I have had left side pain for almost a year, it is usually low under my rib cage, sometimes radiates around to my back. I have a lot of gas burping and flatulance. i have had a colonoscopy, Endoscopu, and Ultra sound on my whole stomache gall bladder kidneys spleen, all turned out normal... Could this have anything to do with my overies? I had a partial hysterectomy 25 years ago for a fibroid. My Ovaries were left in , they were fine at that time.
I'm sure you meant 4 cm, which really isn't that big. I wouldn't be too worried about losing an ovary over it. I had a 10x11 cm dermoid cyst, and they removed it the night I went to the ER because of the pain. I still have my ovary. So long as it's just one cyst and there are no signs of something like PCOS, I wouldn't worry about finding one on the left side. Cysts are formed when some part of ovulation goes wrong, so they're actually quite common.
I have diverculitis which causes left side pain, and also had ovarians cysts which didnt show up in ultra sound i had a lap which confirmed the cysts.My gastro told me that IBS is for life and doesnt always show up in colonoscopy only if you happen to be suffering symptoms during my lap it also showed alot of adhesions.

All he found was small cysts on my left ovary, which he drained. The pain on my left side started after 10 months after I had my tubes blocked (essure procedure). Are you familiar with the this procedure? I live in a small town and here not everybody is up to date with this procedure. Last time I went for a vaginal ultrasound the technician asked me if I had an IUD.
For about a week now, I have been having constant pelvic pain mostly on my left side by my hip. The pain gets so bad at times that I have trouble moving and it made my left leg sore and hurting. I feel a slight pain on my right side by my hip but I think it is just my imagination. could this pain mean an ovarian cyst?
I try to pull my leg up so I can lay in the fetal position, but the pain on my left side radiates down my leg and i literally have to pull my leg up with my arms. The pain subsides at times then it will act up again for no reason. It is distressing to me and I don't know what else to do as far as stressing to my doctors that I do have this pain and they don't seem to be concerned. What type of test can you reccomment I get to rule out cancer.
It probably varies from individual to individual. My pain was deep in the left side right where the ovary was - it was a burning sensation and once it started it didn't really go away until I had the ovary removed - I was always aware of it. For me it started in late November. In January I had a transvaginal ultrasound that showed multiple cysts. The ovary was removed in late March. I hope this helps.
she didnt seem too worried but my doctor has since called to ask me to come and see her regarding the scans.. I do get a bit of occasional pain on my right hand side from time to time but nothing too serious. Just wondering if anyone else has had cysts during their pregnancy and what it meant for you? I am 21 i go for A vaginal exam tomorrow for the same problem as alisha in march i had leep and just had another bad pap but the tests came back negative for abnormal cells on my cervix. anyways the pain i feel is exactly the same left side durring sex, menstral, tight pants, or pressing on it directly it is a strong sharp stabbing pain, but i also have had spasms run from either side left or right into my back or sides.
I have had several operations for ovarian cysts removal. 12 years ago I had my right ovary removed because the cyst spread over the whole ovary, and 2 years ago it spread to the left ovary, and had that removed. Now the cyst on my left ovary has resurfaced. I am feeling alot of pain, and I have been to the doctor and was told to follow up on my cyst but I never did because of insurance reasons. But I have been having pains on my left side, like a burning and painful sensation.
In October I went to the ER for excruciating pain in my right side. I thought it was my appendix. A CT scan showed I had a 6x3x3 cm cyst in my left ovary so that lead them to believe I had one rupture on my right side to cause the pain.
I'm usually 115lbs, have been for years. I work out regularly and I eat well. I had noticed weight gain over the last few months but I attested it to stress and lack of sleep.
i've been having horrible shooting pains in the left side of my groin.. seems like it could be where my ovary is. Years ago, I had ovarian cysts that ruptured on my right ovary, and have since been on the pill to try to avoid the painful cysts. But for the past 4 months or so, I have very sudden, shooting/stabbing pains on my lower right side. It's always sitting down, and always completely out of the blue. I think I would call your Dr., and tell him or her the same thing you told us. Cysts can and do sometimes last a few months .
Since you have the diagnosis, I'd ask what the suggested treatment plan is ..I have no idea what type of IUD you have, but one that I've seen advertised on TV clearly states that ovarian cysts are a side affect, that will disappear.. otherwise I'm sorry I can't be more helpful..
Last month I went to the er because of the pain in my side. At the er they told me I had an ovarian cyst on my right ovary. and to followup with the gyno. I went to see the gyno and he was very rude told me that my cyst was only 2.3cm and not big enough to cause pain, and that I needed to see a gastro. I saw the gastro and since I lost my mom this year to colon cancer, he ordered a ct scan.
Hi. I'm 47 years old and told after having a transvaginal ultrasound that I have a 1cm nodule on the left side and a 2cm complex cyst on the right side. I'm in a lot of lower abdomen pain. I had a pap but haven't got the results yet. In really worried about ovarian cancer. I don't know of any I my family but they seem small to cause this type of pain. Has anyone else experienced this and came to the other side?
I am 16 years old, I was diagnosed with ovarian cysts after many times to the hospital in may. I've been to my OB several of times. But everytime I go she kinda brushes off my symptoms. I'm having fatigue, low energy, frequent headaches, back pain, hip pain, and of course low abdominal pain. I'm also in constant pain, at times it gets worse.
