Avatar f tn Unfortunately, both benign and malignant masses can cause the same symptoms. It does sound like you may have an ovarian cyst. Most ovarian cysts turn out to be benign. It is always very important to investigate new and bothersome symptoms. That way you have the best odds of catching a malignancy early and of avoiding complications from benign conditions. Your pap smear and inflamed cervix do not likely have anything to do with ovarian cancer. Pap smears detect cervical cancer.
Avatar f tn Many of the symptoms you describe sound like ovarian cysts but unfortunately, ovarian cancer tumors also cause the same symtoms. You need to get a transvaginal ultrasound to rule out an ovarian mass. Odd are with you that you DON'T have ovarian cancer. I can say, I was floored to even know that was a possibility in my dx. I never suspected such a thing. Just tell your doctor you are having pain and the symptoms you listed. Insist on a transvaginal ultrasound.

Avatar f tn suggested you do ? Ovarian Cysts and ovarian cancer can cause many similar symptoms. There is absolutely no way to tell for certain unless and until surgery is performed and the path results come back. Having said that, cysts are very very common and 95% benign. The best course of action is to speak with your physician to see what his recommended course of action is. They may possibly suggest removal, but sometimes, they prefer to wait awhile to see if they resolve themselves.
1649757 tn?1301502977 I have been having all the symptoms of ovarian cancer, starting with the swollen stomach a few months ago and now I am having the urine thing, stomach pain at night and back ache on and off, amongst other things. My doctor took blood tests and the results were clear, ( for what, I dont know). She put an order through for an ultra sound scan, but I have just found out I am going to have at least a 6 week wait!
Avatar f tn What happened with your cysts?
Avatar n tn Hi, I have a couple of questions about ovarian cyst symptoms. Do ovarian cysts cause mid cycle spotting and lower back pain? And if so how common are these symptoms?

256161 tn?1196879046 I know lyme causes all kinds of different cysts. I'm not sure about the ovarian cysts though as they are quite common in women in general. Flagyl is a cyst buster so if you have lyme you may feel the herx reaction.
Avatar f tn I was recently diagnosed with 2 ovarian cysts. One measuring 2.9cm and the other one just starting to grow beside it. My doctor wants to wait and see... My next appointment is not until august. I get random bouts of nausea throughout the day and need help looking for a way to remedy that. I have pills the doctor has given me for the dizziness I experience. Does anyone know of any herbal remedies or vitamins that could help and I could use for my nausea.
Avatar n tn I hear that ovarian cysts have the same symptoms as pregnancy. Anyone have experience with them and can tell the difference?
Avatar m tn Last week I came to check if all tissues had passed and it was discovered by my doctor that I have a small septated cyst cyst and few functional cysts on my right ovary ( 3 cm ) my CA 125 came back elevated to 50.5. I already got a referl to see ob/oncologist and hopefully I can get some answers . Meanwhile does elevated CA 125 means possibility of cancer. I have some problems with my BM but I also get that with anxiety . I am so scared !!!!!!!
Avatar n tn I went to my primary who thought it was appendicitis on examination even though I mentioned a history of ovarian cysts in my mother, and my aunt died of cancer. The doctor sent me to the emergency room. I underwent a CT scan (which was "normal") and an ultrasound. (I never got the reports.) The ultrasound tech said that it was difficult to "see anything." She said that there was so much contrast from the CT that she could not see my ovaries.
Avatar f tn My doctor told me i had sciatica in my left leg, and that it would go after 3 or 4 weeks on its own, but it hasnt, and im starting to think my symptoms are maybe that of a cyst/cysts on my ovary. I had the Depo-Provera contraception injection in january, and since that, my symptoms have become alot worse, and ive suffered with persistent bloating and weight gain. But im still unsure as this could be water retention due to the injection.
Avatar m tn As the other poster said, larger ovarian cysts can cause urinary urgency. So can large uterine fibroids. Most cysts go away on their own within 2 or 3 cycles so I would not worry much unless your symptoms worsen especially if you start having pain which could be a sign of the cyst rupturing, leaking, or twisting the ovary. Since most cysts resolve on there own, there should not be any impact on fertility.
Avatar f tn before your lap procedure did he do ultrasounds and find anything? Your symptoms sound like classic ovarian cyst symptoms. seems like it would have been typical to do ultrasounds prior to cutting?
Avatar n tn What is the difference between ovarian cysts and ovarian cancer. I haven't had a period for 3 months now and I have a sharp pain in my lower right side, as well as back pain, especially in the mornings. once in a while i am off balance when walking. i am bloated, and a lot of times i don't have an appetite.
Avatar n tn Although it’s not known for sure whether benign ovarian cysts or polycystic ovaries develop into ovarian cancer, the vast majority of ovarian cysts appear to be unrelated. Women who have polycystic ovaries or ovarian cancer seldom have obvious symptoms early on. However, in both disorders, symptoms are noticed as the condition progresses. Because the ovaries are affected on both disorders, the some of the symptoms can be similar.
1570931 tn?1315840395 And ive been having an almost constant body ach for two days along with a bad back pain,(in my upper back and its normally in my lower back) took a hpt today and it was BFN Not sure what to think though, i dont normally get sharp pains like this so part of me is worried my cysts came back, (I used to get hormonal ovarian cysts when i was younger)
Avatar f tn The ovarian cysts may be messing up your hormones terribly which could trigger the migraines. How is your blood pressure? But if you ever get the "worst migraine you ever had" it is advisible to seek medical attention immediately and be monitored. Classic migraines are usually associated with nausea and sensitivity to light. My large cyst has been causing alot of low back pain which radiates into my thighs and groin which I have been told can be pinched nerves.
Avatar f tn I would say that you do have symptoms of an ovarian cyst, but those are also symptoms of other problems as well. I will be anxious to find out what the ultrasound says. I am sorry that you are feeling so badly!! I hope you get some relief soon.
Avatar f tn Functional cysts are very common in women that are still menstruating. The pain could be the cysts popping. They will also produce neausea, etc......if you hurt that bad, go to the Emergency , they will most likely do a CT Scan. Don't just for the lap, get all the tests done first.
