Common Questions and Answers about Ovarian cysts pain discharge

ovarian-cysts

Avatar m tn Cysts associated with endometriosis are more likely to lead to some type of bloody discharge or cysts that have blood filled sections. I don't think bleeding occurs in all cases. It could also be menstrual flow that is affected by ovary activity and the effect cysts have on hormone levels.
1697367 tn?1306700619 The discharge could have to do with the cysts. I have had the same scenario while dealing with my two, complex cysts. I have not started BC yet, but my gyno gave me Safyral to start during my next cycle. Everyone is right also- your body takes time to adjust to the pills. A good three months to fully adjust is usually normal. Did you start the pills on the Sunday of your cycle or did you start right away? That could affect your body adjusting also..
Avatar f tn I think you are describing an ovarian cyst "bursting". I had my first ovarian cyst (right ovary) when i was 13 years old. I collapsed in the hallway and my dad had to carry me into the car and was wheeled in the hospital. The doctors told me it was painful until the cyst "bursts". I was throwing up, but I was told that wasn't a normal symptom. Once it "burst" I felt completely fine. I've been on birth control to prevent having ovarian cysts.
Avatar n tn I suffer from ovarian cysts myself but Ive never had any distinct discharge that I could associate with the cysts. I do oftentimes get this thick rubbery clear discharge (kind of like a sticky booger consistency sorry for the tmi) that comes after I ovulate. Either way I hope that helps!
6589573 tn?1382725642 I am 38 years old with a history of ovarian cysts & endometriosis. I haven't had a period in four months now. I have never had irregular periods before even with the endo. Had 2 surgeries to remove adhesions and 1 to remove a softball sized hemmoragic cyst. Doctor says I am not in perimenopause either. I have pain at my left ovary, clear discharge, and blood clots have come out during a bowel movement. Aside from feeling bloated and basically horrible the pain is becoming worse.
Avatar m tn The cysts may explain your occasional back pain. These cysts are small and will likely go away in 2 to 3 cycles. The thick, sticky brown discharge prior to periods sounds like old blood which is normal. It is odd though that you have periods every 10 to 14 days but at least they are very light. But very athletic girls and women can have lighter periods but they tend to be less frequent too.
Avatar f tn The pain, an ovarian cyst can provide. But the bleeding? I've had a lot of ovarian cysts in my day and never once did any of them bleed. Bleeding like a period (or a little less) sounds like a progesterone drop for whatever reason. If the op's natural hormone levels shifted slightly downward, that could have caused a not-enough-progesterone situation that has caused the bleeding.
136986 tn?1232399830 I'm 16 and have been getting ovarian cysts since I was 13. I was rushed to the E.R when they thought I had appendicitis, but it was a cyst. I get numerous cysts each month, most of them burst which cause a great deal of pain. Lately my bowels have been weird. There's a lot of rumbling in my stomach, and I can feel everything moving around. I go a lot, but its normal. I've been on the gassy side too. Yesterday my stomach was killing in my pelvic area, to the right of my left hip.
Avatar f tn t know much about Vagifem side effects but I do know about fibroid tumors and ovarian cysts. Was your pelvic pain on one side or the other? I know that ovarian cysts can cause bloating and back pain. By "TV" do you mean vaginal? What is your GP going to biopsy if they don't know what is in there? I had my uterus removed for several fibroid tumors and am now dealing with ovarian cysts. May have to have one removed in November if it hasn't shrunk or absorbed.
Avatar n tn When I have ovarian cysts, they cause the same pain you described and cause constipation and sometimes affect urination. When my varian cysts burst, i get a pain and pressure that travels down to my rectum and the pain will stay for a few hours and then finally go away slowly.. I’m sadly used to the pain as i get it almost every month now but the first time sent me to the ER.
Avatar f tn Some of them are heavy period, bloated abdomen, discharge, pain during intercourse and i experience a really really painful dysmenorrhea every month which includes nausea, vomiting and even fever. I am really scared. Do you think I have ovarian cancer????
720174 tn?1230507108 Pain from cysts is very normal even though it's constant. Your cysts may be twisting on your ovaries or one of them might have ruptured. If the pain becomes unbearable or you develop a fever, go to the ER and they will do an ultrasound to see how things are. Good luck, hope everything turns out okay.
Avatar f tn I'm not a Dr so I can't answer your question, but I feel your doing what you need to have done by going to see your gyn.
Avatar f tn It could very well be an ovarian cysts, I have had them, and you are describing a pain very similar to how they can feel. If it keeps up, I would see your gynecologist, he/she should do an ultra sound, this will show up any cysts and the size of them.
Avatar f tn I am 27 years old and just recently I was diagnosed of having bilateral ovarian cysts. It was detected when my doctor recommends for a whole abdominal ultrasound. I had sharp pain in the morning and was relieved with fart or poo. I may recur during the day but was persistent in two weeks. My doctor suspected for gastrointestinal problem since I also had gas problems. I was not relieved with the prescribed medicine thats why an ultrasound was done.
Avatar f tn I have ovarian cysts that rupture and when i mentioned pain during sex to my gyno, he said i might have endometriosis. I can only have intercourse without pain if i am on the bottom. I also get pink discharge or bleed after. You should post your question in the ovarian cysts forum, and endometriosis forum. Doesnt hurt to cover all bases. But your best bet is to contact your gyno and tell them whats going on, so they can find out why. Hope this helps.
Avatar f tn Have you hand a transvaginal ultrasound? Ovarian cysts can cause lots of pain for some people and others don't even know they have one. They can come and go with a womans monthly cycle. Sometimes people have cysts that rupture and those can wreak havoc with your system. I think I would start with a gyn appt and request a transvaginal ultrasound.

