Avatar f tn When the follicles are forming small cysts may be present in the normal ovary. These ovarian cysts which start during the normal function of menstrual cycle are called functional cysts which are of two types follicular cyst and corpus luteal cyst. Most of these cysts are harmless and disappear over a period of time. They are usually asymptomatic. In few patients cysts may cause menstrual irregularities, pelvic pain. In such cases medical help should be sought.
Avatar m tn I went off birth control 4 years ago and ever since then I have been developing ovarian cysts. Sometimes i get lower back pain that extends down my buttocks and feels like sciatica . I also get what feels like menstral cramping after intense exercise. During ovulation i also experience uncomfortable cramping. My periods are pretty regular (maybe off by 5 days tops) and they are not heavy, just normal and they last about 4 days.
Panda Thats the only time ive had pain and 2 diff gynos had told me because birth c can actually make u have random contractions of the uterus even if u dont feel them until them as well as some swelling of the uterus. Pain can also be cause by ovarian cysts as well as endometriosis so i would go back or fo to someone else. Good luck n hope this helped.
Avatar f tn I have ovarian cysts that rupture and when i mentioned pain during sex to my gyno, he said i might have endometriosis. I can only have intercourse without pain if i am on the bottom. I also get pink discharge or bleed after. You should post your question in the ovarian cysts forum, and endometriosis forum. Doesnt hurt to cover all bases. But your best bet is to contact your gyno and tell them whats going on, so they can find out why. Hope this helps.
Avatar f tn Any mom's have experiences with ovarian cysts during pregnancy? I haven't been diagnosed with an ultrasound yet but with my signs and symptoms I'm pretty sure I have one. I get stabbing pain in the same spot, near my right ovary a few times each day with certain movements and activities. 5 weeks tomorrow but I had the pain long before I was pregnant. From what I read they're fairly normal and insignificant?
Avatar m tn 5 cm ovarian cyst, not a dermoid though. Dermoid cysts are benign (non-cancerous). But most other types of ovarian cysts are benign too. The average woman's lifetime risk of ovarian cancer is less than 2%. Like you, I was 49 years old. My gynecologist should have just removed the cyst or the one ovary but he removed everything (hysterectomy and oophorectomy). I have been suffering the many after-effects ever since (8 years). I aged 15 years by 4 months post-op.
Avatar f tn For the past month or so when my husband and I have intercourse I have a pain in my lower left side, not the whole time just for a few minutes. I have the pain from time to time with just sitting or standing. Could it be a cyst? I've had cysts before but not during intercourse. Please help!
Avatar f tn This time though, the pain is in my left ovary DURING my period. It gets worse when I urinate and poop (sorry tmi) and it feels like a lot of pressure. Is this a cyst or just normal period problems. Thank you!
Avatar f tn Due to an irregular cycle my doctor sent me along for a dating scan yesterday. During the scan they found two cysts on my right ovary measuring around 5cm... she didnt seem too worried but my doctor has since called to ask me to come and see her regarding the scans.. I do get a bit of occasional pain on my right hand side from time to time but nothing too serious. Just wondering if anyone else has had cysts during their pregnancy and what it meant for you? Thanks!
551683 tn?1220656108 I recently had a vaginal ultrasound because of heavy, irregular periods and pain during periods, in abdomen, in pelvis, and during intercourse. I blamed this pain on fibromyalgia (diagnosed 9 yrs ago). My test results showed 'samll uterine fibroid, some ovary cysts, and thickened endometrium. Gyn. gave me progesterone (sp?). She said this should help with periods.
Avatar n tn I suffer from ovarian cysts. I have talked to several gynos an all of them jave told me that if you suffer from ovarian cysts that they can actually burst and most of the time you wont even know they burst because they burst during your period. I dont have it every month but i do have it every couple months. They isnt much they can do except treat the pain if your have cysts unless they are very big. These can be found by getting a simple an quick ultrasound.
