Avatar f tn I realize that any ovarian remnants could make cysts but what are the odds of that? It just seems strange to me because the pain is in the exact same location as the previous pain although at this time not as severe. Thank you again....you are providing a great service.
Avatar m tn MOST ovarian cysts, etc are benign, well over 95 percent of them. Ovarian cancer is a pretty rare disease. The wait until Dec 4th to see a GYN/Oncologist is not that long, and if GYN/Oncologist feels after reviewing your records that it is an emergency for you to be seen, they would get you into the office earlier. Wait times also vary depending on your location and the number of GYN/Oncologists in the area. The cysts/masses you have are pretty small.
Avatar m tn Ovarian cysts generally come and go and resolve on their own. I know some ovarian cysts do interfere with ovulation. Fibroid also , if they're too big, interfere with embryo implantation. You say you've been trying for over a year....if this is the case and give the cyst and fibroids I would schedule an appt to visit the doctor.
Avatar f tn I have two ovarian cysts on my left ovary and neither were found during a pelvic exam. The sizes of my cysts are: Cyst 1: 5.9 x 5.0 x 3.3 cm 50.9 cc Cyst 2: 2.5 x 2.3 x 2.2 cm 6.6 cc I think it depends of the size, location and the composition of the cyst for the possibility the doctor to find it during a pelvic exam. I was diagnosed with these cysts after an ultrasound after I experience excruitiating pain in my ovarian area.
Avatar n tn They are 95 % benign .. It is my understanding that adnexal simply means the location of the cysts. It has nothing to do with the type of cysts.. And there are a LOT of different kinds of cysts. If you go to the top right of this page, you'll see "Health Pages".. Go there and you will find all sorts of information on cysts. Does she have other symptoms? What they usually like to do is simply monitor this for a few months to determine if they grow or not.
Avatar f tn I am going in for my hundredth (LOL) U/S tomorrow, I have had this pain before with no signs of cysts as well as very small cysts. My gyno has mentioned removing my right ovary with a full hystorectomy. I am grasping at straws as to what to do.......... I feel my pain tolerance is normal but the pain I am having in my abdomen with these cysts ranging in sizes, is unbearable most of the time. I am very confused as to what the right decision is and if there is anything else I can do?
Avatar m tn I saw my OBGYN, who did an exam and thought I had ovarian cysts. However, the ultrasound that was performed afterwards came up normal with the exception of 3 small uterine fibriods that I was told wouldn't cause any pain or contribute to this problem. So, they told me to get an appointment with my internist, which I did. My internist did an exam and ordered a pelvic CT scan with contrast. Today I got the results back that "everything seems normal.
Avatar f tn OK I was diagnosed with ovarian cysts in '08. since then I've been on birth-control to contain the issue and even had a surgery for it. but also I have been getting painful lumps on my underarms, back of the neck, and thigh areas. they hurt to touch, making movement in the areas is very painful, and they are irritating. now everything I've read on cysts said that they are painless.
Avatar f tn By the info that I gave you above, is it likely that it could still be cancer? Years ago my sister had an 11 pound benign ovarian cyst. Are cysts hereditary? I am 45 years old. I have pain on my left side. The pain is more severe when I have to urinate and my bladder is full. It is also more painful when I need to empty my bowels. I used to have severe IBS with loose bowels. Most often now, I am very constipated. Is this normal?
Avatar n tn and it will explain a great deal about ovarian cysts .. The usual course of treatment is to monitor them .. usuall 3-4 mos. to see if they have resolved themselves or grown . In which case there are simple ways to surgically remove them if they are troublesome. By the way, those cysts are really quite small. Try not to worry and check out the "Health Pages" .. (and since you are so recently dx.
Avatar f tn I Have ovarian cycts as well. They Grow on ovaries where fibroids are usually on the uterus or falopian tubes. Fibroids can be more of a nusance. They can grow on inconvenient Spots causing issues. Both can be painful. Ovarian cycsts are follicles in your ovaries that full up with hormones. Estrogen creates fibroids. However a cyst can turn into a fibroid. Im Not sure if I'm explaining this well. I don't have fibroids now but I have in the past.
Avatar n tn Tingling in the legs might be anxiety or it could be the cyst pressing on a nerve. Cysts can do a variety of things depending on the location. It's normal to be anxious about surgery. None of us look forward to that. But once they remove the cyst, you'll feel amazingly better and wish they had done it sooner. Keep us posted.

Avatar f tn It's hard to say but ovarian cysts are common and there are some that appear solid but are benign (non-cancerous). Here is a helpful website about ovarian cysts - http://ovaryresearch.com/ovarian_cysts.htm. Cysts can alter hormone levels which may explain the tender breasts. However, hysterectomy itself can alter hormone levels because it can impair the functioning of the ovaries. Let us know what more you find out. Hoping it's nothing serious.
256161 tn?1196879046 I know lyme causes all kinds of different cysts. I'm not sure about the ovarian cysts though as they are quite common in women in general. Flagyl is a cyst buster so if you have lyme you may feel the herx reaction.

Avatar f tn HI, Even though you may not want any more children, you are too young for a hysterectomy. The bleeding can be stopped with help of haemostatic medicines and with use of hormones like progestins. Also a D&C may sometimes be necessary to stop the bleeding. The ovarian cysts need further evaluation regarding their size and nature. Many of the cysts in young women respond to birth control pills or regress spontaneously. Hence it would be best to consult a gynaecologist for an evaluation.
Avatar n tn Mucinous Ovarian Neoplasms make up 36% of ovarian cysts. 75% are benign. They are made of the same tissue that makes up the intestines 98% of all ovarian cysts are benign.
