix. No abscess. 2.
Avatar f tn left ovary has simple unilocular cyst 3.3 x 3.6 x 3.4 cm.overall ovary size 4.9 x 4.2 x 3.8 cm smaller cysts on right ovary. The left one has increased from l2/28/09 which was 3.0 x 2.7 x 2.7 cm. I am almost 80,and have read in a woman my age there is a good possibility it could get "funny" cancerous. I am really think it is time to have them out,had these cysts since early twenties and tired of worring about them. Comments Please.
Avatar f tn Normal bloodwork, plain abdominal x-ray showed excessive intestinal gas. Pain continued for several days and then nausea came also. I also have irregular bowel movements. I was diagnosed with ibs and started treatment which didn't help. About a week ago i had a ct in my upper and lower abdomen. The findings were thickening of the rectum, sigmoid colon, pylorus and my duodenum. Also i have an ovarian cyst 3,3cm in my right ovary. As far as i know ovarian cysts don't cause any symptoms.
Avatar n tn I recently had an X-Ray on both my feet as i have had sore heels for the past 2 months and on the report it advises in my right foot Cuboid bone, two sclerotic densities are seen, highly suggestive of bone island. Could you please xplain what is meant by this?
Avatar f tn You can freak yourself out googling ovarian cysts. Ovarian cancer is scary. Tee statistic I read today is that you have 1.4% of getting ovarian cancer which is not very high. That means you have a 99.6% you will never get ovarian cancer.
Avatar f tn I'm not an expert but it does look like she has two ovarian cysts with one being a dermoid cyst. These can cause a lot of symptoms and hopefully she is now set to get this dealt with. Do take a look at the health pages (top right) for info on types of cysts and symptoms. In her case it is likely they will use a laparoscope and remove the cysts. What did they say the next steps were? It is likely that MedHelp will move your posting to the Ovarian Cyst forum.
Avatar f tn NO, they have no clue! They have ruled out ovarian cysts and cancer and shes too young for ectopic pregnancy (thankfully!) . Im waiting now for them to do either a CT scan or a colonoscopy. They just keep telling me its nothing to worry about ! Shes in permanent pain , she cries herself to sleep most nights and as a family its tearing us apart with worry. It gets worse after food. She has had constipation but the last x ray showed that had gone but the pain goes on.
Avatar f tn Although these traits can occur with cancer, they can also occur with benign cysts. And most cysts are benign. The average woman's lifetime risk of ovarian cancer is very low at 1.3%. So if you do not have a genetic predisposition / family history of ovarian cancer then the odds are greatly in your favor that they are benign. Is your doctor monitoring them for now with periodic ultrasounds?
718910 tn?1230310121 She now has a complex left ovarian cyst, most likely hemorrhagic, measuring 3.0 x 3.9 x 4.7 cm with the left ovary measuring 5.1 x 5.8 x 6.3 cm in diameter. An insignificant amount of fluid is seen in the cul-de-sac. What does this mean? Should I be concerned? I had the right ovary removed due to a dermoid cyst 6.8 cm.
Avatar m tn s ultra showed right ovary 3.6 X 2.5 cms. Left, 3.2 x 2.1 both with multiple small cysts average 5mm in diameter. i.e. smaller cysts but more in number than the last test. Is it a fact that I won't get rid of the acne until the cysts are gone? 3. Should I be on a different med or stronger dosage of the same ( uterus, bladder, Douglas normal) thanks in advance (nb i tried this on teens health and got no response.
Avatar f tn If you are not BRCA positive you have a1.4% of ovarian cancer. 98% of cysts even big ones are benign. I think if you have had 3 transvaginal ultrasounds the cancer would show up by now. It spreads to other organs and the omentum. They can see that on an ultrasound. If the doctor was thinking cancer they would send you to a Gyn/oncologist. I was sent the day after my ultrasound. I am BRCA positive.
Avatar f tn Thank you but do you mean simple ovarian fluid filed cysts are 99% benign or do you mean complex cysts like mine too ?
Avatar n tn MOST ovarian cysts (even complex / suspicious looking ones) are benign and it seems ovarian cysts are more common after hysterectomy due to the histological changes to the ovaries (likely due to loss of blood flow and feedback loop with the uterus). If your gynecologist deems this cyst concerning based on the traits specified on the ultrasound, you will want to see a gynecologic oncologist.
