Avatar n tn Hi, I have a couple of questions about ovarian cyst symptoms. Do ovarian cysts cause mid cycle spotting and lower back pain? And if so how common are these symptoms?
Avatar n tn Over 95% of all cysts are benign so it is more than likely not cancerous. There is a lot of information on types of cysts on the health pages (top right). An endometrial cyst is one that is created by endometrial tissue migrating from your uterus to your ovary and then starts bleeding. You should discuss with your doctor whether these cysts or the endometriosis might be affecting your ability to conceive. Good luck.
Avatar f tn Up on the right hand side of this page is the Health Pages where you can look up the information on cysts. I hope that helps. Let us know!
Avatar f tn suggested you do ? Ovarian Cysts and ovarian cancer can cause many similar symptoms. There is absolutely no way to tell for certain unless and until surgery is performed and the path results come back. Having said that, cysts are very very common and 95% benign. The best course of action is to speak with your physician to see what his recommended course of action is. They may possibly suggest removal, but sometimes, they prefer to wait awhile to see if they resolve themselves.
Avatar f tn The odds are very much in your favor because most ovarian cysts are benign (non-cancerous). Functional / simple cysts resolve on their own, typically in 2 to 3 cycles. And some complex cysts do too. Of course with this one being 8cm and "not a simple cyst" that probably won't happen. The characteristics that are more concerning for malignancy are multiple and/or thick septations and irregular borders.
600910 tn?1219728369 Hi! Just a little info about me. I'm 25, and a mother of two. I always been really healthy, never had any medical problems. Until last year, I woke up from sleeping with the worst abdominal pain that I could have ever imagined. I would shake and have chills, and sometimes almost faint. I get these episodes sometimed once a week or once a month. They can last 30 minutes up to 10 hours. They come within second and I never know when they will come.
Avatar f tn Hello, Your abdominal symptoms of constipation and rectal bleeding are related to each other but are unrelated to ovarian cysts. A complex ovarian cyst is less common than simple ovarian cyst. At such a young age it can eb dermoid cyst which is a type of complex ovarian cyst and is the most common type and develops during the childbearing age. Complex ovarian cysts are generally benign. The risk of malignancy is generally higher among postmenopausal women.

Avatar f tn Did your doctor not follow up on this ultrasound? The odds are good you don't have it but you should have another transvaginal ultrasound to know your current status. The symptoms of ovarian cancer and cysts are very similar. In many cases they can't be sure until a cyst is removed and biopsied. Please don't ignore this.
Avatar n tn A ct scan is sometimes carried out if ovarian cancer is suspected and you are having symptoms . A diagnosis of ovarian cancer can only for definate be made after pathology review with samples from the tissue. Are you having symptoms ? . A bit more info if possible would be helpful thanks.
Avatar n tn Hi, It's very possible that this isn't necessarily a "functional" cyst. It could be just a simple cyst or some other type. I'm post menopausal --- way post menopausal and I had a cyst last January. Check out the top right of this page where it says "Health Pages" . There is a lot of information on cysts and remember that 95% of cysts are benign, as mine was. They may want to monitor it every 3 months or so to check for any changes.. but try not to worry .
Avatar n tn Someone I know recently has been diagnosed with ovarian cysts and is experiencing heavy night sweats. She is only 33 years old and is wondering how to relieve her symptoms.
551683 tn?1220656108 The symptoms you are describing are very much in line with ovarian cysts. Do you know what size or type of cysts you have? Surgery for cysts depends on size, type and whether you are in pain. In many cases if surgery is required it can be done laporascopically. Don't ignore the cysts. You really should have a gyn dealing with them. Take a look at the health pages attached to the ovarian cyst forum. There is some good information on types of cysts that you might be helpful.
Avatar n tn That really is a good sized cyst.(is that mm or cm?) Have you been having other symptoms? Some ovarian cysts can grow quite large... I'm sure some of the ladies will post that have had some large ones. Having a cyst does not indicate cancer -even large ones. What has your Dr. advised? I would imagine they would be thinking of surgical removal.. There is a link at the top right of this page "Health Pages". Try to check this out. . good information on cysts .
Avatar n tn If you scoll down to the right side of this page you will see Related Communities (underneath Community Members) and the Ovarian Cyst link is there. Those women are very experienced with ovarian cysts and I am sure they will be able to answer your questions.
Avatar n tn t know what the large blood vessels means. When do you hear from your doctor on the results? Your symptoms are very indicative of ovarian cysts. There is some good information on the health pages (top right). Please keep us posted.
Avatar f tn A smooth walled cyst with no solid components means it's probably fluid filled. It's size is about the size of a small lemon.Have you had a follow-up with your gyn to go over the test results? Cysts are very normal , especially in pre-menopausal women. Depending on it's type, size, your age, and other factors, your doctor could opt to do a " watchful waiting" over the course of a few menstrual cycles to see if it resolves on it's own.

Avatar f tn I had a CT Scan for these problems and it showed a cystic mass on my ovary so I had to go to my Gyn and had a Pelvic Sonogram. I have read that sometimes Ovarian Cancer can have the same symptoms as these other problems. Is that true? Also, what is your interpertation of the following results from my ultrasound. Status: Post Hysterctomy & Left Oophorectomy (this was done in 2006 for problems with very heavy bleeding and cysts on my left ovary) Right ovary measures 5 by 8.
Avatar f tn I have ovarian remnants on both sides. Also, the right side has developed ovarian cysts which is causing a great deal of pain and abdominal bloating. My concern is that none of my doctors have spoken with me about ovarian cancer. Is this normal that they are not worried? I was diagnosed with cervical cancer three years ago and had a hysterectomy, two years later they had to take my ovaries. I am having a great deal of pain on my right side.
