483733 tn?1326798446 m seeing a lot of new forum members posting the same questions on both the Ovarian Cancer and Ovarian Cysts forums. There is no need to do this. Just post on the Ovarian Cyst forum as you are going through your testing and diagnosis, etc. and then on the Ovarian Cancer forum only if, God forbid, you not one of the 95% benign club. Many of the members on this forum and many on the Ovarian Canacer forum visit both and will ensure your questions will be addressed.
Avatar n tn Cysts in or around the ovaries may be a sign of a number of things, including but not limited to PCOS. I also have cysts around my ovaries and was diagnosed with multicystic ovarian syndrome. My OBGYN is one of the top docs in Chicago and has practiced for 30+ years. So, basically, he's seen it all. Please note, multicystic ovarian syndrome is different than polycystic ovarian syndrome.
Avatar f tn thank you.regards....
Avatar f tn suggested you do ? Ovarian Cysts and ovarian cancer can cause many similar symptoms. There is absolutely no way to tell for certain unless and until surgery is performed and the path results come back. Having said that, cysts are very very common and 95% benign. The best course of action is to speak with your physician to see what his recommended course of action is. They may possibly suggest removal, but sometimes, they prefer to wait awhile to see if they resolve themselves.

483733 tn?1326798446 We know you must be worried at the thought of having an Ovarian Cyst. Ovarian cysts can be pretty scary along with the pain and other symptoms that can often accompany them. This forum is answered by women who also have had cysts. We are not Doctors, so the advice given is based only on what we have experienced. Now that you have been welcomed, and if you're ready to post your question, please start a new thread to ensure your question won't be missed!
Avatar n tn Hi, I have a couple of questions about ovarian cyst symptoms. Do ovarian cysts cause mid cycle spotting and lower back pain? And if so how common are these symptoms?
Avatar f tn Hello.... I see that you have already posted to the Ovarian Cyst forum. I do not know the risk of cancer with your type of cyst. Maybe someone here might know and jump in. My suggestion would be to post your question to Dr. Goodman. The link is down to the right of the page under "Related Expert Forums" Ovarian Cancer. If the page is full try again later. It might take her a few days for her to answer your question.
Avatar f tn Do ovarian cyst symptoms and ovarian cancer symptoms look the same? I ask because I have the following: -gas -bloat/distended stomach -pressure -changes in BM's (constipation and diarrhea) -get full easily after eating -tired/fatigues -heartburn/indigestion -changes in menstruation Thank you.
Avatar n tn m so sorry you are going through this, and especially after such a traumatic time in your life. The symptoms for ovarian cancer and ovarian cysts are quite similar and in most cases they can't be sure until they remove and biopsy the cyst. Keep reminding yourself that over 95% are benign. Have they run a CA-125 test? This can give them a little bit of information but isn't all that accurate, especially in pre-menopausal women. Do keep us posted on your progress.
256161 tn?1196879046 I know lyme causes all kinds of different cysts. I'm not sure about the ovarian cysts though as they are quite common in women in general. Flagyl is a cyst buster so if you have lyme you may feel the herx reaction.
Avatar n tn Nope ovarian cysts don't cause back pain. I had ovarian cysts and most of my pain was where the ovaries were.
Avatar f tn Have I seen a doctor, had a CT scan, a pelvic, anything that has come out and said, you may have OVARIAN CANCER or did I Google my symptoms and ovarian cancer just happened to come up as one of the hundreds of things it could be.
Avatar m tn Do complex cysts go away without any type of treatment? Do complex cysts put you at higher risk for ovarian cancer in the future? What causes a complex cyst and how "normal" is it for women to get complex cysts? Also, are dermoids and chocolate cysts what are considered complex ovarian cysts? Are there others? I want to do everything to get it analyzed and removed.... am I being too anxious? Thank you for responding.
178345 tn?1242536246 The new community is very simple. There are a lot of members on this site with ovarian cysts, that do not have ovarian cancer. When we find a group of members with a condition, we give them a community so that others with the same condition can find them and they have a dedicated place to discuss the condition. If you look around our site, we've been doing these break-out forums for years. MS was broken out of Neurology. Heart Rhythm was broken out of Heart Disease.
Avatar f tn hi there!!!I I NEED some answer...I just been operated from ovarian cysts(left side) and it's been two months. I'm planning to start a family now that I'm turning 30...but I'm afraid that the cyst may come back. Is it possible? Then can I get pregnant easily? Is after 6 month after the operation is okay to conceive a baby?
Avatar f tn Hi , cysts and fibroids can cause a multitude of symptoms, I have had both , yes some of the symptoms you describe could certainly be from the fibroid and cyst . Unfortunately though there is no 100% guarantee that all is benign until biopsies are taken and looked at in the path lab ,95% of cysts are benign and only 1 in a thousand fibroids are anything to worry about and many women develop them in their thirties so they are very common. Try not to worry (I know easier said than done) .
Avatar n tn I hear that ovarian cysts have the same symptoms as pregnancy. Anyone have experience with them and can tell the difference?
Avatar n tn I went to my primary who thought it was appendicitis on examination even though I mentioned a history of ovarian cysts in my mother, and my aunt died of cancer. The doctor sent me to the emergency room. I underwent a CT scan (which was "normal") and an ultrasound. (I never got the reports.) The ultrasound tech said that it was difficult to "see anything." She said that there was so much contrast from the CT that she could not see my ovaries.
Avatar f tn My doctor told me i had sciatica in my left leg, and that it would go after 3 or 4 weeks on its own, but it hasnt, and im starting to think my symptoms are maybe that of a cyst/cysts on my ovary. I had the Depo-Provera contraception injection in january, and since that, my symptoms have become alot worse, and ive suffered with persistent bloating and weight gain. But im still unsure as this could be water retention due to the injection.
