Avatar f tn Before I had surgery I had a lot of pain in my upper abdomen and under the ribs. I went to a massage therapist who was trained in dealing with scar tissue. She worked on that area and after two treatments I was amazed at the reduction of pain and the swelling in that area went down. It never came back to that area. It's something that might be worth a try for you. Good luck.
Avatar f tn Yes, bloating and intense pain do belong to the symptoms of ovarian cysts. Try to drink an alchemilla herbal infusion 2x a day, you should get relief in few days! Also keep yourself warm, hot water bottle maybe. Good luck.
7726825 tn?1393689651 I would try to get an appt with a gyno, if it's cysts they'll know how to treat it. I had my gal bladder removed because it was really bad and I'd have pain up near my ribs in the front under my breast and would vomit uncontrollably during a gal stone attack, to the point I'd end up in the ER from dehydration. This went on for years until they finally found out what it was. High white cell count was one way they finally found mine.
Avatar m tn Loss of appetite, weight loss, nausea, severe pain in back and under ribs and stomach area, excess gas I kept going to my GP and he brushed me off basically telling me I was fine. I kept enduring the pain. I demanded he give me back xrays and ct scan. They both were normal so they say. Iwent to the ER last week and they told me I had a bleeding cyst. I followed up with a gyno the next day and they did internal ultrasound and found 2 hemorrihatic cyst one on each ovary.
Avatar n tn I went to my OB/GYN and planned surgery for this month thinking that the pain (on my left hand side, right under my ribs) and by my ovaries, too could be the cysts but yesterday i hit bottom. I woke up and I felt a throbbing pain under my ribs. I ran to pee and it took me 45 minutes to poop scary black tarry stools. I have had a high fever on and off and all that helps me is hot fluids. They provide some temporary relief from the pain. I called my primary care dr who made an appt for Monday.

Avatar m tn at least they are giving you lots of tests! ovarian cysts can cause alot of pain, what side is it on?
Avatar f tn I am new member but have been reading previous posts and am so glad to hear from others that understand what it is like to live with ruptured ovarian cysts! In the past twelve months, I have had five ruptured ovarian cysts (always on my left side) and had all the symptoms discussed by others. I had a cyst rupture a week ago today and it is the worst one I have ever had. The pain has been much worse than previous ruptured cysts and has lasted longer. Usually, my peak pain lasts a few days.
Avatar f tn I get functional ovarian cysts. The kind that form during ovulation. Then rupture. Sometimes i get pain that goes all the way up to my ribs, and in my lower back. When mine rupture they disspell fluid into my abdomin. And the fluid irritates my insides. Call your doctor and make a appointment to be safe. If the pain gets worse or you develope a fever, go straight to the ER, cause it could be something else. Motrin helps with the pain.
Avatar f tn Hi I dont want to sound like im a hypercondriac but the abdomial pain that women experince with ovarian cancer is it lower or upper pain. I have upper stomach pain for over a yr now. It comes and goes its really high like right under the v part the ribs and top of stomach. I had a scope down the throat and and stomach they said there is redness and iritation there and had colonosopy also both done in june.
Avatar f tn the pain OMG the pain lower back both sides of my abdomen pain under my ribs...gastroinstinal problems...hurt when I walk...I have to use a body pillow....fatigue Basically I just cant function sometimes I cant eat. I cant work, I cant go to school. Suspect its endometriosis but ovarian cancer is also a suspect with my obgyn. Im scared, he is saying he might have to remove my ovaries...if the endo? has overgrown everything he will do a hysterectomy with my consent...
136986 tn?1232399830 When they grow larger, the pain is up higher, under my ribs. When one bursts, the pain starts way deep inside my abdomen (burning-like), and radiates up to my back. Other than the million hundred cysts I get, my cycle is ok. Its kind of short, about 19 days. And when I get my period, its BAD!! I'm usually hunched over, and sometimes miss school because cramps are that bad. Last period I took 2000mg of Tylenol for it to go away. It also KILLS when I have a bowel movement during my period.
Avatar f tn Why in the world would a ovarian cyst cause pain under your rib cage. It makes no sense to me it is no where near it.
Avatar n tn Ovarian cysts can cause pain in many places. I have a 8cm cyst and it causes pain in my calf as it is resting on my sciatica nerve. I am anxious to see what you find out at your appointment. You have found a wonderful place to seek answers and awesome women here who know what you are going through. Praying for you. Keep us posted!
Avatar f tn I have a pain in my left side, below my ribs. It seems to be focused at different areas all the time. It will be around where my pelvic bone is, or it will be just below the ribs. Sometimes even around my back, tho less often there. It feels like a stabbing pain. And it comes & goes. Is this related to my bowels? My ovaries (I'm past menopause), something else? I had 2 C-sections (which were done badly) & have a scar stretching from one side to the other.
Avatar n tn Can it be connected to the fact I have a chocolate cyst on my right ovary? I have been having right side pain too. My ribs sometimes are sensitive to touch. I am scheduled for a lap in January. I was just wondering if anyone else has had these symptoms.
Avatar f tn I have ovarian cysts and I didn't feel this kind of pain with pregnancy. You should feel much pain with pregnancy, especially at the beginning.
Avatar f tn Mostly pressure all over, including up under my ribs, and generalized pain/ache with ocassional stabbing throughout, even down my leg and in my back. The ultrasound was originally to see about uterine fibroids, because of bleeding issues the past few months. I also have a few small fibroids. All I'm doing is taking Advil as necessary. I was at a new doctor today (change of insurance...
1408770 tn?1283213203 I'm having some of the same sign that she was having I'm always in pain but I have an ovarian cysts on my right side but I went to the hospital and did a blood test and it came back negative they did an altar sound and it showed another cyst but I don't have any pain from on my left side
Avatar f tn t had alot of symptoms with it -- no sharp pains but sometimes I have dull aches -- sometimes lower abdomen but sometimes they feel like they are right under my ribs. Then today, my right side was feeling like this but the cyst is on my left so that's a lilttle confusing. Anyway, I think that I will try to get an appt with a gyn/onc and see what they say.
Avatar n tn i found out about 2 weeks ago that i have a hemmhoragic ovarian cyst. i went to urgent care with pain in my left ovary and they sent me for an ultrasound less than a week later. they didn't tell me how big the cyst is but they said that they want me to go back in about 3-4 weeks (from the date i found out which leaves me with about another 1-2 weeks) and get another ultrasound to see if it shrinks any on its own.
Avatar n tn Another possibility to look at would be your appendix, unless you have already gotten it out. Fibroids and ovarian cysts can cause a lot of pain. I would talk to your doctor about your concerns, but it does sound like it is the fibroid and cysts.
Avatar f tn I have been having pain off an on for months, but the last few weeks the pain has stayed and gotten horrible. The pain is on my R side, mostly below my ribs but radiates around to my side and over to my spine. I literally feel like there is some kind of knot or lump in there and feel alot of pressure and pulling pain. I went to the urgent care who sent me to have an MRI to rule out kidney stones.
