1813956 tn?1316715823 In young women these cysts are usually functional cysts and often will resolve spontaneously or with medical management. However if it is a complex cyst or an endometriotic cyst then this will require a laparoscopy and/ or removal. Consult a gynaecologist for an evaluation. Hope this helps.
Avatar n tn Also the dermoid can be diagnosed on ultrasound. Functional ovarian cysts resolve spontaneously many times. For the rest surgical management becomes necessary especially if they are large. Consult your Doctor. Hope this helps.

Avatar n tn I have been suffering from Ovarian Cysts since I was 16 years old and I am 32 now. I had an oophorectomy at age 16 of the right side. I have two beautiful children but cannot get an acceptable quality of life because of these no warning episodes. Do you know of a natural remedy that I can use to eliminate and prevent future cysts from forming? My frequency is about 2 to 3 times a year.
Avatar f tn Mostly they are symptomless But Ovarian cysts can, however, cause problems if they twist, bleed, or rupture. Most ovarian cysts will go away on their own. One of the most effective treatments for ovarian cysts is use of contraceptive pills or progesterone pills. It can also be treated surgically and this procedure is known as drilling. Other modes of treatment are laparoscopic surgery, laparotomy or surgery for complicated ovarian cysts.

Avatar f tn Fluid-filled ovarian cysts can get really big, and when they do they hurt. There are a lot of other kinds of cysts that affect the ovaries (if you really want to amuse yourself, look up teratomas and if you really want to freak yourself out, look up chocolate cysts) but if a doc said it was fluid filled and would resolve, then all she has to deal with is pain management.

Avatar n tn Hi ladies! So I used to be someone who couldn't live without ibuprofen, advil and midol during "that time of the month". My cramps are unbearable I get tired and fatigued and my flow is super light and over quickly or it lasts up to two weeks and is heavy the entire time. Problem is, I was recently diagnosed with von willebrands disease. Which is basically a bleeding disorder and you're not allowed to take anything but Tylenol for pai because everything is a blood thinner.
Avatar f tn It is hard financially to see a doc on a reglar basis, any tips for pain management? I take Ibuprofen constantly. When the pain is intense I go to the ER. So every once in a while I get relief from pain meds prescribed by the ER, but that is not often!

Avatar f tn I am going in for my hundredth (LOL) U/S tomorrow, I have had this pain before with no signs of cysts as well as very small cysts. My gyno has mentioned removing my right ovary with a full hystorectomy. I am grasping at straws as to what to do.......... I feel my pain tolerance is normal but the pain I am having in my abdomen with these cysts ranging in sizes, is unbearable most of the time. I am very confused as to what the right decision is and if there is anything else I can do?
Avatar f tn I had the same thing and turns out I had a ovarian cyst. Ask for an ultrasound to confirm if you do have a cyst.
Avatar f tn Well thank you all, and Sherry thanks for the welcome and the info about the forum. I did call my OB today and the nurse told me to use Gas-X for the day and if it didn't work to call back tomorrow. Needless to say Gas-X does not take care of the kind of pain. It doesn't even take care of the gas. LoL.I'm wondering if it has something to do with cysts. But where as I was just pregnant and getting regular ultrasounds I wonder if they would have seen them.
1298207 tn?1331677531 t need any more male hormones. Also if you have a lot of cysts ovarian drilling is a good option I had it done in december of 2009 with phenomenal results. good luck hun i hope that helps.
Avatar n tn There are more than one flavor of ovarian cysts and some are more cause for concern than the usual ones that occur due to what I think of as a misfired egg. I've had plenty of those along with hemorrhagic and chocolate cysts from endometriosis. Those tend to not rupture on their own and surgery usually is only considered after the size has been tracked for a few months and it gets so large that it causes more symptoms or interferes with fertility. Ain't it great to be a woman?!
256161 tn?1196879046 I know lyme causes all kinds of different cysts. I'm not sure about the ovarian cysts though as they are quite common in women in general. Flagyl is a cyst buster so if you have lyme you may feel the herx reaction.
Avatar n tn Ovarian cysts are extremely common - so do not worry. However, they can also be extremely painful and can grow extremely large. Each month, when a woman ovulates, small follicles form on the outer part of the ovary. These follicles look like little marbles almost through an ultrasound. Now, during your period - these follicles are, keyword here 'supposed' to break free with the lining of your period but for some women, they do not.
Avatar f tn The hormonal IUD can cause noncancerous growths like ovarian cysts in few women. These can cause abdominal pain and spotting in between. The chances of ectopic pregnancy are increased with the use of IUDs.If you are doubtful about pregnancy take up the test. This is merely an advice. A clinical examination may be necessary for appropriate diagnosis and management of your condition. I hope it helps. Best luck and regards!
Avatar f tn If your abdomen continues to hurt and you cannot find out the cause and the pain is intolerable, I suggest that you consult a certified pain management specialist. Sometimes they can do testing to determine what might be causing your pain. Even if they cannot find out the cause, they may be able to take a multi disciplinary approach in helping you to relieve your pain.
Avatar f tn This was my second surgery (first... removal of ovarian cysts and uterine fibroids). My recent surgery was also to repair a small hernia and removing bowel adheshions (scar tissue). Both are believed to be a result of my first surgery - possibly returning to work and daily activity too soon. I have 2 questions? First, what is a recommend timeframe to resume daily activities (I.e.driving,etc.). My tentative return tobwork dare isn't until July. And...
Avatar f tn CT scan interpretations, the terms "nodular hypodensity" how does this term give impression of cyst? Obviously, I am concerned with having malignant tumors. Does anyone know if cysts and/or kidney stones could have that effect on WBC count? Any input would be appreciated.