Avatar n tn Ovarian cysts are extremely common - so do not worry. However, they can also be extremely painful and can grow extremely large. Each month, when a woman ovulates, small follicles form on the outer part of the ovary. These follicles look like little marbles almost through an ultrasound. Now, during your period - these follicles are, keyword here 'supposed' to break free with the lining of your period but for some women, they do not.
Avatar n tn Now I have a lot of bleeding during my cycle but it is still regular. I also experience some pain on my right side after intercourse. I realize I am approaching the age where this could be menopause but really don't have any sympoms. Is it possible that the cysts could have gone away?
Avatar n tn Hi there. It is possible the pain could be due to cysts. I've never heard of a connection to coffee though. Do see your gyn and have a transvaginal ultrasound to be sure. Good luck!
Avatar f tn Earlier, I have had irregular menstrual cycles (anywhere from 23 to 30 days), and now since 1 years severe cramps, sudden pain at abdomen, and pain during intercourse. I have been concerned for a while and recently had to insist that my doctor prescribe an ultrasound. Apparently I have a paraovarian cyst (6 to 6.5 cm) near my right ovary.
Avatar f tn when I was 20 I started having some issues. cervical cancer, extreme pain during my menstrual cycles, extreme pain from the cysts I was having. I had surgeries to remove the affected cervical tissues and everything is all good now with that. however I am 3.5 year PP and I've been having issues. LOTS of issues. it started in 2013 nearly a year after my daughter was born. I started getting even worse pain in my abdomen on both sides.
Avatar f tn There are diseases not sexual that cause pain during sex for women. I was diagnosed with Endometriosis and that was why I felt pain during after sex.
Avatar f tn My doctor said that I developed some small ovarian cysts because I breastfed, and consequently didn't ovulate, for so long. This was four months ago, oh yeah we're also trying to conceive again, I am still having symptoms (pain during sex) though I'm pretty sure I had two of them burst, and still not pregnant. Has anyone else had this problem of developing ovarian cysts and have trouble conceiving after breastfeeding?
Avatar f tn Shortly after the C-sec, I began having many problems with pelvic pain and several surgeries to remove ovarian cysts (simple corpus luteal cysts) and scar tissue. The issue of the pevlic instability came into question, for which I saw a physiatrist and underwent prolotherapy and physical therapy. I was still having problems with ovarian cysts and was put on continuous birth control to prevent ovulation. I ended up having 4 surgeries for the cysts and adhesions.
Avatar f tn I have been having abdominal pain and during a CT scan they found an Ovarian cyst on left and calcifications on right ovary. My WBC has been high for months leukocytes and platelets especially and through a LP was found to have viral meningitis. They have tested me for an incredible amount of viruses. I tested positive for TB (skin test and quantiferon) and pernicious anemia.
Avatar f tn Follicle cysts. These cysts form when the sac doesn't break open to release the egg. Then the sac keeps growing. This type of cyst most often goes away in 1 to 3 months. Corpus luteum cysts. These cysts form if the sac doesn't dissolve. Instead, the sac seals off after the egg is released. Then fluid builds up inside. Most of these cysts go away after a few weeks. They can grow to almost 4 inches. They may bleed or twist the ovary and cause pain. They are rarely cancerous.
Avatar n tn Another possibility to look at would be your appendix, unless you have already gotten it out. Fibroids and ovarian cysts can cause a lot of pain. I would talk to your doctor about your concerns, but it does sound like it is the fibroid and cysts.
Avatar f tn HI. How long has the cyst been there? When cysts are discovered the doctors will normally observe it for up to 3 months to see if it disappears itself, which a lot of cysts can. If it is causing severe pain, not resolving, or if it is suspicious in any way the cyst may be removed or drained. Most ovarian cysts are harmless.
564029 tn?1216423219 There are different types of cysts, you can go to the link on the top of this page on the right that says health forum, and there is a list for all types of ovarian cysts. Did your dr. tell you what kind of cyst you have? Have you had a TV/US? During your reproductive years it is very common to get functional ovarian cysts that can disappear after a few menstrual cycles. Could it be your doctor is doing a watchful waiting to see if they go away? How long have you had the cyst?
