Avatar f tn My daughter was diagnosed with ovsrisn cysts back in May. We were in the ER 3 days in a row - thinking it was her appendix, and then finding out she had 2 cysts and fluid in her abdomen that meant one had ruptured. She had not started her periods yet either. One month later, she had her first period. Every month since then she has had pain. Every other month she has SEVERE pain and misses school. She can only take ibuprophin and tylenol because of her age.
Avatar f tn Having abnormal bleeding and had a pelvic ultrasound, I got the results back and the Dr. said I have an ovarian cyst. I follow up in 6 weeks to re-check. Anyone out there have this problem?
Avatar f tn I had that happen, it ended up being ovarian cysts, they pop on their own, but I would tell your gaurdian and contact your OBGYN just to make sure,

Avatar f tn Lots of people in your family with reproductive cancer early both male and female would call for BRCA testing. The breast cancer with BRCA is usually triple negative breast cancer. If you are not BRCA positive you have a1.4% of ovarian cancer. 98% of cysts even big ones are benign. I think if you have had 3 transvaginal ultrasounds the cancer would show up by now. It spreads to other organs and the omentum. They can see that on an ultrasound.
Avatar f tn I am a 21 year old female. I was diagnosed with two ovarian cysts that are thought to be cystadenomas back in January of this year. I went into the ER last week because of excruitiating pain and a blood test revealed a high creatinine level. Today I was diagnosed with hydronephrosis and hydroureter via ultrasound with no known obstruction. I have read that hydronephrosis could be a sign of pelvic cancers.
Avatar f tn Hi there, Secondary infertility can be caused by male causes or female causes. Female factors like advanced age, polycystic ovarian syndrome, endometriosis, pelvic inflammatory disease, fibroids, uterine adhesions due to previous surgeries are few common causes of female fertility. Male factors causing infertility are varicocoele, ejaculatory disorders, radiation exposure and advanced age. Ovarian cysts like polycystic ovarian disease can cause infertility.
Avatar f tn On the ovarian cysts forum, there may be more of us dealing with those kinds of things. Do the doctors say if the cysts are complex or functional?
Avatar n tn Ovarian cysts can cause bladder and bowel problems. In my case it was due to the size of the ovarian cyst and the pressure it was placing on other organs. In my daughter's case, the abdominal pain with the ovarian cyst was severe and caused nausea. By the time we discovered that an ovarian cyst was causing the pain, she had become constipated, which added to her irregularity and discomfort. Like MarieMichele, before my ovarian cyst was removed, I had to eat very small amounts.
Avatar n tn TVUS shows up cysts, masses and abnormalities in the female tract most of the time but not always. A ct scan is sometimes carried out if ovarian cancer is suspected and you are having symptoms . A diagnosis of ovarian cancer can only for definate be made after pathology review with samples from the tissue. Are you having symptoms ? . A bit more info if possible would be helpful thanks.
Avatar m tn With 100% certainty there is not a single risk in giving or receiving oral sex as far as PCOS goes! It is simply a hormonal imbalance in a female which may or may not cause ovarian cysts and fertility problems.
Avatar f tn This is my first time on this site, and posting, just found it while searching on cysts. I did not realize I posted in the wrong forum. I do hope my post gets moved as I would love to hear feedback from others. Thanks so much for the info, so appreciated. Thanks also for the guidance to check out other posters and the heat pages...will do that now. thank you.
Avatar f tn Could this be related to ovulation or period cramps? Or perhaps cysts? Having ovarian cysts can cause us to be irregular and have that symptom of dull type of pain. Have you had a physical or better yet, a pelvic exam with a gynecologist any time recently?
Avatar f tn In January of 2009, i had emergency surgery for an ovarian cysts on my right ovary. Apparently the cyst was 5 inches and twisted around my ovary. After the surgery, i had no pain up until June of that year. I had many ultrasounds done that confirmed i had small cysts. In April of 2010, i had laproscopic surgery to have a look to see what was going on. The doctor told me after that my ovary had dropped down due to a cyst and that my right tube was blocked.
Avatar f tn I went and got a CT scan of my Abdomen and Pelvis, and my doctor said I have a 6mm cyst on my liver and cysts in my ovaries and tubes and I should have the ovaries and tubes removed. I read the report and it says cannot see clearly enough but there is "Enhancement" in POSSIBLY my Ovaries, right larger then left. There small amount of pelvic fluid, and could be other etiologies( disease?) My questions are, WHAT IS ENHANCEMENT, can it mean a tumor?
Avatar f tn After multiple tests (ultrasound, ct scan and MRI) I was told I have complex ovarian cysts 5×4 cm on both ovaries and pancreatic cyst that is over 1cm . I have 2 questions. 1. Since I very much refuse and will be refusing contraceptives , how else naturally can I cure ovarian cysts? 2. Can acidic taste in my mouth with coating on my tongue and lower back pain be due to pancreatic cyst?
Avatar m tn If surgery is required, this is the only doctor you want to have performing it. They specialize in ALL types of cysts, benign or not, and any other abnormal development in the female reproductive system. Or he/she may say no worries. But that is the specialist you want to trust with a verdict. Nobody else.
Avatar m tn You need to go see your gyn and have a pelvic ultrasound to see if you have ovarian cysts. Cysts can cause all the symptoms that you describe. You might check out the ovarian cyst forum. Make an appt with your gyn asap. good luck and let us know how you make out.
Avatar f tn A woman without the BRCA mutation ( a genetic mutation which runs in families and causes ovarian cancer) has a 1.4% of getting ovarian cancer in a life time. The odds are very low it is ovarian cancer. 2. It is rarer still to get ovarian cancer before the age of 40. 3. By the time you have symptoms for ovarian cancer it would probably show up on a CT scan. Women do not have symptoms for ovarian cancer until they have had it awhile. 4.
Avatar f tn .Hi I'm 32 and was diganosed with ovarian cysts years ago, my problem is I've been really sick for @ 2 yrs and recently went to ER because I was so sick I couldn't move, that's where they found a 5-6 cm cysts growing. I switched Dr. last year because it just seemed that she wanted to put me on pills that didn't produce periods. I havn't had a period in 2 yrs and my symptoms are horrible.
Avatar f tn Anechoic cysts tend to be filled with fluid so that is a good sign. Cysts related to ovarian cancer tend to be complex (with solid parts) and grow larger than 5cm. Most cysts (even complex ones) turn out to be benign. It is the general recommendation to watch and wait cysts that are simple and under 5cm. But, since your cyst is already 4.1 cm., I can see why your doctor has mentioned surgery as a possibility. It is possible for your cyst to go away on its own in time.
Avatar f tn Take heart in knowing that the symptoms for ovarian cysts and those for ovarian cancer are very similiar. Take a look at the health pages (top right). Arrange for abdominal and transvaginal ultrasounds to see if you have another cyst. The odds are tremendously in your favor that this isn't cancer but in some cases they can't be sure until the cyst is removed. Let us know how it goes.
570306 tn?1222713377 i pray all is well with ur daughter at the time of her consultation i am not a current practicing medical professional just a caring mom the long wait to see the surgeon may be to see if the mass reduces on its own to save her from having surgery ... neonatal ovarian cysts are one of the few non functional cysts that can reduce on their own ... i think the percentage is really high like 98 % ...
Avatar f tn The following statements from the blog cited above are concerning especially knowing that female organ removal is grossly overused here in the U.S.: "In women over 48 years old with an ovarian tumor, it is standard practice to counsel to remove both ovaries if one is diseased. Ovarian cancer is a deadly cancer and often not diagnosed until too late. That is why the treatment is more aggressive.
