906877 tn?1335122417 I am due to have cysts removed on tues next week, i read alot of people on here talk about IBS type symptoms being linked with this, is this right?? Can ovarian cysts cause stomach aches etc because if they do then it would explain alot!!!!!! Many thanks, Claire.
643867 tn?1225298753 It's possible you do have ovarian cysts (your symptoms are typical) but generally the distention and bloating persists unless your cyst has burst. If it is still there you should arrange for an ultrasound. Your symptoms can be many other things as well. My husband is suffering from abdominal distention, pain and digestive issues and thought he had it solved going on a gluten free diet but it keeps coming back.
Avatar n tn For the past 2 years I have had digestive problems- the usual heartburn, diarrhea, abdominal pains, bloating, gas. I was diagnosed with Acid Reflux Disease after visiting my gastroenterologist and having an endoscopy done. Two years later, the problems have persisted and gotten worse, this time with pain in my upper right side and upper back area(gallbladder area). I was diagnosed with having gallstones and had my gallbladder removed a week ago.
Avatar f tn I think it would be wise to see your gynecologist and ask for a transvaginal ultrasound to rule out ovarian cysts. They can cause the symptoms you describe. He/she may be able to prescribe some medication that will help regulate your hormones or shrink the cysts. Also, have you had your blood sugar checked? You should ask your doctor about the HgA1c blood test rather than just a fasting glucose.
Avatar f tn suggested you do ? Ovarian Cysts and ovarian cancer can cause many similar symptoms. There is absolutely no way to tell for certain unless and until surgery is performed and the path results come back. Having said that, cysts are very very common and 95% benign. The best course of action is to speak with your physician to see what his recommended course of action is. They may possibly suggest removal, but sometimes, they prefer to wait awhile to see if they resolve themselves.
Avatar n tn t jump to any conclusions . It might be that you have Ovarian Cysts which are very common in younger women. Most of the time they will just go away on their own. At the top right of this page, there is a "Health Pages" section. There is a lot of information on ovarian cysts. A Transvaginal Ultrasound will show anything that may be wrong, but I truly doubt there is anything to worry about.
Avatar f tn My question is not only have I had a constant volcanic stomach but I feel so irritated. Can ovarian cysts make you have major mood swings? I feel sorry for my kids at times because I am so grouchy feeling and I normally am not like that. I feel like I'm having constant pms, I'm getting whip lash from my own mood swings. Is this normal or am I going insane?
Avatar n tn Hi, I have a couple of questions about ovarian cyst symptoms. Do ovarian cysts cause mid cycle spotting and lower back pain? And if so how common are these symptoms?
Avatar f tn Do ovarian cyst symptoms and ovarian cancer symptoms look the same? I ask because I have the following: -gas -bloat/distended stomach -pressure -changes in BM's (constipation and diarrhea) -get full easily after eating -tired/fatigues -heartburn/indigestion -changes in menstruation Thank you.
1425128 tn?1282756875 so all my life i have had problems with stomach pain and digestive pain, i thought i was lactose intolerant so i stoped eating and drinking lactose, but it did not help, the doctors think it is my ovarian cysts that is causing the pain but it is much higher just below my belly button, on my left side, it is extremely painful, also my back on my left side is very tender. i have had cat scans and ultra sounds but they just see my cysts, i had a colonoscapy a few yrs ago and that was normal.
Avatar n tn Women can get from time to time ovarian cysts. Usually they are simple cysts and not dangerous. I have had one myself. And they pass on their own. While you have them, you can have irregular bleeding, pain, hormonal changes. Then when they pass, it is painful. You often also have heavy bleeding. It is like a super magnified bad period with cramps and bleeding. Then you pretty much go back to normal after. I had one 15 years ago and do not think I've had any others since.
256161 tn?1196879046 I know lyme causes all kinds of different cysts. I'm not sure about the ovarian cysts though as they are quite common in women in general. Flagyl is a cyst buster so if you have lyme you may feel the herx reaction.
Avatar f tn I've had all the symptoms of ovarian cancer. End of April I had blood in my urine followed my back pain, flank pain, frequent urination & pelvic pain. No UTI. I eventually became so distended that I could not eat. My period was ten days late. I felt my pelvic floor shift down and family heaviness down there. When my cycle did start it was extremely painful. My normal is always on time and no pain. I had an ultrasound done four days later and ovaries and kidneys are normal.
Avatar f tn There are 4 right ovarian cyst of which the largest measures 1.3 cm in diameter. a 1 cm cystic lesion contains internal echoes due to hemorrhagic component or solid lesion. There are two adjacent right paraovarian cystic lesions which are most consistent with paraovarian cyst. The left ovary has a complex ovarian mass with solid component. This measures 2.1 x 1.9 x 1.6 cm. There are what appear to be small left paraovarian cysts. Fluid is present within this left mass.
Avatar f tn Have you had any ovarian cysts or other issues in the past? I frequently get sharp pains lower abdomen. Likely they are result of the digestive system slowing for increased absorption or things stretching around to make room for baby. I have endometriosis and still have some adhesions that can hurt like heck as the baby starts to grow. However, your doctor should include your ovaries in your ultrasound just to make sure everything is in the right place.
Avatar f tn Being that you are 50, it is not unusual that you missed some periods. That is very typical in the perimenopause time frame. Also, many women complain of digestive symptoms including bloating likely due to the hormonal changes (although gluten can cause that too in some people). And Hashimoto's may or may not be a contributing factor to both the bloating and menstrual cycle changes. Let us know what you find out from the doctor.
Avatar f tn This type of cramping is too early as pregnancy symptoms. If you feel pinching sensations in lower abdomen, on the right or left side, that could be associated with ovulation. But even that lasts 1-2 days. The length of your cramps may be associated with conditions, like fibroids or ovarian cysts. If you're having other digestive issues, it could be something unrelated like IBS.
Avatar f tn I went to the doctor for a check up she sent ne to do a pelvic ultrasound today i got back the result it says i have 1.1 x 1.5 cm cyst in my upper vagina and a 1.3 cm simple right ovarian cyst and no free fluid in the cul-de-sac. Please explain to me what this means cause i'm very very worried, what may be causing the excessive gas i am very scared.
Avatar f tn At first, I was very concerned with OC because I had abdominal/digestive symptoms as well as pelvic pain/symptoms. After the lapro and almost 19 months later with no evidence of anything, I think the slight elevation is just 'normal' for me. My doctor wanted to see if there was any trend to reassure me. I think I have to spend my time now finding out what is going on, as I've spent plenty of time already looking for OC that obviously isn't my problem.
Avatar n tn I hear that ovarian cysts have the same symptoms as pregnancy. Anyone have experience with them and can tell the difference?
Avatar n tn How, exactly, does ovarian cancer cause bloating (intestinal distention) and indigestion? I've read that these can be symptoms, but I'm not sure how ovarian cancer can cause them. Can you explain this for me? Thanks!
Avatar n tn I went to my primary who thought it was appendicitis on examination even though I mentioned a history of ovarian cysts in my mother, and my aunt died of cancer. The doctor sent me to the emergency room. I underwent a CT scan (which was "normal") and an ultrasound. (I never got the reports.) The ultrasound tech said that it was difficult to "see anything." She said that there was so much contrast from the CT that she could not see my ovaries.
