Avatar f tn I've been prone to ovarian cysts for 5years and am in near constant pain with them. I've tried different contraceptions, painkillers and keyhole surgery but they always return. My doctor said removing my ovary would be best but im too young- im only 21! My G.P is consulting with his senior for more options but I can't wait. Tests confirm they are abnormal cysts but cannot be operated on almost every month!
222322 tn?1271022838 Okay, so I am not new to Medhelp or to ovarian cysts, but I am new to this community. I originally joined the OVCA community in 2006 as GlendaS. I got a new email address and had to change it to my current name. I was dx with Immature Teratoma & had a RSO in Oct. 2005. I had a cystectomy (benign) at the end of March 2007. I have had other cysts that have dissolved on their own before.
Avatar f tn I find often that women who have chronic pelvic pain are talked into believing that 1-2 cm cysts are causing their problems. These cysts are normal and are almost always present on every woman's ovaries. I hope this is not what your doctors are talking about too! Your problem is a difficult one--chronic pain in the pelvic area, and believe it or not, often results from some sort of major physical/psychological trauma that becomes worse and worse over time.
Avatar f tn Do you know what type or size the cysts are? I'm concerned about them not being able to see the one ovary. Cysts seldom resolve themselves if they haven't after 2 menstrual cycles. Get a 2nd opinion - you shouldn't be grinning and bearing this - I would want them out so you know what you're dealing with and earlier is better.
Avatar f tn So, I meet a really wonderful man and when we had sex it was very painful and the bloating, cramping and pain afterward lasted for days, so I go to my OB and they find an ovarian cyst on each ovary. They said "Let's watch it over the course of a few months and see if it goes away on its own or bursts". I agree that's probably fine to do, but I just can't handle intercourse and it's becoming a real strain on this very new relationship.
Avatar n tn It is possible to get rid of smaller ovarian cysts, like yours, naturally through a naturopath with homeopathic remedies. I did this years ago. Also be mindful of your diet, there is a link between insulin resistance and ovarian cysts. It is best to stay away from processed white flour products like bread and pasta, and the worst culprit is of course sugar.
Avatar f tn Mostly they are symptomless But Ovarian cysts can, however, cause problems if they twist, bleed, or rupture. Most ovarian cysts will go away on their own. One of the most effective treatments for ovarian cysts is use of contraceptive pills or progesterone pills. It can also be treated surgically and this procedure is known as drilling. Other modes of treatment are laparoscopic surgery, laparotomy or surgery for complicated ovarian cysts.
Avatar f tn Sorry for my delayed response. I am not aware of any natural remedies for ovarian cysts although that doesn't mean there aren't any. Since your MRI was scheduled for today, I suppose you are still waiting on the results from your doctor. I am interested to hear what it showed.
Avatar n tn There are more than one flavor of ovarian cysts and some are more cause for concern than the usual ones that occur due to what I think of as a misfired egg. I've had plenty of those along with hemorrhagic and chocolate cysts from endometriosis. Those tend to not rupture on their own and surgery usually is only considered after the size has been tracked for a few months and it gets so large that it causes more symptoms or interferes with fertility. Ain't it great to be a woman?!

1893678 tn?1322008313 Hi guys, I'm new to this website after reading all your supportive posts about having painful ovarian cysts. I'm 17 and I have been having problems with ovarian cysts since I was 16. Last January, I was 16, and I started feeling severe pelvic pain that wrapped around my back. The pain was so severe I laid on the bathroom floor and cried and cried. My mom then took me to my primary doctor who told me it was only a stomach bug and gave me medicine for the vomitting, and 'stomach bug.
Avatar m tn I do not know what kind of cyst it is they never told me just told me the size. The er doctor just put me on pain medicine and sent me home. It is frustrating because it feels like they don't care. I just don't see why when it is so large and hurts this bad they do not just take me in. Hopefully when the nurse calls me back they will do something for me. I'll keep you posted.
Avatar f tn Since ovarian cysts can cause hormonal changes, headaches are possible but are not a typical symptom. If the headaches began after you started taking the prescribed meds, the meds could be the cause. Since the cyst is 4cm, they may be able to just monitor it for now. When they get bigger than about 7cm, there is concern of ovarian torsion.
Avatar f tn Given your history with cysts and endometriosis, I would get a third opinon. With a cyst that large, surgery will be needed.. my gyno didnt even play the waiting game with my 2 surgerys, my cysts were 5cm and 7cm, on in each ovary the first time, I left his office and was sent right to the hospital tht day to be and add on for surgery. Second time around, it was a 3 month wait for surgery, thts it. I would absolutely get things checked out again by another dr.
Avatar f tn Some ovarian cysts can be associated with decreased fertility. However, it depends on the type of ovarian cyst (endometrioma or PCOS). Other cysts like functional cysts, cystadenomas and dermoid cysts are also there. You need to get your daughter examined from a gynecologist as treatment depends on the type of cyst. It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided.
936153 tn?1250280549 Does anyone have any suggestions of home remedies besides the castor oil? I prefer not to do the surgery. Any input would be appreciated!
Avatar f tn I don't know of any home remedies but if it is a cyst, it will likely resolve on its own. Hope you feel better soon!
Avatar f tn Migraines should not be treated with narcotics. Neither should ovarian cysts (unless you just had surgery). That is simply NOT the standard of care. First we need to get you off opiates and then , we can reassess what your medical need truly are together with a neurologist and a gynecologist. Sjogren is typically not a painful condition. You can read my blog about detox options or call my clinic and we will gladly answer all your questions. There is really no easy way of detoxing from home.
Avatar f tn suggested you do ? Ovarian Cysts and ovarian cancer can cause many similar symptoms. There is absolutely no way to tell for certain unless and until surgery is performed and the path results come back. Having said that, cysts are very very common and 95% benign. The best course of action is to speak with your physician to see what his recommended course of action is. They may possibly suggest removal, but sometimes, they prefer to wait awhile to see if they resolve themselves.
Avatar f tn This will give them a good view of your ovary and any cysts that you may have. Please rest assured that ovarian cysts and cancer have most of the same symptoms. 95% of ovarian cysts are non cancerous. It is common to have pain during exercise, sex, and sitting for long periods of time when you have an ovarian cyst. Please keep us updated on how you are doing.
Avatar f tn Every month I have recurring cysts especially on my right ovary. I had a ultrasound. They found that I had a cyst on my right ovary, which was very very small. I also had a very small fibroid above my uterus. Before I went to the doctor I was vomiting and was is so much pain. My doctor finally put me on birth control and wants me to take 800 mg of ibuprofen. I only been taking this meds about a week now. I'm always in pain.
3100626 tn?1341387176 Could this pain be cysts. In so much pain really getting scared my mom died.
Avatar f tn Does anyone know any home remedies for round ligament pain. The dr I saw today says Tylenol doesn't help. I hear warm baths, stretching, heating pads, and girlie so far. Any others?
