Avatar f tn Do ovarian cyst symptoms and ovarian cancer symptoms look the same? I ask because I have the following: -gas -bloat/distended stomach -pressure -changes in BM's (constipation and diarrhea) -get full easily after eating -tired/fatigues -heartburn/indigestion -changes in menstruation Thank you.
Avatar f tn But, sometimes, two functional cysts can be on top of one another and appear complex. With endometriosis, it is a life long issue of dealing with cysts. I had endometriosis and a complex cyst removed when I was 15 years old. In between that time, I had many other cysts. But, at 37, I had a complex cyst that was ovarian cancer. You really have to take each cyst on their own and follow the guidelines for treatment.
Avatar f tn HI I just had a hysterectomy for a variety of reasons - endometriosis being one of them. I had cysts caused by endo as well. They are able to be picked up by u/s but nobody will say for sure (at least they shouldn't) what something is until it is taken out and biopsied. Endometriomas are complex (have debris, blood and some fluid) and resemble hemorrhagic cysts - both of these are benign.
Avatar f tn If it were on both ovaries it would have spread more and be clear on the ultrasound that it was cancer. 98.6% of cysts are not cancer. A normal woman has a 1.4% chance of ovarian cancer in a life time. It is lower if you are younger. If you had the BRCA gene, women in your family with early ovarian cancer the chances are 20%. If your Gyn is doing a cystectomy that is great. Many take your ovaries which is not good. It is easier to take the ovary out.
Avatar f tn i did have a tubaligation 3 yrs ago at the age of 27, does that have anything to do with it? im tired of taking pain killers for almost 15 days out of the month.its affecting my work.any suggestions?
Avatar n tn I just don't have any of the symptoms of PCOS. They aren't tiny cysts...the one the Dr. removed was the size of a grapefruit. I also don't think I have insulin resistance, again I don't have any symptoms. Is there an estogen component to PCOS?
Avatar m tn I have an extremely high ca-125 of 850. I have done an ultrasound and have two cysts located in my left ovary as well as a very large uterine fibroid. I have also suffered from endometriosis for the last ten years or so. I currently am 45 years old and have not reached menopause. Over the last few months I have experienced persisting pain in my uterus and heavy bleeding that have caused me to become anemic and lethargic.
Avatar m tn I have stage 4 endometriosis and have had complex endometrioma cysts, one of which was the size of a grapefruit and destroyed my left ovary and Fallopian tube when I was 30. I also had them rupture in the past which was excruciating. My CA125 levels were always around 35. My endo caused infertility and egg quality issues so after 5 unsuccessful IVF cycles with my own eggs I had success using an egg donor. I often worry about reproductive cancers but they will not do a hysterectomy.
Avatar n tn Has anyone heard of any connections between endometriosis and peritoneal(ovarian cancer) developing?
Avatar f tn Hi, I recently had a vaginal ultra sound scan as the Dr thought I had ovarian cysts, however the scan came back clear. I am still frustrated as I suffer from the following symptoms and wonder if anyone has the same symptoms as me? Feeling very sick/nauseous Abdominal pain Diorrhea Loss of apetite Exhaustion Back pain Inside pain, like period pain (and also a dull ache inside). I just don't know what to do.
Avatar f tn Bilateral Ovarian Endometriotic cyst means you have chocolate cysts in both of your ovaries which is a sign of Endometriosis. I have heard before that if you have Endometriotic cysts it could mean that you have deep infiltrating endometriosis. Have you ever been told you have Endometriosis? Do you have pain during sex? Periods? Bowel movements ? etc? hetrogenous myometrial texture means it is possible that you have Adenomyosis as your uterus is not its natural form. Do you have heavy bleeding?
Avatar n tn Over 95% of all cysts are benign so it is more than likely not cancerous. There is a lot of information on types of cysts on the health pages (top right). An endometrial cyst is one that is created by endometrial tissue migrating from your uterus to your ovary and then starts bleeding. You should discuss with your doctor whether these cysts or the endometriosis might be affecting your ability to conceive. Good luck.
483733 tn?1326798446 Yes you can increase weight with cysts. I bloated and looked 6 months pregnant and put on about 10 lbs. After surgery this did disappear and surprisingly, I am finding it a bit easier to lose weight now than before my surgery. I have to wonder if those cysts were bothering me for quite some time.
Avatar n tn If you are 40-50, then perimenopause is a possible cause. But, ovarian cysts at any age can change your hormones and cause these types of symptoms. Unfortunately, no two ovarian cysts show themselves in the same way. So, it is hard to say without having tests to rule out all other causes. In general the list of symptoms you describe sound like they could be related to menopause. But, if you are under 45, then that is less likely.
Avatar n tn At month 27 on Tamoxifen, I had an ultrasound that shows a lickening of the uterean wall and 3 complex ovarian cysts. My Dr. is doing a biopsy but my question is why would my periods AND the hot flashes go away completely? I would have thought that if my period stopped my hot flashes would get worse not better. Does this indicate Endometrial cancer? This discussion is related to Tamoxifen and endometriosis.

Avatar f tn It sounds as though you may be experiencing pain from ovarian cysts or endometriosis. I do experience similar pain and I have a history of both cysts and endo. Have you seen a doctor yet? I hope you feel better soon.
Avatar f tn I do have cysts, dermoid cysts, on my ovaries. I have done alot of reading and I am convinced I have endometriosis. I have no health insurance and cannot go to the docs that the ER refers me to. One ER doc said go to the gyn, another tells me to go to a gastroenterologist(sp). I can definately realte to what u r going thru.
Avatar f tn I am 16 years old, I was diagnosed with ovarian cysts after many times to the hospital in may. I've been to my OB several of times. But everytime I go she kinda brushes off my symptoms. I'm having fatigue, low energy, frequent headaches, back pain, hip pain, and of course low abdominal pain. I'm also in constant pain, at times it gets worse.
