Avatar f tn How long have you been on the pill? I would just call your gyn and let them know. They may want to do some blood work and check for anemia since you have been bleeding.
Avatar f tn Hello, I've been on birth control since I was 15 (now 23) for ovarian cysts. About a year ago I switched pills from Loestrin 24 fe to Lo Loestrin 24 fe. Within the year I think I've had 2 periods (only lasting a day or so) and a few days of very light spotting. I do know this pill is the lowest dose of hormones you can have with a birth control pill. Is this normal?
Avatar f tn Ive been on the pill for all of my cysts except the one 5 yrs ago. Im currently on a low dose pill. I thought my initial spotting was due to stress, or that i forgot a pill the weekend prior, or poss due to the homeopathic "meds" i was on for a sinus cold. But the familiar ache wouldnt be there if that was the case. I think my last cyst was 5 cm? Theyve all resolved in their own in the past. The pain this time didnt get really bad until it was time for my period.
Avatar f tn ve done some research and it looks like ovarian cysts. Is this possible while on the pill and can I get one on each ovary and have both cause pain?
Avatar f tn What are the symptoms of ovarian cysts and tumors? Often, ovarian cysts don't cause any symptoms. You may not realize you have one until you visit your health care provider for a routine pelvic exam. Ovarian cysts can, however, cause problems if they twist, bleed, or rupture. If you have any of the symptoms below, it's important to have them checked out. That's because they can also be symptoms of ovarian tumors. Ovarian cancer often spreads before it is detected.
Avatar n tn What started initially as a small complex Ovarian Cysts now on scan the Dr. says is getting bigger and has put her on birth control pill. How does one get Ovarian Cysts. Please help.
Avatar f tn I also have bruises on one of my leg. Could this be anemia? And is this the cause of having spotting and little/irregular period?
Avatar m tn More than 98%t of ovarian cysts are none cancer. Ovarian cysts in women are very common. Most resolve themselves with out surgery. If you can take something like Ibuprofen that can help with inflammation.
Avatar f tn I have pcos (policystic ovarian syndrome) which is exactly what it sounds like. Many recurring and different cysts on your ovaries. Yes it is very possible for them to stop your period I always had that problem. Don't be scared though. Of course you could be pregnant but if you have a cyst it could be normal to miss your period. Cysts are fairly normal and most women will have one at some point or another.
Avatar f tn hello everyone, i have been having sex for a couple of months now, and we are always safe and our condom broke two times and we always took the morning after pill. I was never very regular but i havent had my period for about two months, ive taken home prgnancy tests and they were negative, what im really scared about is that i have alot of pain below my stomach , first it was on the left side and now it feels like its on the right, im really very worrid and im really scared of doctors.
Avatar n tn I had a perfect normal pregnancy and recovery but since then like in my7 teens my periods have been VERY infrequent and unexpected. Lately.....the past 6 months I have been spotting with very light blood and then have periods of bleeding very heavy and blood clotty for a few hours then it will stop again. This isn't just once a month though. It's throughout the month. I ALWAYS have to wear a pad cause I could be completly dry one second and then flowing with blood the next.
Avatar f tn Definitely sounds like ovarian cyst pain, I'm amazed you put up with it this long. Hasn't your doctor done *anything,* like put you on the pill to try to shrink it? I'd go see him tomorrow effing morning and say you absolutely need to have this dealt with.
Avatar f tn Hi everyone. I'm very much a 'worrier' so sorry if my questions make your eyes roll :) I'm a 25 year old female with no children who is overweight (5'5, 200lbs). I have a family history of cysts and PCOS but no cancer. When I was about 20, I had a functional ovarian cyst diagnosed via internal ultrasound (not sure how big it was).
Avatar f tn I had ovarion cysts a few months ago and got given tablets to take the first 3days of my period after they ran out my periods started to go normal again and not last any longer then 4 days now iv had my period for over a week it started very light and is now very heavy what is wrong could I have cysts again what should I do??
Avatar f tn t need to be on the pill to help prevent ovarian cysts. Well, I have stopped the pill again, about year after my second surgery. I have been feeling a lot of pain again on my right ovary. I am wondering if I have developed another cyst/follicle. It has only been about two weeks after stopping the pill. I am not sure if it is scar tissue that causes the pain, or maybe the pain is due to the fact that I am ovulating again. Or, like I said, maybe I have another cyst.
Avatar n tn 3 cm i think) so i was put on the pill. 2 months later the cyst leaked and i ended up going ot my Ob the next day. come to find out another cyst had formed on my left ovary. only this cyst is bigger then a golf ball. I was then given the Depo shot to hopefully reduce the size/ get rid of the cyst all together. i am a month and a half into having the shot in my system and i feel horrible. I am often in a lot of pain with constant what feel like period cramps. but worse right where the cyst is.
Avatar f tn I would think the bleeding would indicate a problem in the uterus, cervix or vaginal tissue more than on the ovary. The cramping could definitely be the cyst. How much blood are you talking about? Are you having light spotting or large amounts? If If it is a light amount of blood, you may have dryness that you aren't noticing, or your partner could be hitting your cervix. I know after my oopherectomy, I had dryness that was causing me bleeding.
Avatar n tn My cramps are mild just annoying take a few Advil here and there. Getting my period next week. Calling my dr today, to find out about the pain on the right but cyst on the left. I would like to try an all natural way. The joys of being a women.
Avatar f tn My last regular cycle was on april 1st and I had a light period on april 11th. I have taken 2 blood pregnancy tests; 1 on may 31st and the other on july 3rd. Both came back negative. I have gained around 10 lbs in the past month, my stomach is bloated, breasts are swollen, cravings, ovary pain, frequent urination, irritability, vomiting, frequent migraines............ I have had problems with ovarian cysts before and now only have 1 ovary. What is wrong with me??
Avatar n tn Since then, I have had irregular bleeding that stopped around March (I was nursing at that time). I skipped my period in March, but had very bad cramps during ovulation and at the beginning of my next period. I again skipped a period in May but resumed menstruation in June and July, with pain/bloating during ovulation and at menses. OB ordered a trans vag ultrasound that came back negative. About a month ago, I had a CT scan of my entire pelvis and a cysts plural (spelling?
1872158 tn?1320302628 For medications, the only thing I took was my birth control( YASMIN), but taking it just for the 21 days, and then letting myself have a period wasnt shrinking the cysts. I have to be on the BCP for 3 months consecutively then let myself have a period and that has been enough to shrink the L ovarian cyst. You can try medication routes but sometimes they just are not an option and will not work and surgery is needed to remove the cyst to preserve the ovary and keep it from twisting, etc.
Avatar f tn ld like to add that based on my ultrasound, these cysts are not chocolate cysts.
1200566 tn?1265381052 I just started my period on Tuesday, on Wednesday morning I had to leave work and go home because I was so dizzy and light headed I couldn't keep my head up. My period is a lot heavier than normal and so is the cramping. I was also having hot flashes. I have missed work the rest of the week because I feel dizzy all the time. I was diagnosed with Endometriosis back in 2002 and had one of my ovaries removed.
Avatar f tn It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.
Avatar f tn The pain, an ovarian cyst can provide. But the bleeding? I've had a lot of ovarian cysts in my day and never once did any of them bleed. Bleeding like a period (or a little less) sounds like a progesterone drop for whatever reason. If the op's natural hormone levels shifted slightly downward, that could have caused a not-enough-progesterone situation that has caused the bleeding.
