Over the past 2-3 weeks, I've had pain where my left ovary is.
I always have normal periods and take Yasmin oral contraceptive regularly (have been for maybe 10 years now). Last year I had a recurring Bartholin's cyst removed. Other than that I am healthy.
I saw my OBGYN, who did an exam and thought I had ovarian cysts.
MOST ovarian cysts, etc are benign, well over 95 percent of them. Ovarian cancer is a pretty rare disease.
The wait until Dec 4th to see a GYN/Oncologist is not that long, and if GYN/Oncologist feels after reviewing your records that it is an emergency for you to be seen, they would get you into the office earlier. The cysts/masses you have are pretty small.
I am going in for my hundredth (LOL) U/S tomorrow, I have had this pain before with no signs of cysts as well as very small cysts. My gyno has mentioned removing my right ovary with a full hystorectomy. I am grasping at straws as to what to do.......... I feel my pain tolerance is normal but the pain I am having in my abdomen with these cysts ranging in sizes, is unbearable most of the time. I am very confused as to what the right decision is and if there is anything else I can do?
I have two ovarian cysts on my left ovary and neither were found during a pelvic exam. The sizes of my cysts are:
Cyst 1: 5.9 x 5.0 x 3.3 cm 50.9 cc
Cyst 2: 2.5 x 2.3 x 2.2 cm 6.6 cc
I think it depends of the size, location and the composition of the cyst for the possibility the doctor to find it during a pelvic exam.

In which case there are simple ways to surgically remove them if they are troublesome. By the way, those cysts are really quite small.

m sorry momma. I have cysts and 2 fibroids. I get more pain from the cysts then fibroids though. I was debating a vbaC but I had.one doctor say I couldn't bc of my fibroid placement and another said it wouldn't be a problem. For the past month now I have been having a crampy feeling in my lower abdomen, and pain on both of my sides that is sometimes in my lower back as well. Sorry you haver been in so much pain. I don't have pain like that so I can't help you there but I do get ovarian cysts but mine hurt right on the ovary. What kind of dr do you go to? I know alot of drs will send you to a pain dr if they can't find out what is wrong with you so it can be treated.
It's hard to say but ovarian cysts are common and there are some that appear solid but are benign (non-cancerous). However, hysterectomy itself can alter hormone levels because it can impair the functioning of the ovaries.

Tingling in the legs might be anxiety or it could be the cyst pressing on a nerve. Cysts can do a variety of things depending on the location.
It's normal to be anxious about surgery. None of us look forward to that. But once they remove the cyst, you'll feel amazingly better and wish they had done it sooner. Keep us posted.
There are more than one flavor of ovarian cysts and some are more cause for concern than the usual ones that occur due to what I think of as a misfired egg. I've had plenty of those along with hemorrhagic and chocolate cysts from endometriosis. Those tend to not rupture on their own and surgery usually is only considered after the size has been tracked for a few months and it gets so large that it causes more symptoms or interferes with fertility. Ain't it great to be a woman?!
