451602 tn?1216445876 Ok yes cows are pregnant for 9 months - I have worked with more dairy cows but after calving they come into heat in 21 days so each month. I think that their quality of feed does impact their conception rate but I am not sure if it has anything to do with if they are cycling on a normal schedual. Keep tract of their heats or synch them to make sure they are being bred @ the proper times.
Avatar n tn Just in case you can't get through to the experts, do be aware that over 95% of cysts are benign. Be vigilant and keep on your doctors to ensure your treatement keeps moving forward. Good luck with everything.
Avatar f tn I have heard that consuming large amounts of dairy produce plays a part in the formation of ovarian cysts . There was a study done in Sweden about it, apparently drinking more than 2 glasses of milk a day or equivalents yoghurt, cheese etc can increase you chances of developing ovarian cysts . I do not know how much weight this discovery carries but it seems that if its not this then its that that we should avoid so a balanced diet seems more sensible to me.
Avatar n tn MRI following an ultrasound is not routine, no. Checking back 3 years is not routine, either. I don't understand the logic of that at all. The only time I've heard of doctors checking previous films was to check previous mammograms, not previous ovarian ultrasounds (at least not 3 years back). It's not just the sizes of cysts that matter, what about the nature of these cysts?
Avatar m tn Yes cysts usually go away on their own and some do not cause any symptoms. Now there are some cysts that get larger, cause pain, irregular cycles, those are the ones your gyno would keep an eye on. Surgery is sometimes used for problematic cysts, but most are on a "wait & see" approach. Some gyno will use BC pills to get them to go away. What did your doctor recommend?
Avatar n tn Why do you think Ovarian Cancer is a possibility? Did the Dr. mention this to you.? You didn't mention your age .. but the CA-125 isn't really used that much to screen for ovarian cancer in premenopausal women unless you have other symptoms. Even then, it isn't reliable since there are so many other things that can elevate the results.. This is according the American Cancer Society. Now, if you are postmenopaual, the test carries a little more weight.
Avatar f tn 8cm lesions on my left ovary. I have a history of ovarian cysts, but this is a first for me. I called my dr last week and her nurse had me send over my scan so the dr could review it. I received a call back from the nurse that the dr wants to see me in the office. I’m scheduled next week, but I’m in a panic now.
1340383 tn?1309990914 I am trying to explore natural remedies for healing ovarian cysts..I have one (2.6 cm by 3.4 cm) on my left ovary and my Dr is suggesting birth control pills.. anyone heard of any herbs or food items to shrink cysts? Thanks!!
Avatar n tn Hi There, The studies that have tried to link diet with cancer have usually involved telephone surveys or questionnaires asking a group of people with cancer about their diet over the past 20 years and comparing them to a group of people without cancer. As you can imagine, the results are dependent on how well a person remembers what they ate and in what quantities. There is always the bias of people who develop a cancer trying to find an explanation for their illness.

Avatar m tn Yes they did do an ultrasound and bloodwork. They actually did it 2 months in a row. I did at the time have the cysts, but they were normal in size and different both times. That does make sense with the salt and sugar, I do find myself eating more of that too. Thanks again.
Avatar f tn You may like to post on the Ovarian Cyst forum and there will be many more people in similar situations that can give you advice. Also on the Ovarian cyst forum, there is a Health page that discusses different types of cysts and common treatment that may be helpful. Ovarian Cancer is actually quite rare and only 1% of cysts turn out to be malignant cancers. So you should look at this and feel confident that you will be in the 99% with a benign condition that will be easily resolved.
556467 tn?1225377691 I feel stupid asking this but can ovarian cysts cause severe lower back pain and abdominal cramping even after a partial hysterectomy? A CT scan (to look at liver b/c of pain under right side rib cage and elevated liver enzymes) showed bilateral cysts on both ovaries. I am scheduled to see my Gyn and have a US on Nov. 3rd. The pain is getting worse and I didn't know if I should try to see the Gyn sooner or if this might be something different going on. Any info would be appreciated.
Avatar m tn Hi there, we recently went and got an MRI done as well as a CA-125 test. I found out that the Gynecologist didn't even review the images, apparently that's done by a radiologist. Anyways the doctor said it "looks" like endometriomas or "chocolate cysts". We're looking for someone else that knows how to read the MRI images and can give us another opinion. I'm hoping we could find a doctor or radiologist that would be willing to review them for us.
