Common Questions and Answers about Ovarian cysts on the left side

ovarian-cysts

Avatar f tn I'm sure you meant 4 cm, which really isn't that big. I wouldn't be too worried about losing an ovary over it. I had a 10x11 cm dermoid cyst, and they removed it the night I went to the ER because of the pain. I still have my ovary. So long as it's just one cyst and there are no signs of something like PCOS, I wouldn't worry about finding one on the left side. Cysts are formed when some part of ovulation goes wrong, so they're actually quite common.
576095 tn?1217493479 I had two artificial insemination treatment but they also found a cyst on my left side. My question,.if I had a cyst on my left side should they have continued with the treatment? Also my left ovary were grownig onto my gut or something and they had to fix it ( this was with the second operation). Have anyone had a similar situation. I am just really tired of this whole thing...and its a emotion rollacoster!
Avatar f tn i got my period on time then 2 weeks later got it again only it was a darkish brown color and at the time as the second period i got a bad pain on my left side i am not sure if the 2 things are related because my period is done but the pain is still here
367100 tn?1330914725 When I miscarried, they also found an ovarian cyst. Both the ER doctor and my OBYGN said the cyst had nothing to do with the miscarriage and are a normal part of the reproductive cycle. If they doctor says it's nothing to worry about then it must not be too big. If you get any pain though, you shouldn't hesitate to go the ER. Every now and then I get sharp pains on my left side, which I believe is due to the small cysts on my left ovaries.

Avatar f tn The symptoms you are describing are very indicative of ovarian cysts. Do insist on a transvaginal ultrasound. I hope you can get relief soon. I'm assuming by your nickname that you are Canadian? So am I. Where are you from?
Avatar f tn I recently noticed a lump on the left side of my clitoris (sp) it's painful to the touch I know it's not an STD or anything cause I just got tested about a month ago from the doctors and everything came in fine. But it only hurts when I touch it. I read several things about it might being a cyst which I have ovarian cysts already, is there a chance that it's another cyst?
Avatar f tn I had one on my left ovary in the very beginning of my pregnancy, so the doctor knows that I ovulated from the left side. Not sure the size of mine, but I have heard it can cause some issues if it is really large. If it's "normal" size and from ovulation, it will typically just go away on it's own. Congratulations on your pregnancy!
Avatar n tn All he found was small cysts on my left ovary, which he drained. The pain on my left side started after 10 months after I had my tubes blocked (essure procedure). Are you familiar with the this procedure? I live in a small town and here not everybody is up to date with this procedure. Last time I went for a vaginal ultrasound the technician asked me if I had an IUD.

Avatar f tn Im not sexually active so im not pregnant. And I have been getting sharp pains in my left pelvic area and my left side that sometimes travels to my right side. I have a doctor appointment next friday to figure out what is wrong.
Avatar n tn They came back later to tell me that I had an ovarian cyst on my left side and it had burst. That was the pain I felt the night before. I am on Naproxen and 1/2 a pill of Levison every 12 hrs. It seems to be working.
Avatar f tn hi there!!!I I NEED some answer...I just been operated from ovarian cysts(left side) and it's been two months. I'm planning to start a family now that I'm turning 30...but I'm afraid that the cyst may come back. Is it possible? Then can I get pregnant easily? Is after 6 month after the operation is okay to conceive a baby?
Avatar n tn 12 years ago I had my right ovary removed because the cyst spread over the whole ovary, and 2 years ago it spread to the left ovary, and had that removed. Now the cyst on my left ovary has resurfaced. I am feeling alot of pain, and I have been to the doctor and was told to follow up on my cyst but I never did because of insurance reasons. But I have been having pains on my left side, like a burning and painful sensation. What can I do for pain?
178345 tn?1242536246 I had huge complex cysts and endometriosis , my endo turned malignant into ovarian cancer unfortunately , I get backaches and sometimes feel like im going to get my period, I had a total hysterectomy over 3 years ago now , ovarian remnant syndrome is rarer than ovarian cancer , are you sure you haven,t strained your back? once you have done that once you can be plagued by pain.
Avatar f tn This is likely just an ovarian cyst and could be an indication of the Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome cysts returning since it sounds like you are no longer on birth control. Also, after cysts resolve or rupture, they can leave some lingering pain or discomfort for weeks. Hoping you feel better soon!
Avatar m tn I have a 2CM cysts on my left ovary and have a 4CM fibroid on the same side. My physican has suggested surgery, I am not sure if I should do that because for the last year 1/2 he has treated me with the watchful wait. My last ultrasound showed that the cysts had grow, he said it was nothing, should I be concerned? I am not sure what causes cysts on the ovary, I am however taking .045/1.5 prempro daily.
Avatar m tn I have this recurring pain on my left side from the narrowest part of my waist to my low abdomen. In December it was really bad and I went to the ER. They did an ultrasound and said the pain was caused by ovarian cysts. That part wasn't surprising because I've had them before, but it surprised me that the pain could radiate so far up my side. Has anyone else had this?
Avatar n tn How large were your cysts and were they complex (have solid parts)? Most ovarian cancer presents with a large (over 5cm) mass on the ovary that is complex. Most women are at the begining of perimenopause at 40, so it is not uncommon to have some hormonal issues (especially post childbirth). Cysts definitely occur in the presence of hormonal imbalance. Did your doctor plan any follow-up for your cysts? If not, you should call the office and let them know about your symptoms.
Avatar f tn I went to the doctors last week and they sent me in for a ct scan. The report found a tumour within the pouch of douglas on the right side. The tumour measured at 27mm x 24mm. It says that it is a fat containing tumour consistent with a dermoid. The doctor then sent me for an internal ultrasound. The report for this said that.... The uterus is anteverted with a volume of 24cc The endometrical thickness is 5mm Right ovarian volume is 21cc Left ovarian volume is 8.
Avatar f tn For the past month or so when my husband and I have intercourse I have a pain in my lower left side, not the whole time just for a few minutes. I have the pain from time to time with just sitting or standing. Could it be a cyst? I've had cysts before but not during intercourse. Please help!

Avatar f tn t find any specific info on how/if ovarian cysts can hinder the ability to become pregnant. From my own experience, my first pregnancy detected a cyst on my left ovary. My OB said this was the ovary my egg attached too. Later in my pregnancy the cyst disappeared, this is very common. Six months ago I went for my annual pap smear, I also had an ultrasound done because I was TTC and I wanted to see if there were fibroids, scar tissue, etc.
1294845 tn?1296514226 Funny enough I had pain on my left side and turns out the dermoid cyst was on right side.
Avatar n tn 3 cm i think) so i was put on the pill. 2 months later the cyst leaked and i ended up going ot my Ob the next day. come to find out another cyst had formed on my left ovary. only this cyst is bigger then a golf ball. I was then given the Depo shot to hopefully reduce the size/ get rid of the cyst all together. i am a month and a half into having the shot in my system and i feel horrible. I am often in a lot of pain with constant what feel like period cramps. but worse right where the cyst is.
