Avatar f tn I have had issues so often with repeated ovarian cysts ever since 2011 when I had a hysterectomy. This past Friday was the third time I was in the ER since November 2017 because of the excrusiting pain from it. 498596 tn?1210700259 Some kinds of ovarian cancer can be found on ultrasound before they have spread. My tumor was 9 cm. and had not spread. It was visible on ultrasound. From what I have recently read, though, it appears that most ovarian cancers spread shortly after the original tumor comes into existence. This is one reason why 75-80% of ovarian cancer cases are diagnosed at a late stage. Not very encouraging, I am afraid.
Avatar m tn Cysts in different parts of the body aren't related at all. I've had Ovarian cysts (4 to be exact, and I'm only 22). And if it makes you feel any better, the chances of cysts returning are slim. Or so my doctor told me.
665125 tn?1273023924 A few months ago we had sort of a survey on here and just about all of us that have or have had ovarian cysts, also have thyroid problems. Hypothyroid mostly. Now, granted, this was not scientific at all, but it seems coincidental to me./ I wouldn't worry too much about the cysts. They are quite small and what may happen is that your Gyn. may suggest they be monitored for a few months. After that , they may discuss removal if they don't shrink.

330478 tn?1278284916 For the last 2 years now, I have been dealing with ongoing ovarian cysts that don't seem to go away. I have had 3 surgeries within the last 2 years to remove ovarian cysts as well as a post-op infection in 2005. This past December 2007, I went in for my third surgery involving cysts (i had 1 ovarian cyst and one mass). Within the last 2 years, i have had well over 10 cysts. To be quite honest, at this point.. it's really too hard to even keep track of how many I have had.
Avatar n tn Hi, Yes, the thinking is that by going on the BC pill, it will suppress ovulation. No Ovulation, no cyst. However, I don't know if that only applies to "functional " cysts or all kinds, as some cysts are not dependent on ovulation to begin with. There are lots of ladies that have ovarian cysts (like myself) who no longer ovulate and haven't for years. Also, at 41, many women are still thinking about having kids, so it's really a personal decision..
