Avatar n tn Over 95% of all cysts are benign so it is more than likely not cancerous. There is a lot of information on types of cysts on the health pages (top right). An endometrial cyst is one that is created by endometrial tissue migrating from your uterus to your ovary and then starts bleeding. You should discuss with your doctor whether these cysts or the endometriosis might be affecting your ability to conceive. Good luck.
Avatar n tn But, ovarian cysts at any age can change your hormones and cause these types of symptoms. Unfortunately, no two ovarian cysts show themselves in the same way. So, it is hard to say without having tests to rule out all other causes. In general the list of symptoms you describe sound like they could be related to menopause. But, if you are under 45, then that is less likely. I think you should definitely see your gyn and have some tests to determine the cause. Welcome to the forum!
Avatar f tn is it possible that cancer could grow since my last ct? are these normal cys symptoms? i thought cysts only last a few months.
Avatar n tn If not, you should call the office and let them know about your symptoms. Tell them you think it may be related to your cysts and that you need to see your doctor again. He can give you a transvaginal ultrasound to check on the size of the cysts. You know your body best and any increase in symptoms warrants another doctor visit. That said, most cysts do turn out to be benign. If your doctor didn't let you know your cysts were worrisome after the CT, then that is a good sign.
Avatar f tn as opposed to cysts only hurt during certain times of month? My gyno. says not to worry about my ovarian cyst on my remaining left ovary that she thinks is NOT a chocolate cyst, though the u/s tech (who has been a u/s tech for 15 yrs. and showed me the cyst and other funtional clear cysts-you could see the difference easily! and I have had a choc. cyst before that ruptured, needing emergency surgery-2 pints of blood ended up in my abdomen). The ER Dr. also concurred it is a choc.
Avatar f tn Hello, The fertility drug clomiphene (Clomid, Serophene), which is used to induce ovulation, increases the risk of a corpus luteum cyst developing after ovulation. These cysts don't prevent or threaten a resulting pregnancy. Most ovarian cysts disappear in 8 to 12 weeks. One of the most effective treatments for ovarian cysts is use of contraceptive pills or progesterone pills. It can also be treated surgically and this procedure is known as drilling.
Avatar f tn If the pelvic ultrasound was not transvaginal you might want to request one to see if you have ovarian cysts. They can cause the symptoms you are experiencing. I was diagnosed with IBS for 18 months but it turned out my problems were being caused by cysts on my ovary. Once the cysts were removed and I had recovered from my surgeries the symptoms went away. Good luck.
Avatar f tn My symptoms are pain in the lower left abdomen in the ovary area only , sometimes lower left back pain too and sometimes pain like being stabbed in my side at waist level.
1279767 tn?1277229374 My husband and I have been trying to conceive for about a year off and on with no luck. We have purchased box after box of those over the counter ovulation tests and still no luck. I talked to a few friends and family members about the problem and one thing that keeps popping up is the possibility of me having ovarian cysts, as my mother had them...but yet here I am, so evidently she wasn't infertile.
Avatar n tn ovarian pain on the left side the week before and a few days after my period every month, what is the cause? and how to treat it?
Avatar f tn It’s not painful just annoying & persistent. It feels almost right up on the curve of the pelvic bone on my left side primarily (sometimes the right). No other symptoms or changes. I’m off my period but I think I’m in my fertile (ovulation) window. Could it be ovarian cysts?
Avatar n tn Does birth control help with the pain from ovarian cysts? Does using birth control help ressolve the existing cysts? How long does it take for birth control to show progress in pain and resolution of ovarian cysts? I started using the nuva ring almost two weeks ago. I thought the pain was gone (as it had disappeared for over a week) then all of a sudden this weekend the pain returned with the same intensity. Does this mean the cysts are growing? I am growing extremely frustrated with the pain.
Avatar f tn I know I shouldn’t be on the internet reading about this stuff, but it says menopausal women shouldn’t technically have cysts on their ovaries anymore because there is no ovulation. So that’s why I am worried. I did have a follow-up with my GYN the very following day and she saw the report and told me not to give it a second thought and basically told me “see you next year for your annual”! I guess the fact that she isn’t worries makes me feel better, but my health anxiety has taken over.
Avatar f tn re ovulated from both ovaries or you may have some tiny benign cysts. I have PCOS (polycystic ovarian syndrome). Basically I have tiny cysts on my ovaries and I would feel crampy and feel ovarian pain, especially around ovulation time, but I wasn't ovulating. I am currently taking medication for it and I don't feel ovarian pain/discomfort anymore.
Avatar n tn Hi Corky It is reassuring that you had endometriosis and no evidence of malignant change at surgery. I would assume that the ovarian cysts are either related to ovulation or endometriosis.
162784 tn?1227296050 Just wondering if you had actually been diagnosed with having ovarian cysts because regular pains during ovulation can be quite normal and can indicate that you did indeed ovulate.
1100722 tn?1259638528 am a 18yrs old female ,and i had an ovarian cysts which was on my ovary ,which was remove during surgery when i was16yrs old,so what am askins is ,if its possible for me to get pregnant because i have been trying and i never meet sucess?
Avatar f tn It is a good way to confirm that the cysts are not from ovulation. It can also be helpful if the cysts are from endometriosis.
Avatar n tn I told my friend and she said i could be suffering from Ovarian Cysts (which i had never heard off) the Cyst might have ruptured and the fluid from it landed it my abdominal area thats why i was in so much pain for a few days and as that started to be absorbed by my body wherever the fluid was still would cause little pains and aches. Could this be a possibility?
1676653 tn?1391039945 t mean there is anythign wrong. Is there a particular reason you suspect ovarian cysts? Many women get cysts each cycle when they ovulate but they go away. This is why a lot of women have ovulation cramps. These particular cysts don't hinder conception. The reason why you haven't gotten pregnant is becuase the timing hasn't been just right and that one strong sperm has not been present at the time of ovulation. If you realyl suspect cysts, speak with your obgyn.
Avatar n tn Hi There, one simple way to know if cysts are functional - that is- related to the ovarian - menstrual cycle is to wait a cycle or two and rescan. Cysts that are related to ovulation will be gone and be replaced by new cysts with the new cycle. A persistent or growing cyst may be a tumor benign or malignant. Ca 125 is not a screen for cancer. The result just tells us that this cyst or tumor does not produce the CA 125 protein. I am assuming that tha 4.5 cm, 2.8 cm, 3.3 cm and 4.
Avatar m tn Hello, my name is Keri. Once in a while, it seems during ovulation, or a week before my period I start to feel nausea. This has decreased some, since I have been trying to do gluten free and dairy free. I had blood tests run for numerous things, and the Gyn also ran some tests to see if possible Ovarian cancer. All the tests came back fine. They think that it may be perimenopausal? does this sound possible. I am 39.
