Avatar f tn Hi Jada, and welcome to the fourm. You can definately have a cyst while on birth contorl pills. Sometimes the doctor will put you on BCP's to see if it will help keep you from developing cysts, but you can still develope them while taking the pill. I would ask your doctor for a transvaginal ultrasound. It will help the doctors tell what is going on. Please call your doctor tomorrow and see if you can get an appointment. I would suggest calling your gyn for the advice on what to do.
Avatar f tn Hi everyone. I'm very much a 'worrier' so sorry if my questions make your eyes roll :) I'm a 25 year old female with no children who is overweight (5'5, 200lbs). I have a family history of cysts and PCOS but no cancer. When I was about 20, I had a functional ovarian cyst diagnosed via internal ultrasound (not sure how big it was).
Avatar f tn t need to be on the pill to help prevent ovarian cysts. Well, I have stopped the pill again, about year after my second surgery. I have been feeling a lot of pain again on my right ovary. I am wondering if I have developed another cyst/follicle. It has only been about two weeks after stopping the pill. I am not sure if it is scar tissue that causes the pain, or maybe the pain is due to the fact that I am ovulating again. Or, like I said, maybe I have another cyst.
Avatar n tn I am obviously going to have to go on the pill...I've tried a few a while back and they didn't really agree with me I would have bloating or my weight was an issue, mood swings... What is the best birth control pill out there that won't make u gain any weight????????????
Avatar n tn What started initially as a small complex Ovarian Cysts now on scan the Dr. says is getting bigger and has put her on birth control pill. How does one get Ovarian Cysts. Please help.
Avatar f tn Same situation as you here. Pain was dreadful but the cyst isn't big. Doctors will do surgery if you have been on the pill for a while (first stage of treatment) and are having severe pain that is affecting your life. I would just make sure that you are clear to your doctor about how bad the pain is and talk to them about your concerns.
Avatar f tn Yeah I did get a few some were the choc. ones and the others were not.

Avatar n tn I am 38 and have been suffering with cramping for the whole month of Feb. and even until these first few days of Mar. On Mar. 8th, I went to bed with the worst of the pain since it has started. I had to sleep in the fetal position with a pillow and it didn't help at all. I called my gyne the next day and he told me to take a preg. test and if I wasn't, to take 2 Aleve every 12 hrs. It took away the harshness of the pain, but I was still cramping. I went to the ER.
Avatar n tn Her doctor wants her to try the shot but she already had nasty side effects when starting the pill, if she gets side effects with the shot it will last much longer. I just don't want to see her in pain anymore, it almost hurts me more to see her suffer.
Avatar f tn As for your question about taking the mini pill, I have been on back to back pill (no gap days) and the doctors say that this will keep the endo under control, although I did form new ovarian cysts while taking it and after my second operation I am now back on Decapeptyl for another 6 months. |Ihope it works for you.

Avatar n tn My ob/gyn told me I needed to choose between bc pill and ovarian drilling surgery to reduce the cysts on my ovaries. I chose to start with the pill. Did I make the right choice? I am 37, had 3 mc, 1 DD, and 1 ectopic all conceived on clomid.
Avatar f tn HiI have been having irregular periods for almost a year and the last 6 months it has got worse and I put weight on. I have periods all the time. I went to see a doc and she recommended having an ultrasound as the last month or 2 I'm constantly bloated, constipation which I've never had till now, constant back ache at the bottom of my back, pressure during sex and really uncomfortable feeling in my left area.
Avatar f tn ve done some research and it looks like ovarian cysts. Is this possible while on the pill and can I get one on each ovary and have both cause pain?
Avatar f tn Hi, Just browsing the internet and figured I'd put myself out there... I had my first ovarian cyst at 18 or 19 years old and I'm now 22, almost 23 and have had multiples ovarian cysts since then. Just a week ago, I had a 9cm. cyst removed. This is taking such an emotional toll on me. I'm afraid this will affect my fertility and health. Also, OTC pain medications do not help at all unfortunately.
Avatar f tn Its always on my right side. My gyno kept pushing the pill on me, and eventually I tried it. Within 4 hours of taking the pill my chest got very tight and i was so dizzy that i couldnt function. So I never took another after that. From taking that 1 pill, I was dizzy for a week . What I want to know is if there is another way to keep the cysts from forming?? Without having to take hormones.
Avatar n tn I've not heard of a radiation pill either. I've heard of radiation treatments where tiny radioactive pellets are inserted near the malignant area to treat that one spot. My father-in-law had that done for his prostate cancer. Less traumatic than full out surgery.
Avatar f tn Definitely sounds like ovarian cyst pain, I'm amazed you put up with it this long. Hasn't your doctor done *anything,* like put you on the pill to try to shrink it? I'd go see him tomorrow effing morning and say you absolutely need to have this dealt with.
Avatar f tn I am on birth control to help regulate my period (Camila progestin- only) so I can start TTC in the next couple of months. I looked up this pill and it said the pill can cause ovarian cysts. Should I ask to be switched? Thanks for answering!
958401 tn?1249654586 I think they should tell every woman who is at risk or has had ovarian cysts to go on the pill straight away. It should be mandatory as it could save us women a lot of heartache. If they'd have told me my life would be completely different now.
Avatar n tn My cramps are mild just annoying take a few Advil here and there. Getting my period next week. Calling my dr today, to find out about the pain on the right but cyst on the left. I would like to try an all natural way. The joys of being a women.
Avatar n tn I'm 32 and have 2 kids.. I recently had 1 cyst on my right ovary and it was 3.2cm and now it has shrunk to 1.0cm and no on my left ovary I have 2 cysts and there both 3.2cm... Which I'm not worried about the cyst but my doctor wants me to take a CA125 test to make sure my levels are not high, which can indicate Ovarian Cancer. I'm very scared.. What are really the chances of having ovarian cancer.. I'm on the pill only for acne reasons and not very good at taking daily..