Avatar f tn She started me on a serious dose of anti-biotics until she could review all the scans. Today she said I have bilateral complex cysts, blood in my tummy and some free flowing complex fluid. I've been on bed rest since Sunday and will stay in bed until I go back to her next Wednesday to 're-evaluate' ... I'm really aggravated that I didn't ask more questions.
Avatar f tn Ok so my pelvic area feels ok now still a little achey though. Do ovarian cysts cause sharp jolting pain to my backside. Does this sound like an ovarian cyst? For any ladies that have had them what were ur symptoms? On a scale of 1 to 10 what would u rate ur pain? The other day mine was about a 12! I was bawling my eyes out! I do have PCOS (diagnosed last yr) BUT I have never had a cyst before.
Avatar f tn I have spent days looking all over the Web for answers to how i am feeling and here is the only place i have felt "normal"....whatever that is. I'm not sure where to start or if i'm even in the right place but any input will help. Basicly i have had female problems my whole life. My history is this: I'm 41 married with 2 kids dx with endometriosis at age 20 Poly cystic overian syndrome at age 33 Hysto at age 34....kept ovaries and tubes GI issues for............
20831008 tn?1527294114 As Dr. William Parker says on ovaryresearch.com benign ovarian cysts are also fairly common in post-meno women and typically also resolve on their own.
Avatar f tn Anechoic cysts tend to be filled with fluid so that is a good sign. Cysts related to ovarian cancer tend to be complex (with solid parts) and grow larger than 5cm. Most cysts (even complex ones) turn out to be benign. It is the general recommendation to watch and wait cysts that are simple and under 5cm. But, since your cyst is already 4.1 cm., I can see why your doctor has mentioned surgery as a possibility. It is possible for your cyst to go away on its own in time.
4957231 tn?1361631734 (I am guessing that you mean your hemoglobin when you say your iron level--if not, forgive me) Pertaining to the ovarian cysts--I would want to review the ultrasound films looking for characteristics of malignancy or endometriosis. I would probably order a ca 125 or ova-1 blood test for ovarian cancer. Depending upon the results of the above, I would probably want to review your case with a gyn oncologist. Surgery will probably be in your future.
Avatar m tn I was trying to learn more about if there was dangerous effects of eating to much dairy. Mainly butter and how much hormones like estrogen were in say a pound of butter. I only ask because I did something stupid last week and I ate a pound of butter in one sitting after seeing others do it on youtube.
Avatar m tn Please do a search under the following : "Πρόγραμμα ελέγχου και εκρίζωσης της βρουκέλλωσης των αιγών και των προβάτων" Underground commerce is prevalent in most parts of the country (I'm in Greece presently), so programs such as the one in the above article, can be implemented satisfactorily only on "legitimate" cattle operations. This may leave a small number of consumers of dairy and meat products (goat and sheep) vulnerable to Brucellosis.
Avatar f tn It is not uncommon to have occasional discomfort after surgery. And often women can sometimes feel their ovulation pain, but it could also be more muscle, bowel or other pain too. If you haven't seen your gynecologist since your surgery, then it wouldn't be a bad idea to check in with her or him to review these things and be sure. Good luck to you.
Avatar f tn Okay, I found out on the 6th of December that I have ovarian cysts, they sent the results to my doctor as 'Urgent'. I received a letter saying they've referred me to a gynaecologist for 'further review'. From doing research, I know they're only going to send me away with an Ultrasound appt for one months time to see if they're still there.. But like, I've had this pain for ages.
Avatar n tn My grandmother was recently diagnosed with Stage IV Ovarian CA with mets to the omentum and colon back in October, so I do have a family history of it. I do have a follow up appointment with the GYN, but it is still 10 days away, and it is hard not to think about what might be going on and not have any answers. So, 3 questions: 1. Is it possible that this could also be Ovarian CA? 2. What can be diagnostically to find out other than that CA-125 blood test? 3. Would surgery be required?
Avatar f tn The conclusion says that I have bilateral complex ovarian cysts that may represent hemorrhagic cysts or endometriomas. Follow up in 2-3 months (but my doctor is having me go in 6 months). What I'm wondering: what are the echoes & septations? And also, how can they assume that these are not cancerous? I'm assuming they'd send me for further testing if they looked suspicious?
