Avatar f tn Cysts are so very, very common in younger women. If you check the top right of this page at "Health Pages" you will see a lot of information about cysts. They many times, are just part of the cycle and will resolve themselves on their own. I don't know how they could be so sure it was a cyst without another ultrasound. She needs to make another appointment and have another ultrasound if she's in that much pain. Was that a transvaginal ultrasound?

Avatar f tn I fear you may have one of many possible conditions going on here. Ovarian Cysts are painful but typically not harmful. however, with a history of them, you may be ignoring signs of a more serious condition. The sudden large ammount of weight loss, is a worry as well. I think you should go see your OB/Gyn as soon as possible, but if you refuse to go due to insurance, you need to look into local medical programs. I am for example, a critical care nurse at a county hopspital.
Avatar f tn My doctor doesn’t seem to worry because I’m not currently trying to have a baby but I am worried about no period and all my ovarian cysts since they are extremely painful does anyone have any suggestions on a kind of specialist I should see or what tests they should do or anything and experiences?
Avatar n tn m SO tender in there and most of the time the ultrasound is very uncomfortable. IF you think you have ovarian cysts just give your gyno a call, make an appointment to go in and have the ultrasound done. It only takes a few minutes. :) If your mother had them then chances are you have them. Good luck with everything :) if you have anymore questions about cysts please feel free to ask..
Avatar m tn More than 98%t of ovarian cysts are none cancer. Ovarian cysts in women are very common. Most resolve themselves with out surgery. If you can take something like Ibuprofen that can help with inflammation.
Avatar f tn i was diagnose with secondary desmonoreha about 4 months ago.i have very painful periods( i have to stay home) i was taking vicodine and ibprofen800mg for pain. my period lasts 8=10 days.i have had this problem for about 2 yrs and 4 months ago i took the time to see a doctor.2wks ago the pain got so bad i had to go to the ER.they did an vaginal ultrasound because they could not see my left ovary with a regular ultrasound.i got my medical records today and it says i have a small 0.
Avatar m tn Ended up having stage 3 endo, ovarian cysts (pcos), as well as uterine fibroids/cysts. They used a laser on the endo that they could, removed the ovarian cysts & did a d&c. It has helped some, mostly with the pain during sex, but as much pain as it was causing some improvement is better than none. Since I'm ttc there isn't any treatment I can take long term and I still suffer from all of these issues and they are likely the reason I am having so much difficulty conceiving.
Avatar f tn Ovarian cysts can be very painful - however with everything else going on have they suggested any treatment for you? I would recommend making an appt with your doctor or even a second opinion to see what all is going on. In the meantime, one thing you can do is start keeping a journal of al of your symptoms. Be as specific as possible about what cycle day you are on, pain level, what the pain feels like, how long it lasts and what you do/take for it, and where the pain is.
1570931 tn?1315840395 And ive been having an almost constant body ach for two days along with a bad back pain,(in my upper back and its normally in my lower back) took a hpt today and it was BFN Not sure what to think though, i dont normally get sharp pains like this so part of me is worried my cysts came back, (I used to get hormonal ovarian cysts when i was younger)
Avatar f tn Simple ovarian cysts are very common. Most women have them from one time to another. If your doctor is aware of it and doing nothing, then it is that type of cyst. How did you have it diagnosed? They generally pass on their own and it is pretty much like a painful period with a bit more cramping and bleeding than usual. I've been through this. Not particularly pleasant but not earth shattering either. hang in there. And do get confirmation from your doctor regarding your cyst.
Avatar f tn t been in a relationship in 18 months (went through a bad break up). So, I meet a really wonderful man and when we had sex it was very painful and the bloating, cramping and pain afterward lasted for days, so I go to my OB and they find an ovarian cyst on each ovary. They said "Let's watch it over the course of a few months and see if it goes away on its own or bursts".
Avatar f tn For me it started last september when i went to see my GP as i had not had a period for 3 months and was not pregnant and constant diareah, i also had some sight problems which i wish i had not said as he sent me down the wrong road thinking i have a pitituary tumor, which my endo consultant did some blood tests and ruled this out saying she thinks i have mild pcos. Eventually my periods started again but were very heavy and very very painful which is still happening now.
Avatar n tn Hi, You don't say what your age is but cysts are very , very common in younger women. It probably isn't so much that your cyst "spread".. but that you have another one. If you check out the top right of this page, it will explain a lot about cysts. Again, they are very very common in younger (pre menopausal) women. Many times they will simply disappear on their own. Other times they will grow and have to be removed surgically. 95% of them are benign..
Avatar f tn Hello all. Let me start by saying I know no one can diagnose me, and that I know I need to wait for testing/results, but in the meantime I have a few questions that I can't seem to find answers for in all my searching, so I apologize for what are probably (to you all) redundant/hysterical questions ;) I have an U/S scheduled for tomorrow. I am 99.5% sure that I have ascites - when I try to research it, I get a lot about liver/heart disease, and ovarian cancer.
1570931 tn?1315840395 Oh i hope its not bad, I mean I usually get some discomfort, but my nipples are a dark red almost purplish color and everything is just swollen and painful. Ive also had cramps like im on my pd for a week, but it still hasn't come. Could ovarian cysts cause pain like this?
Avatar n tn I hear that ovarian cysts have the same symptoms as pregnancy. Anyone have experience with them and can tell the difference?
Avatar m tn I have a 6cm cyst and it's very painful and my obgyn want take it off I am constantly in pain help
Avatar n tn t really tell until they do surgery (only done if very large and/or painful). Most cysts go away on their own. I will warn you when they do it is painful though so if you get what feels like a really painful period cramp that came on very suddenly and without warning....you probably popped! Is yours painful? Most complex cysts are nothing to worry about as 95% of them are benign (I think, you can double check the health pages at the top of the website) and most resolve on their own.
Avatar f tn Try not to worry. Ovarian cysts are very common and most are benign. It would be very unlikely for you to have a malignancy without more signs and symptoms. It is standard for the doctors to ask about your family history of cancer. I hope all goes well! Keep us posted on how you are doing!
Avatar f tn I'm not an expert but it does look like she has two ovarian cysts with one being a dermoid cyst. These can cause a lot of symptoms and hopefully she is now set to get this dealt with. Do take a look at the health pages (top right) for info on types of cysts and symptoms. In her case it is likely they will use a laparoscope and remove the cysts. What did they say the next steps were? It is likely that MedHelp will move your posting to the Ovarian Cyst forum.
1872158 tn?1320302628 There is no real cure for ovarian cysts but waiting it out until they naturally burst which can be very very painful. There are some solutions to it, doctors say for females the cysts occur because of our monthly cycle, its never too late to take birth control which is one of the solutions to cysts but it all depends on the person. Cysts can be harmless unless the are reacurring, when it reacures often, you might be at risk for ovarian cancer. Only do the operation IF NECASSARY!!!
