ovarian-cysts

Avatar f tn suggested you do ? Ovarian Cysts and ovarian cancer can cause many similar symptoms. There is absolutely no way to tell for certain unless and until surgery is performed and the path results come back. Having said that, cysts are very very common and 95% benign. The best course of action is to speak with your physician to see what his recommended course of action is. They may possibly suggest removal, but sometimes, they prefer to wait awhile to see if they resolve themselves.
Avatar f tn should i be concern,i have a ovarian mass 7.
551683 tn?1220656108 The symptoms you are describing are very much in line with ovarian cysts. Do you know what size or type of cysts you have? Surgery for cysts depends on size, type and whether you are in pain. In many cases if surgery is required it can be done laporascopically. Don't ignore the cysts. You really should have a gyn dealing with them. Take a look at the health pages attached to the ovarian cyst forum. There is some good information on types of cysts that you might be helpful.
Avatar f tn I am 16 years old, I was diagnosed with ovarian cysts after many times to the hospital in may. I've been to my OB several of times. But everytime I go she kinda brushes off my symptoms. I'm having fatigue, low energy, frequent headaches, back pain, hip pain, and of course low abdominal pain. I'm also in constant pain, at times it gets worse.
Avatar f tn I have had an ultrasound and MRI that indicate an ovarian cyst (6cm, 4cm) in my left ovary. OB/GYN suggests oopherectomy and testing cysts during thsi surgery to determine if more would need to be done. MRI shows septations and Ultrasound mentioned something about possibly internal papillary projections. MRI offers no definitive answer...just possibility cyst could be a hemmoragic cyst, an endometrioma, or cystic neoplasm.
1337047 tn?1275914064 t want to frighten you because there is no way to know for sure if you have ovarian cancer until you remove the tumor and biopsy it. But, the symptoms you are describing coupled with your high CA-125 are concerning. 1500 is a pretty high reading for CA-125. The risk of a malignant cyst is increased in postmenopausal women too. I can see you are in Canada and so I don't really know what to recommend as far as speeding up the medical process.
Avatar f tn So I have looked up symptoms of ovarian cysts and one that caught my eye was weight gain. Has anyone ever gained weight because of cysts? I can not seem to lose any weight. I wonder if the cysts are causing this?
Avatar f tn I'm not an expert but it does look like she has two ovarian cysts with one being a dermoid cyst. These can cause a lot of symptoms and hopefully she is now set to get this dealt with. Do take a look at the health pages (top right) for info on types of cysts and symptoms. In her case it is likely they will use a laparoscope and remove the cysts. What did they say the next steps were? It is likely that MedHelp will move your posting to the Ovarian Cyst forum.
Avatar f tn It can be diagnosed only by doing surgery. Google it and see if your symptoms might be caused by endo. I have it and I know how miserable one can be, but there are solutions. Your doctor can certainly tell you more. And heating pad is very helpful with menstrual pain.
Avatar f tn Hopefully, the cysts will resolve on their own so you can avoid surgery. If the cysts continue to grow and you need surgery, seek out a surgeon with good cystectomy skills. Removal of even one ovary can have very serious consequences since it can cause a surgical type "menopause." And of course, losing both will put you in surgical "menopause" with all its medically documented health risks.
Avatar f tn t do a surgery only team medical doctor will do the surgery for my ovarian cysts he will sent my result to my GP then my GP sent the result to royal London hospital I need to wait for 4 to 5 weeks my symptoms started last Nov.
Avatar n tn It will usually grow and cause more symptoms. But, sometimes, benign complex cysts also grow and have to be removed surgically. Generally, when it reaches 5cm or greater or shows a trend toward growing..surgery is recommended. I did have backache with my tumor. It was 6cm. I know doctor's don't usually acknowledge that small cysts can contribute to back pain. But, there are many women who have had small cysts and do have pain. I think it can contribute to it.
Avatar f tn I also gained some weight and lost my sex drive. Has anyone else had these symptoms w/ ovarian cysts. I have been tested and I am not in menopause! Any advise would be helpful. thanks!
Avatar f tn My gynecologist worried me by telling me that all of my symptoms point to ovarian cancer, but he is delaying surgery for a few weeks because my CA-125 was only 11.5. However, I know that test can be unreliable, so I'm calling him tomorrow to request surgery sooner. I'm in so much physical discomfort and have no energy. I've lost 25 pounds in less than two months, mostly because I experience severe abdominal pain after eating.
Avatar m tn I'm 23 years old. and until now I had 5 times ovarian dermoid cysts that had been removed by laparoscopia surgery. the size of the cysts are usually between 5-12 cm. sometimes I had more than 1 cyst at the same time (it means 3 cysts that had been removed all together by surgery). I had 2 emergency surgeries because the cysts circled my ovary. Right now I have 11 cm ovarian cyst. This is the 6 time I need to take the cysts out by surgery. what can I do in order to prevent it?
661941 tn?1297447355 7cm on LT and 2 cm on RT. I have been putting off having surgery for some time, but I have have started having symptoms and they are also growing. To make a long story short (almost an impossibility for me) ;) my gyn/onc wants to do a large vertical incision (from just below the breast bone to just above the pubic area... at least 12 in., if not more)... in order to remove the ovaries intact, as well as my uterus & f. tubes.
Avatar f tn I have all the symptoms of ovarian cancer and this past friday I went for a transvaginal ultrasound and an enlarged cyst was found on my right ovary that is painful. The lady doing the ultrasound said it wasn't really a small one either... I have been on birth control for 5 years now and b/c is supposed to prevent functional cysts. I have had all the symptoms of ovca for over a year now just getting worse as time goes by so the cyst has been there for a while.
Avatar f tn Is it possible that the cancer has returned? Could it be Ovarian remnant Syndrome? The only symptoms I seem to have is mild pelvic discomfort (I sometimes feel that I am ovulating but I know I can't) and microscopic blood in my urine. Any help or advice you can give would be greatly appreciated.
Avatar f tn Hello, Your abdominal symptoms of constipation and rectal bleeding are related to each other but are unrelated to ovarian cysts. A complex ovarian cyst is less common than simple ovarian cyst. At such a young age it can eb dermoid cyst which is a type of complex ovarian cyst and is the most common type and develops during the childbearing age. Complex ovarian cysts are generally benign. The risk of malignancy is generally higher among postmenopausal women.
Avatar n tn How large is the ovarian cyst? Ovarian cysts that are 5cm or greater, and are complex (like yours with a solid element) are usually treated with surgery. They have a greater chance of being malignant than smaller, simple cysts. Sometimes, doctors watch and wait smaller cysts and sometimes they choose to operate. Still, most cysts (even larger and complex ones) turn out to be benign.