Avatar f tn I was hospitalized in 2011 after taking a thousand pregnancy tests. Ovarian cysts have almost identical symptoms to an eptopic pregnancy. In less than a month I went from a size 9 to such abdominal swelling it looked like I was due any day and I couldn't button my size 13s! It was the most horrible pain I had been through next to giving birth. Move was a leaking cyst in my right ovary. Either way you should see a doctor.
Avatar f tn About 3 years ago after ultrasound for abdominal pain, I was referred to the Gyn clinic as I had a right ovarian cyst of 3 cm. The doctor there said there was no way my symptoms, to me classic cyst symptoms, could be caused by this small, simple cyst. CA125 done and advised there would be no follow up. The pain continued and I continued trying to find answers. I had kidney and abdominal scans which found nothing.
Avatar n tn At different times in your cycle your cervix will be high or it will come down low. Also, it could be ovarian cysts. I get these a lot!! And when I have sex even though the sex itself doesn't hurt, but when (sorry tmi) he's thrusting inside of me, while he's in as far as he can go will hurt and I can feel the pressure pain around my ovaries. Have you ever been told that you have had ovarian cysts before? They're quite common and they come and go during your cycles.
Avatar f tn Same here still waiting
Avatar f tn The other possibility is of endometriosis or ovarian cysts which should be ruled out from a gynecologist. It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.
Avatar f tn I also have had this issue for months now, very heavy, clear, waterlike discharge. I have ovarian cysts as well and have come to the conclusion that's its the cyst fluid that is leaking. However, it happens to me at all diferent times during the month with no pattern. It comes in very heavy and soaks through my clothes and even through a tampon if I have one on. Very frustrating and unpredictable. I am not on birth control but was for many years.
Avatar f tn Mostly they are symptomless But Ovarian cysts can, however, cause problems if they twist, bleed, or rupture. Most ovarian cysts will go away on their own. One of the most effective treatments for ovarian cysts is use of contraceptive pills or progesterone pills. It can also be treated surgically and this procedure is known as drilling. Other modes of treatment are laparoscopic surgery, laparotomy or surgery for complicated ovarian cysts.
1425128 tn?1282756875 so all my life i have had problems with stomach pain and digestive pain, i thought i was lactose intolerant so i stoped eating and drinking lactose, but it did not help, the doctors think it is my ovarian cysts that is causing the pain but it is much higher just below my belly button, on my left side, it is extremely painful, also my back on my left side is very tender. i have had cat scans and ultra sounds but they just see my cysts, i had a colonoscapy a few yrs ago and that was normal.
Avatar m tn More than 98%t of ovarian cysts are none cancer. Ovarian cysts in women are very common. Most resolve themselves with out surgery. If you can take something like Ibuprofen that can help with inflammation.
Avatar f tn Pain caused by ruptured cysts can linger for awhile. Hopefully, it will abate soon. If not, do you have a gynecologist you can see? You said you have PCOS. How long has it been since you had a period? I wonder if medication to force a bleed may help.
