Avatar f tn I was diagnosed with ovarian cysts last month and I was reading on the pregnancy instructions that if you have ovarian cysts then it can give a false positive. Have anyone had this before? I got a positive test but I'm scared it's a false positive.
Avatar n tn I think possibliy you mean ovarian cysts instead of ovarian fibriods as fibriods are assoicated with the Uterus and ovarian cysts are associated with the ovaries.
Avatar f tn I have ovarian cysts and 2cm isn't that bad, but it also won't give you a false positive. My little ovaries are riddled with cysts, but the two times I've taken a pregnancy test and had them come back positive were because I was pregnant. Congratulations!
Avatar n tn There is one kind of cyst that can give a positive pregnancy test, but it's really rare!! If you've taken tests before while having ovarian cysts and the result was negative, then I'm pretty positive you're positive!!
Avatar f tn Yeah, you might have poly cystic ovarian syndrome, or PCOS. Chances are, if you took 6 home pregnancy tests and all were negative, you aren't pregnant.
Avatar f tn I have not had my period for the past 3 months and I have taken 2 home pregnancy tests and I have even gone to a clinic to take a test, all the tests have came out negative. Could it still be too soon to detect the pregnancy hormone or could this be something else?
1524489 tn?1291406107 I am on day 61 of my cycle today, have taken 3 pregnancy tests-which ALL came back negative, and have 0 signs of pregnancy. What the heck is going on? I wouldn't mind if I was pregnant, but it's really frustrating why a period would just "go away," you know? The only thing I can think of is stress. Maybe it's stress? Who knows! Good luck, though. I'm just waiting around for mine to show up, so I guess we are in the same boat!!
Avatar f tn If you are apprehensive regarding the status of your pregnancy you can get it checked. Most home pregnancy tests that check urine beta-HCG are sensitive to 20-25 mIU/ml of HCG. The test can be positive anywhere from about 2-3 days prior to a missed menses to 4-5 days after, but usually it should be done 7-10 days past your missed period. Otherwise you can get a serum HCG or an ultrasound uterus also done which is more specific than urine pregnancy test.
Avatar m tn The CA-125 test is not accurate in diagnosing ovarian cancer. If you do not have a predisposition for ovarian cancer then your lifetime risk is less than 2%. You said he didn't seem worried about the ovarian cysts. Is that because they were functional cysts which are part of the normal menstrual cycle? Those can sometimes hang around causing some symtpoms but almost always resolve within 2 cycles.
1649757 tn?1301502977 When you stop to think about it, the symptoms you describe can be for all sorts of things. Urinary tract issues, bowel issues, and more. Please don't jump to the worst possible conclusion. But, you know your body, and you certainly want to get checked out. If you had a CA-125 blood test, "normal" is under 35 or 25 depending on the lab. This test is not a good diagnostic test for ovarian cancer because the number can be high due to inflammation, illness, etc.
1893678 tn?1322008313 Hi guys, I'm new to this website after reading all your supportive posts about having painful ovarian cysts. I'm 17 and I have been having problems with ovarian cysts since I was 16. Last January, I was 16, and I started feeling severe pelvic pain that wrapped around my back. The pain was so severe I laid on the bathroom floor and cried and cried. My mom then took me to my primary doctor who told me it was only a stomach bug and gave me medicine for the vomitting, and 'stomach bug.
Avatar f tn My last period ended Aug 22. After taking a Negative test every few weeks I assumed I wasn't pregnant and was just very late, but i'm almost 12 weeks late now. My lower back and hips have been aching very bad for a couple weeks now, bras are fitting very snug, and I've been pathetically exhausted lately. I don't have insurance and don't want to spend the money to go to the doctor just to find out the at home tests were right.
Avatar f tn with the at-home ovulation and pregnancy tests? Even when I had a confirmed pregnancy, I still was having negative pregnancy tests. Is this a me thing? Is this something I should be concerned over? Just looking for some some support or other's stories if they have had similar issues. Thanks!!!
Avatar m tn More than 98%t of ovarian cysts are none cancer. Ovarian cysts in women are very common. Most resolve themselves with out surgery. If you can take something like Ibuprofen that can help with inflammation.

Avatar f tn I've been prone to ovarian cysts for 5years and am in near constant pain with them. I've tried different contraceptions, painkillers and keyhole surgery but they always return. My doctor said removing my ovary would be best but im too young- im only 21! My G.P is consulting with his senior for more options but I can't wait. Tests confirm they are abnormal cysts but cannot be operated on almost every month!
Avatar f tn My sister has had ovarian cysts after having 4 babies over 10 years. It was a year ago when she has the cysts removed. Her dr. is having her checked again because she hasn't had a period in 5 months. She had her tubes tied so she can't get pregnant.
Avatar f tn Hello :) I'm 22 yrs old and for the first time ( if I don't count the times during my first yrs of menstruating) my period is late. My last period was on the 8th of May and at this time I was having 26 and less days cycles due ( before this time my period was on every 30/31 days). Also I would like to note that I'm experiencing some menstrual-like cramps which come and go occasionally,my breasts seem heavy and sore and I'm very cranky and moody.
Avatar f tn I have heard of women getting false negatives on home pregnancy tests in early pregnancy. But, usually as more time passes, the home pregnancy test has many less false negatives. The reason for so many false negatives in very early pregnancy is because it takes a certain amount of time to get high enough pregnancy hormones in urine and sometimes women conceived later than expected. This makes them not have enough hormone to register positive on a test as soon as expected.
Avatar f tn Okay, I have irregular periods, always have. I also have ovarian cysts. But, I've seen, read and heard a blood test can be taken to early into a pregnancy. The past couple weeks my boobs have itched like crazy, my lower belly is hard as a rock, I'm very constipated ( I've never been constipated in my life ), my boyfriends been eating weird stuff & feeling sick, and I've had spotting for two weeks now. it's not like a period it's just like faint but it's there.
Avatar f tn I was hospitalized in 2011 after taking a thousand pregnancy tests. Ovarian cysts have almost identical symptoms to an eptopic pregnancy. In less than a month I went from a size 9 to such abdominal swelling it looked like I was due any day and I couldn't button my size 13s! It was the most horrible pain I had been through next to giving birth. Move was a leaking cyst in my right ovary. Either way you should see a doctor.

Avatar f tn It could be hormonal (ovarian cysts maybe?), the IUD could have moved...it could be a few things, your health care provider cna do an exam and tests if needed.
Avatar f tn Ive taken about 6 home test and they all came back positive and when i went to the ER they did one and came back negative , what do you recommend i do?
